  1. They are no longer "Rangers," though if Sevco had been allowed to play in the SPL, crowds would most likely have fallen dramatically, through fans' disillusionment.
  2. How did I miss that? What about old Inverness groups, mostly pretty ropey, The Kut and the like. I suppose A Gentle Sound were the closest to a decent group that I recall from the Sneck.
  3. Sevco have ripped the heart out of Scottish football, the damage they continue to wreak will further affect the numbers of fans turning up for a devalued product, administered by absolute buffoons. That they are still allowed to exist and drag down the name of Scottish football is beyond comprehension.
  4. Brian Derby--Caley all the way. 12" remix.
  5. The olden days were pretty sh*te when ye think about it.
  6. Some amount of Greenesque logic there. I have the same feeling for the Portsmouth fans too, they haven't asked for the problems they have had. And Plymouth, and Clydebank, and Airdrie, and Port Vale, Wimbledon etc etc. Been a Kingsmills Jaggie, I never asked for Caledonian to be added to my club, but have had to move on. Doesnt stop me believing we could have achieved our progress with out the merger. If Thistle or Caledonian had got into the scottish league themselves, they would have completely outgrown the others left in the Highland league, and become the dominant force in the Highlands. But as so many original Caley fans profess, its still not the same as if they still had their original club. Our current home strip takes the biscuit for me, not only does it obliterate Thistle, but it reminds me of Rangers All makes sense now.
  7. Some amount of Greenesque logic there.
  8. One good thing about independence would surely be that it would cure us for once and for all of our inferiority complexes.
  9. Funny thing about CB's posts on this topic is that he seems dismissive of the local, perhaps parochial elements of Scottish culture, yet has written books on local topics and appears a great enthusiast for all things "Shneck".
  10. Have you been listening to Laurence, bughtmaster? On the prospect of ruining our "natural beauty," you could argue that centuries of mismanagement by absentee landlords have already done that. The idea that the Highlands is an unspoiled landscape is a complete myth. Every square inch of it has been exploited and altered, and the people have largely been cleared from it, which has allowed the complete disfiguration of what must have once been one of the world's most beautiful landscapes.
  11. Oh FFS, now there's two of him.
  12. Well Dougie, I am one of just three people left who have been in that building since day 1 and I've certainly never seen anything! I believe the alleged ghost was meant to relate to the neolithic burial chambers on the site. But on the other hand I happen to be writing this at my desk in the BBC in Culduthel Road where I've also worked for 30 years and which is also said to be haunted. Again I've never seen anything, despite keeping some pretty late hours here after midweek games when I'm in the building on my own as I am just now and I invariab Oh dear, cut off in mid sentence, CB caught by the ghouls...
  13. I mind the stories in the papers when the latest version was built, of workers seeing ghosts in the building. Will the ghoul flit to the new place?
  14. Nice one, that was Mario Bernardi I take it? A nice gesture.
  15. This is the key point. How many Irish people would vote to rejoin the union? How many Jamaicans would want to be ruled again by their colonial masters? The sad thing is we, especially Highlanders, have been colonized so successfully that we don't even realize it.
  16. Pass on the extra postal fees, if there are any, to your customers. Your competitors will no doubt face the same price hikes as you, so will be faced with similar decisions. Failing that, absorb the extra charges into your product prices, or spread the increase between the postage and product price rises. So ye can still make your millions and continue to live in Jockland and brighten up everyone's day. Am no Donald Trump, but c'mon TF Laurence, you're the entrepreneur here.
  17. It's nice that you're the only one on here intelligent enough to not be brainwashed by anyone, though maybe "us lot" think there are more important issues at stake than changes to an already flawed postal system. Surely if there are any problems a dynamic entrepreneur would be able to get round them? Great thing is too that if we are unhappy with the place we live in we can always relocate to another place where things are more to our liking, and they charge a few pence less for sending letters.
  18. Didn't realize that scaremongering was a business. Though Canada is a good comparison, given how similar the countries are in terms of size, etc.
  19. Must have missed all those threads 'obsessing' about the ex-huns.
  20. Cutting edge, DC, cutting edge.
  21. There's a thread on P&B about boycotting ICT. Massive own goal.
