  3. TORONTO, July 12 (Reuters) - Spain beat Brazil and the United States saw off Uruguay to reach the Under-20 World Cup quarter-finals along with Austria and Czech Republic on Wednesday. Spain came from behind to secure a 4-2 extra-time victory over Brazil in a thrilling encounter in Burnaby. Goals from Leandro Lima and Alexandre Pato put Brazil 2-1 up but Spain equalised six minutes before the end of normal time when Javi Garcia floated in a free kick with the defence sleeping. Bueno took Spain towards the last eight 12 minutes into extra-time with a stooping header after a fine run and cross from the impressive Diego Capel. Brazil struggled after Lima was sent off and Spain sealed victory in the final minute with a goal from Adrian Lopez. Uruguay looked to have finished off the Americans in Toronto when Edinson Cavani's header was parried out by U.S keeper Brian Perk and Luis Suarez drove home the loose ball. But the U.S. forced the game into extra-time after Uruguay defender Mathias Cardaccio slid Danny Szetela's cross into his own net. The winner came in the second period of extra-time, when the Uruguay defence failed to deal with a corner and Michael Bradley slammed the ball in from close range. The game ended with ugly scenes as players from both sides confronted each other on the pitch and coaches and officials were forced to intervene. The U.S. will meet Austria, who ended Gambia's ambitions with a 2-1 victory in Edmonton thanks to substitute Erwin Hoffer's 81st-minute winner. Despite having midfielder Seiya Fujita sent off in the first minute, Japan went 2-0 up against the Czech Republic thanks to goals from Tomoaki Makino and Yasuhito Morishima but let their advantage slip as penalties from Ondrej Kudela and Jakub Mares brought the Czechs level. With neither side scoring in extra-time the match was decided by a penalty shootout which the Czechs won 4-3.
  4. We are still being regarded by the media as the surprise wee team from the Highlands who should really be grateful to have been given the opportunity to play with the big boys. Once again we get the brush off, this time on Teletext. This caught my eye on the Teletext headlines :- Benji bags brace for five-star Hibs Quinn praises McGhee- Win for Well Moutinho nets as Bairns end on high What do we get Battling Jags see off Romanian side. scant if any praise and derisory discrimination against Highlanders
  5. always good to get a win :003:

Oh let him take some free kicks, as long as he lets others take his crosses.

  12. Medical tonight and he will be an ICT player by tomorrow. agreement has been reached with Gillingham and the player has agreed terms. Welcome aboard young man.
  13. No surprise to see the Hibs keeper fork up again. They seem to have a conveyor belt of useless keepers :33: :sillywave: Just the result I would have expected from a Scotland side, beaten by a much technically superior team.
  14. £450 to get ejaculated from the stadium :010: Sit down man, and stop yer singing :sillywave:
  15. Grass cutting waits for no man. I was too late to pop along but I am not complaining, everything seems to be in order, if you let a thread run long enough all your questions will be answered. All we can do is try it and see whats happening and give it a little while for everything to be ironed out, chill for a bit. Oh, and here are some e's for you, eeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Don't see how you guys reckon some of these players are underrated Bayne and Munro have both one awards last season, which in my book means that some people do rate them. Hastings has been lauded by many as player of the season. The one who gets the most stick, not all of it deserved has to be Russeldinho.
  18. Craig Dargo
  19. So & So Are these a pair of Chinese central defenders :029:
  20. 1 Celtic 2 Rangers 3 Hearts 4 Hibs 5 Aberdeen 6 Dundee United 7 Kilmarnock 8 Inverness..............we will finish the season where we started, comfortably avoiding relegation and just missing out on top six 9 Falkirk 10 St Mirren 11 Motherwell 12 Gretna
  21. Black with no E, I am not bothered, do I look bothered, do I look bothered? He is now history, we will rise without him. I thought he was fortunate to be in the exhalted position we gave him despite the goals he did score for us. Often disinterested during games drifting in and out for long spells. He did the one thing I did like about him though, and that was put the ball in the back of the net. What can ICT do about it, at present, grin and bare it, in the long run, find more money to make staying at ICT more lucrative, until then we will have to put up or shut up. Are we going to be like this every time a player leaves ICT............all depends on how the players treat the paying public. If they act like Dargo or Brown then I may be bothered. Brown for going to sit on Celtics bench and leaving at short notice ( more respect if he went to a club that needed a keeper, like Hibs where he would have been offered a substantial rise and had first team football), Dargo for the unecessary protraction of his departure.
  22. No dispute Bobby Mann Thread closed I win :blah01:
  23. Oh well, why not just go right back to when makind was born and wonder what would happen if Adam never met Eve? Footballs not just about the money, people like Dargo are turning their back on the area, what message does that spell out to other prospective employees for ICT. The fact is it has all happened, thats why people are commenting on it, Dargo did sign for us, Dargo scored a lot of goals for us, Dargo got injured, Dargo got better, Dargo never signed a new contract, Dargo thinks the grass is greener elsewhere, Dargo is turning his nose up at a good thing, Dargo is sticking his fingers up at the ICT fans who backed him, Dargo is History. This 'outpouring' is annoyance that another central belter comes North, makes an impression, then buggers off as soon as. This 'outpouring' is annoyance that as soon as players get noticed, the wee team get consumed by the old firm. Aye, you would think I would be used to it by now, but it does not get any easier, and having Dargo stringing us along waiting patiently for him to decide when the time is right to dump us just adds to the annoyance. Some people up here need to go and get some passion training and stop trying to be nicey nicey politically correct all the time, go on, live life on the edge, you might just enjoy it. What is so wrong with players saying, ok, I like Inverness and I want to finish my career here because I am not a greedy little ****** and want more than Inverness can give me? Like that will ever happen, no because we allow it to happen right under our noses. Dargo is under some illusion if he thinks he will be a big cheese at a big club. This was his chance to be that big cheese and he turned his back on it. As I typed earlier, thanks for the goals, and bye bye, but don't look for any heroes welcome if you return. Right, plenty for you all to quote in that little outpouring :blah01:
  24. Fantastic, I am now the most quoted person on this thread. Rig, you are getting old before your time, pipe slippers and cloth cap spring to mind.........the voice of reason. My opinion of Dargo is his ego has outgrown him, this holding the club to ransom will hopefully backfire on him. This isn't a question and answer game. Wheres sophia, she likes these games.
  25. Do you honestly expect me to answer you honestly in front of all these people. Dargo had plenty of other opportunities to say yes or no, but we all knew the real answer was no. He has sold ICT short over this. I don't think any amount of money would have tempted him to stay in the Highlands, so why drag it out. As soon as his contract was out he should have come clean and said he was moving. The writing was on the wall when he refused to extend his contract and wait until season ended. I am also sure that ICT were already looking, but they had two options then, young back up striker Buchanan and nobody or young back up striker and also a proven top flight goalscorer. We need another poacher despite what CC said in the press that Denzil will do the job.
