ICT V Ross County : matchday thread
Certainly was a terrific result and I'm very grateful for that. Unfortunately, the performance just didn't suggest to me that we'll be back in the SPL next season - it fell a long way short of that.

ICT V Ross County : matchday thread
I was surprised and disappointed Nick Ross wasn't on from the start, and didn't even make it on as a sub. For me, he was MoM against Partick last week by a long way. Maybe Butcher's saving him for more important fixtures.

Player Of The Year Poll
C*unty fans were certainly booing Golabeck.

Is the G-word racist?
Yes... I did. I've already submitted a strongly worded letter of complaint to the Chief Constable at Northern Constabulary along with a cc to the Lord Chief Justice at Parliament House. This was a disgraceful slur on all good clean living Caley supporters.

ICT V Ross County : matchday thread
Don't think you would have said all that if you had been able to get to the game. The only positives I took from it was that C*unty didn't manage to equalise, (they did come close) and that Butcher admitted it wasn't pretty to watch. I couldn't have suffered 30 mins extra time if they had equalised.

Boycott the Gypo Game
Good post Jake..... It's sad that anyone is thinking about boycotting this one just because of the gypsy stuff. (That annoys me too, btw, but I won't let it stop me going to games) I'll be more likely to stop going to games as a result of TB's questionable team selections, questionable tactics and an apparent lack of motivation on the field. Sorry Alex.... my needle's stuck again.

I knew you'd respond to that... B) And I knew you'd respond to any post that may bring TB into question. Trouble is John, your starting to sound like a record with a scratch on it. Repeating the same thing over and over till it becomes annoying. And I'm not the only one, Alex...

Is the G-word racist?
There are several theories as to where the term "hun" came from... I quite like this one: in 1961, rangers travelled to wolverhampton to play wolverhampton wanderers in the european cup winners cup. true to form, their supporters ran riot through the town destroying everything in their path. in an article appearing in the english press shortly afterwards they were described as 'coming across the border like marauding huns'. thus, a humorous accurate and nonsectarian term of endearment was created for the rangers.

TB might not realise Tokely is suspended for this one. He's had other, possibly more important duties to attend to this week....

No.... You can't have that in case it offends someone's granny.

Rangers vs Celtic
For me OF games in recent years have been really boring. The last one I enjoyed was the 1980 Cup Final, when shorts were short and hair was long. This is the one that resembled a re-inactment of the Great stuff!!

Is the G-word racist?
The gypsy thing is totally feckin stupid, but no doubt the police would say no one's actually submitted a complaint about the "dirty Arab B******s chant.

Team for County
Sounds like you've got some inside info here, Stevie... Do you know for a fact that Nick Ross won't be on from the start? If that's the case I probably won't be going. Duncan and Bulvitis both had nightmares last week.

Rangers vs Celtic
Just heard a quote on "Your Call" that Rangers, without Buggera playing tomorrow, will be completely Buggerad!

Is the G-word racist?
I agree Davie, but according to the police calling someone a gypsy b'stard can now be looked on as a racist attack. What really sticks in my craw is that it was actually our own supporters (all two of them) who made the complaints. Does anyone know who they were?

Is the G-word racist?
QUOTE Caley Thistle general manager Mike Smith said: "We do not wish to magnify this issue, but complaints were received about abusive chanting in the last game with Ross County which included reference to 'gypsies'. Having discussed the matter at length with the Police who have responsibility for enforcing the law covering racist and sectarian matters, we took the opportunity at our last game of talking to the young fans involved, to warn them of the potential issues involved. We are aware of previous incidents where young fans have found themselves in trouble with the law, and as we believe that prevention is the best course of action, we would hate for any young person to unwittingly find themselves in breach of the law in these circumstances. We and the Police met with representatives of the young fans this evening to make them fully aware of the issues involved. Caley Thistle is proud of the good reputation that our fans have and we fully understand that chanting and singing is part of the football tradition, but fans need to be aware that it must be done within the law. Obviously, action on any issues at Sunday?s game will be a matter for the Police.

Is the G-word racist?
I can argue with that. The club aren't trying to drive the fans away. They are anxious not to fall foul of the law by allowing them to chant what are now, apparently, racist chants.... I don't think they've got any options other than to heed the police advice in this matter.

Todays games 3rd Oct
Hopefully it will finish with a Morton win.... 8 points behind the leaders at this stage of the season is a lot.

Team for County
Shame that the football tomorrow seems to have paled into insignificance thanks to other issues. I saw enough positives against PT - mainly the performances of Ross and Hayes, which has actually got me looking forward to this one. Assuming our defence don't gift goals the way they did last week, I predict a comfortable 3-1 win for ICT. Esson Proctor Munro Golabeck Shinnie Ross Cox McBain Hayes Foran Sanchez

Is the G-word racist?
I find it a bit sad that for much of our support shouting gypsy stuff at C*unty fans seems to be a major highlight of the season. I know it's nothing more than banter and it's been around for a long time, but is it really such a big deal? Besides that I'm sure somebody will come up with something much more offensive than the "gypsy" word and which hopefully might not be deemed against the law. I'll be there tomorrow, looking forward to cheering on my new idol - Nick Ross - the most exciting young talent I've ever seen at ICT.
