  1. 20 years next year. And by the way, thanks to CB for explaining what the "JFK moment" means. By f*ck, would never have known otherwise.
  2. What aboot when Take That split up? Ah mind the first Top of the Pops after that, very emotional.
  3. Ah yes, the chips of Lancashire, coveted the world over by foodies of all nations.
  4. I can't remember exactly but i think it was around 6-7 quid for a large haddock, chips and mushy peas. Currently they're open 4-10pm 7 days a week but they're planning to open at midday and also will offer home deliveries in the near future :) can ye make it a bit more obvious please?
  5. Hmmm....i do believe.....in my teenage yrs...i referred to the Chip Shop as a Chipper, but nowadays.....its mostly chippy. Maybe i mix it up as i go? Bet ye call a chip piece a chip butty too.
  6. Personally, I would call it a chipper not a chippy, as in the Chipper Mob.
  7. They're so untrustworthy ye can't even trust them to cheat.
  8. No arbitrary piece of cloth is worth a single life.
  9. Good points Clacher, plenty on here hiding behind the team colour idea, when the flag does not match the club colours. I agree if people want to act like small time sevco fans, they should at least be honest about it. The OP's main point was about sectarian singing. Again, if any of those who sing these songs want to justify that, be open about it.
  10. Caley's colours were blue and white FFS.
  11. As far as I am aware the OP has not posted extensively if at all on the Independence thread, so to attribute to him an "ulterior motive" smacks of paranoia.
  12. JDM's main point was not to do with the flag, but as he says, the wannabe zombies that rally round it, singing mindless sectarian songs. As said before, tolerating this kind of thing is a sure fire way of alienating many potential supporters.
  13. This thing about using the "fleg" because it has the club's colours surely can't be right, for as some of the nice people who wave the thing used to say "there ain't no black in the union jack." One surefire way to alienate the club further in the community.
  14. We'll be having "heroes" abseiling doon the main stand next.
  15. To be fair to Cowan, women's football is pretty sh*te.
  16. What about Dave Cameron sh##ting it from a debate with Salmond? Nice of him to leave it up to Scots to debate the issues, I trust he and his rotten government will refrain from commenting on this issue in the year to come.
  17. One sad thing is that in an independent Scotland, there is no way CB would be taking to the airwaves, given his strong and principled stance against the "separatists".
  18. Was that not the original Wine Shed beyond the main stand? I have vague recollections of my first footballing experience in Inverness, being in among the Clachers in the Wine Shed, and being scared at all the shouting, and the heady smell of booze.
  19. You actually raise another serious questionmark against separation there - which I am sure you will try also to categorise in your so called "Project Fear". But with less than 9% of the BBC's current licence fee revenue, I would be interested to see what kind of service a Scottish equivalent would be able to provide - even if it were to try to raise a few more quid by imposing lots of adverts on viewers of and listeners to... what? The BBC is actually an excellent example of one of the fundamental benefits of the Union - economies of scale. Self-interest, perchance?
  20. I fear you oversimplify. FWIW I see Salmond as assertive, if occasionally a bit smug. Not in the least inclined to bluster- affable even when faced with the winduppery of the likes of Paxman. Unfortunately CB seems to have a dose of the passive/aggressives and the hatred of Salmond the man is there in every sneering reference. Play the ball not the man is what I say ;-) Fair points, it's a neat diversion to turn this vote into a referendum on Salmond or the SNP, as that seems to give an excuse for not facing the real question: do you believe your country should be independent? If it helps the doubters: I am sure in an independent country a form of the BBC will still exist, as will the cafeterias at Tesco, Morrison's, etc., and all BB badges will still be valid.
  21. While we await Oddquine's latest mauling of CB, I will note his diversionary tactic of twisting the vote into a referendum on Alex Salmond rather than a vote on whether the Scottish people want to take full responsibility for governing their own country. People are often quite like those they profess to hate, so we find in CB's posts much of the self-important bluster and pontificating that he claims to dislike in the First Minister. Anyway, I will let Oddquine deliver her far more incisive critique of his latest guff.
  22. Shouldn't be long before Oddquine is here to rip CB a new one. Again.
  23. It's probably a positive thing for the Yes campaign that all the smug, ill-informed, fearful, and downright irritating types seem to be lining up with the No side.
