  1. Born in Glasgow Born - 12th August, 1949, Glasgow, Scotland. Mark was seven years old when his family moved to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in England. another source:- Mark Freuder Knopfler, OBE (born August 12, 1949, Glasgow, Scotland) is a British[1] guitarist, singer, and songwriter. His vocal style is best described by the German phrase, Sprechgesang – not quite singing, not quite speaking. His use of guitar has been compared to adding another 'voice' to his songs.

  3. This will be a big blow to the club, Dods has been magnificent throughout his spell at ICT, he may well prove difficult to replace.

    Hastings

If he gets the crosses sorted out he will have had a superb season. He has a great engine in him, if only he could cross like Robson.

  7. no no no, we suffer from it :017:
  8. Take absolutely nothing away from our performance, that was real top drawer stuff, especially in the first half. DavieB, this was the last thread I read today and you are the only poster who picked up on Blackie. I thought he was tremendous when he came on for his cameo role. He looked as though he was taking the urine out of the Leithers. This boy has got the lot, that wee bit of arrogance that we hate in other players, he totally miffed off the Hibbee players when he came on, well done that lad. Superb display, we were smokin, took Hibs apart, one of the most feared striking machines in Scotland were reduced to ........well.........erm............nothing. Like the Killie game in the first half, but defensively much better. Second half we just sat on it, and why not, even then, we still looked most likely to ad to our tally. Mike Fraser looked soooo cool, Mr unflappable, he could not have wished for a more comfortable game to kick off with, thank you ICT defenders, who were all immense. Spacial mention for Rossco who was better than anything you see on the telly, he ran the show in the first half, creating goals and having a pop himself, brilliant. Wyness never wasted anything, Dargo was a thorn in the giants flesh, the invisible man appeared, and scored......who said there is no end product :hiding03: Absolutely fabulous display, probably the best first half in the history of ICT. Hibs were a shadow, but that is not our problem. Thyey can make all the excuses they want, but the bottom line is we ferkin stuffed them good and proper. No failures today........Markus, he looks to have a good touch, not on for long enough to form an opinion, but he seemed eager enough to want the ball and get involved, I'm sure he will be another shrewd ICT investment.

Well said Sophia, Toklers was better than immense, he was doing to their wingers what they were supposed to be doing to us. He deserved a goal for his efforts, mazy runs, drifting past players with consumate ease and put the foot in where it hurts.......................10 out of 10 for me.
  10. which ones ken, or can I call you car? For me Tokely was the man, back to his superman status in the first half, absolutely superb. I also thought Wyness was brilliant, seldom wasted a ball and linked well from a slightly deeper role. Dargo much better as well, made some great off the ball runs, tormenting the defenders all night. And special mention for Mike, it's not his fault Hibs were p!sh, he did what he had to do comfortably and caught a couple of awkward bouncers with safehandsmarkbrown.............good to see the defence protecting the young keeper.
  11. Well spotted Chibbo, show us yer tatoo ye olde git, get it out for timmy bhoys game :023:
  12. :017: can anyone join in?
  13. Invisible man pops up to score a beaut...............................well done Roy, at last something to show for your elaborate work :003:
  14. :015: ok, I'll keep taking the tablets :016:
  15. and back, fitness fanatic :015: he only played in goals cos he was too fekkin lazy to run about.
  16. Jboy, saw Fairport Convention in Glasgow many moons ago. Amusing little occurance during the performance, remember think weegie. They were **** bent on not performing old stuff as they were trying to promote a new album. After nearly a couple of hours of the fans chanting "gie us all around my hat", the band still appeared oblivious to the frenzied crowds needs. "We are now going to sing a song about a SHIP! exclaimed Sandy Denny, to which a wee wag retorted at the top of his voice just before the band struck up.............AWRIGHT HEN, GIE US ALL AROUND MY SHIP :015: priceless moment, worth the entrance money itself. :003:
  17. I agree clacher, he has taken large strides to improve his speed. By the way, have you been taking sensible pills recently, most of your post are well constructed and constructive. I find myself concurring with most of them :021:

    Golly -> Fish

Gollies best days for us are now behind him, at best he would be cover defender. I like his wholehearted style, last ditch defending aided by crunching tackles at it's best. Have a good one Golly.
  22. Not everyone. Many a good ride in a Mondeo!

Not that I watch BB, but you can't help but notice this as it is all over the news. It is a new low for TV and BB. The plug should have been pulled on this guff as soon as it went off course. that is the problem when you stick a few low lifes together in a room with a posh bird. The Goody thing is an absolute tramp and this was something the great British public took to their hearts......yeeuukk. This racist ganging up against the Bollywood one is nothing short of public bullying and harrassment, and all concerned should be publicly flogged. How on earth she has made money out of being thick is just making a mockery of the ethics of the British culture, what an embarrassment.
  24. WHAT We do need a keeper, thats for sure. Good as Mike has shown himself to be, we need another keeper of similar stature to keep him on his toes. From what I read from CC's comments, Mike will be given his chance, if he is not up to it, then the other keeper will become the number one, the ball is in Mike's court. I believe he has the ability to become a stalwart for ICT, but does CC have the time to bed him in? that is the question.
  25. Yes beachy, I am bitter, I find it distasteful that out of the blue he goes to the green, of all the teams to go to, he goes to bloody Celtic. I appreciated Mark while he was here and he certainly saved us a few times. He also cost us a few goals but thats life. The question has been asked before, but why Celtic? He will certainly get more cash, but job satisfaction................I don't think so. Footballers like to play, that is their job, he won't be doing as much of that soon. I hate this January sales. It makes me bitter and twisted. Wee clubs like us have not got a chance. Celtic and Rangers can have their pick of players in Scotland, what can we do, trawl the depths of the SFL. Don't get me wrong, I hope we unearth a wee gem, maybe Markus will prove to be an ICT legend, who knows, but the harsh reality is that money talks and in that game, we can't compete, disgusting. It's not really Broonie I am angry at, it's the way the rest of the SPL just roll over for the old firm, I ferkin hate them :008: :008: :008:with a vengeance.
