Who will score ICT's 1000th goal ?
Cowie is a good bet - he's scored in both previous games against St Mirren.

Who will score ICT's 1000th goal ?
I'd like to see Dargo score it although as mentioned earlier we need to forget it and get on with life. We need wins or draws because the top six split is looming. We have a real chance if we can get some wins back on the board or else we could sink to 10th very quickly.

Markus against Rangers
Markus is fit, fast, good in the air, enthusiastic and someone who has improved at ICT. It was an enormous challenge for him coming on at the start against the league leaders and up against Whittaker. He did find it difficult in the first half but when he gets more practice he will be very exciting to watch.

Will we ever score again?
Time for a different perspective and reverse psychology. Three of the last four games have been blanks. Will we ever score again? We have some incredibly difficult games coming up in February - they are called away games. Should Rossco be banned for shooting at the opposition goal? Should Marius be banned for attempting headers in the opposition penalty area? Should Roy be forced to pass even if two yards out with an open net? Surely we must practice scoring goals? Our history is about attack and success scoring goals. Denzil has masses. Motherwell used to be a happy hunting ground so lets get the season back on the road.

OLD FIRM PRESSURE ON REFEREES
I am not sure if everyone has read the Courier where it headlines that Northern Constabulary will have an extra 60 officers on duty to prevent sectarian singing. This would suggest there is still a potential problem, and my original post which was oblivious of the NC decision, raised the question of whether a referee would have the bottle to stop a game if sectarian singing became an obvious feature.

whats the crack with rankin?
Good luck to Rankin. He is quite lucky getting his girlfriend pregnant, making himself homeless and still finding a good short term job. He clearly had a performance problem early in this season which did not relate primarily to Brewster. He has made a good comeback from these problems and we should wish him well. His goal against Rangers last year will be his legacy in the Highlands.

OLD FIRM PRESSURE ON REFEREES
Walter Smith seems to be whingeing about Ian Brines last night. Nothing unusual there with the old firm. If we recall the last time we played Rangers at home, we were soundly beaten. However, some would argue, the referee should have stopped the game when sectarian singing started and taken advice from the police as to the next course of action. When there is crowd trouble or bad weather the referee has a very high level of responsibility. The game on Sunday could be interesting for Setanta if Ranger's supporters are anything other than decent. Some would say 'who'd be a referee?'.

whats the crack with rankin?
By the way it's 'craic' surely?

Niculae's goal against AC Milan
It's the one against Rangers I want to see. Tendency to feel we could be humped unless there is a massive turn around from Saturday.

Manager of the Month
13 January 2006 ICT Manager Craig Brewster receives the Bank of Scotland Manager of the Month award on the same day announcements are made that he is to hold talks regarding a move to SPL Rivals Dundee Utd. Caley Thistle fans should be celebrating Brewster's award today of the 'manager of the month' award for December. It was awarded for a winning month that saw Motherwell and Hibs beaten and both Celtic and Hearts held to draws. However, for fans it seems like an hollow award as once again the club face losing a manager but this time to a side currently 7 points behind them in the SPL

See Hibs are looking for a new manager !!
I think Marcus had that opportunity after Cowdenbeath but declined. The odds on him scoring twice at Hibs may have increased. This makes a great headline 'Paatelainen makes immediate impact at Easter Road!'

Manager of the Month
Utterly remarkable for such a diddy team. Now don't underestimate Hibs or shy away from Rangers or any other team. We must not get cocky! In some ways we also owe Grassa and the Chairman some credit too because they were both instrumental in making very difficult decisions.

Hibernian Away. Scottish Cup 4th Round
Hibs is a really dangerous place to go to for a cup tie because players seeking big money transfers - Murphy and Jones - will be keen to shine. They may just have a new Manager and new team spirit and confidence. Marais seems well up for it "Inverness, in the Scottish Cup, is a great game to pick ourselves up for, as it means a lot to the fans. Everyone is up for it and I think we'll be fine on Saturday." Some of our greatest cup games have come from adversity so here's hoping the mood in our camp is very determined.

whats the crack with rankin?
It is odd that Robbie Savage at 33+ is worth ?1.5m and young Rankin is worth the gate money of one game.

Brewster Calls Time.....
This is quite a big loss to us. On Grampian he was quoted as saying he would play if needed before the end of the season. Let's hope the other guys dig in and keep the competition and results positive.

Aberdeen players set to leave
It would be slightly risky Nicholson going to Hearts because with an absent landlord and ?40million of debts Hearts are a prime target for administration. Sometime soon, somebody might just snitch on what has been going on at Tynecastle. Aberdeen do present as a group of players and managers driven by one thing - money - and the only person with it at the Club is the Chairman who is more anally retentive than a mole frozen to death. We owe our present position to two chairmen who were prepared to follow the Carnegie tradition.

Who will score ICT's 1000th goal ?
It will be nearly impossible to score at Hibs if Malambay has filled out this much after his first Christmas in Leith.....http://www.hibs.co.uk/news/more.php?id=2537_0_1_0_C

Hibernian Away. Scottish Cup 4th Round
My thoughts as well. One bit of our history we have forgotten in the SPL is that traditionally our roots were in cup runs. We could do with a decent run again. Hibs will be ferocious opponents because they see themselves as a top cup team too. They should have a new manager so I expect training this week in the Highlands to be 'no more Mister Niceguy' for the common good. And as Charlie Bannerman has mentioned there will be football and fireworks this weekend. We will have to work far better in Leith than we have on many away grounds this season to get a result. Hibs feel bitterly aggrieved at their last visit to the Highlands and will be waiting to ambush our cup progress. Hopefully the team return to fireworks and not a damp squid. We need an early goal to get past the 1,000 mark in order to move to the next target.

Travel problems for away teams
Not a club bus but Hugh Dallas used the A9 to test the speed of his car after refereeing an ICT game and fell foul of Mr Plod. For those not near the tunnel today Dougie McDonald signalled no extra time in the first half but with 3 1/2 minutes over already the fourth official had to shout to him to check his watch. He quickly blew for half time. So maybe refereeing at altitude affects a referee more than team buses. Rangers and Celtic do not generally take coaches - they fly. Aberdeen cycle of course to save money. Calderwood on the back of the tandem powered by Langfield.

Football and fireworks.
Even Chemistry teachers sometimes get their ingredients mixed up and their formulas wrong. http://www.cipfa.org.uk/scotland/ Accounting for the Common Good................1.6 LASAAC recognises that there are many expert commentators on the Common Good. Much of their commentary extends beyond the remit of accounting and addresses both political matters as well as stewardship issues.
