Raith Rovers -V- ICT : matchday thread
Wow, fabulous result. Well done to the guy who did the match preview, he seemed to get the team selection right. This is a season turning point. We started sluggishly and now have a head of steam. Dundee are on the rocks and County are not as good as they thought they were. Pars are as good as I thought though, they are still in with a shout. The season begins now, if we can go on a roll then look out above.

Most improved player
Not sure if Esson has improved, he was a good player anyway. Jonny Hayes has certainly got fitter and his confidence is rising all the time. Rooney is also getting better with games played. He was never shy at having a pop at goal, just sometimes a bit of composure could make all the difference. Lee Cox is starting to get back to his early season form (with bandage).

Barrowman joins County

Dundee's relentless march to the title.....
An opportunity for the chasing pack to reel Dundee in a bit closer today as their game at Ayr is off due to a frozen pitch. Who would have thunk it. All the teams have games in hand over Dee. With County at home to the Pars and Queens at home to Morton it's up to us to make the most of this and take the three points at Raith. Partick are also at home to bottom team Airdrie United. Looks like us and Dunfermline have the most difficult tasks today. By the end of February, the league could be condensed again, bring it on, on the other hand, Dundee could repair the damage and strengthen their grip on the title. It would appear that only a win will be good enough to keep us in third place, however, it's a funny old game. I'm sure that bubble is leaking.

Team for Raith Rovers
I'd have Duncan in beside Cox, Proctor at Right back and Rossco at left back. The rest pick themselves. A la M'Well.

Team for Raith Rovers
He has two choices. Play him to keep his confidence up or drop him because it simply was not good enough and shatter his fragile confidence...........it's a tough choice, but for the greater good, he needs a rest.

Sportsmans Dinner
Thanx Tabs When reading Charlies epic tale, although the Drum prices etc were brought up, I got the impression it was a generic take on all dinner do's, after dinner speeches and all that goes with it, pound coins nearest the bottle. Aye new ideas are great, but hard to find.

Jimmy says aye to the Killie pies
Nothing on Saturday..................they ran out at half time, and I got the only item left in the ovens, a spicy steak slice, and it was sooo delicious as well, yummy yummy.

Kilmarnock -V- ICT : matchday thread
I thought Rooney had another sound game on Saturday. He does not give defenders much time and hassles away which hides his lack of searing pace. Connor Sammon on the other hand showed Bully and Grantie and Lionel a clean pair of heels on a number of occasions. Kyle was also a handful with his height and his ball holdiing ability. Did Killie deserve to win...................well, they took their chances and we never took ours, if that means they deserved to win then fairynuff, but 3-0 certainly flatters them. Good luck to them though, they will need it. Cammy Bell did have a great game, the Foran volley being the pick of the bunch, some of the others were TV saves, but save them he did. Foran was my MoM he was tireless at both ends of the park and on another day might have scored a hat-trick. Likewise Rooney, still needs that vital composure at times, but he is still a bit green between the ears. Maybe we should get back to the Motherwell formation, with Proc at right back and Tokely at left back. That worked well and I would have no hesitation sticking Russelldinho in beside Cox. Kilmarnock -V- ICT : matchday thread
How bad was Lionel yesterday...............probably his worst game ever for us. Constantly trying to be too clever and losing the ball, always taking one touch too many, one turn too many and probably one game too many. You had to see the game to believe it, we were all over Killie for half an hour, and then the roof caved in. First half chance for them, Esson not looking too clever at the goal as he was caught in no mans land as the ball was simply lifted over his head and into the empty net. The defenders were culpable as well as Bully never attacked the ball. Second goal just took away any hope we had. The third goal was incidental and went unnoticed by our fans as we were too busy serenading Tangoman. The young fans take a bashing some times for their choice of phrases, but yesterday they were absolutely fabulous. Best 3-0 defeat I have ever witnessed. The singing clapping and dancing overshadowed the football, and rightly so. Don't forget, we also had enough chances to win six games, but Cammy Bell was in great form, especially the save from Forans volley. However, highlight of the day was definitely Jimmy says aye to a Killie pie. Well done fans.

Thanks!
Just home, my voice is a bit creaky.............what a great day out, pity about the score. Well done to everyone for the singsong, and the conga, just absolutely brilliant guys, take a bow.

The Hamilton incident, if I remember correctly was during the game against Clyde, he assaulted a player with a huge fencepost and then jumped up and down on his head whilst poking his eyes out with his thumbs. The chap reqired emergency treatment after being rushed to hospital, but he recovered. Heres a more accurate report The Hamilton v Clyde match in the First Division was abandoned with the score 3-3 after a serious injury to a Hamilton player who had treatment for a neck injury on the pitch for 20 minutes until an ambulance drove onto the playing surface to take him to hospital. Players on both sides were upset and after consulting the two club chairmen, the referee abandoned the game. It is likely to be replayed on Tuesday. heres a BBC link.
