  1. Greenlees seems to ring a bell somewhere. Was that down at the bottom of Stephens Brae? And there used to be steps adjacent to the Brae which lead down to a wee shop run by Serafinis but cannot remember what that sold. And where was Bernardis? MacSween is a good Harris surname - usually from Scalpay. And all Hearachs spent time at Sir Edward Scott Junior Secondary school at some stage if they had half a brain.
  2. Yeah Ronnies on Eastgate, along from Burnetts the bakers which is now Girvans. They had the best pies and cakes. And there was a wee shop there too I think for cans of juice, curly wurlys etc. What was the name of the shop across from the Academy that is now a hairdressers? I left after 6th year in 1975, a few years after yourself. Didn't bother with school dinners until 6th year because by then you got in first and didn't have to queue. And didn't stay in hostel as family moved to mainland.
  3. I still BELIEVE we could win the league. Until it is mathematically impossible I shall continue to BELIEVE. I also BELIEVE that we have the squad of players capable of doing it and hope we hold on to every one of them as it took a while for them to gel and we don't want to go back to square one again at this stage in the season.
  4. what was the question again?
  5. Whatever the actual cause the sad thing is that a young lad who used to wear the Caley Thistle shirt is now dead. My heart bleeds for the pour wee soul who had such a troubled time that it brought him to this sad end. R.I.P. Geo.
  6. If I am not mistaken Geo played for Caley boys at one time - a couple of years ago probably. A real shame - a waste of a young life.
  7. Pagliaris van which used to come round in the seventies was brilliant for ice cream.
  8. Ronnies was always ace. Fish and scampi excellent and macaroni pie supper with pickled onion the bees knees. Ah the good old days in the old I R A.
  9. As a Manchester United supporter - second team after Caley Thistle - and don't call me a glory hunter as supported them as my English team way back in the days of The Doc,- I was disappointed when they didn't hold on to Tevez. I wish him all the best but hope City fail miserably after the way they treated Mark Hughes. If United win nothing this season it will not be because they didn't keep Tevez, it will be due to injury and lack of players to shore up defence.
  10. Hopefully it was just a precautionary move with a view to keeping him fit for our push to win the league.
  11. Quite right. As I said in earlier post if I had seen who had been shouting these obscenities I would have had them thrown out. And there must have been plenty of people in Section G who DID see the culprits and they did nothing. Unless they condoned this behaviour they should have taken action to have these morons removed.
  12. Really sad news. The end of an era. He was a true sports fan and a fantastic commentator. R.I.P.
  13. Was delighted for Imrie last night. Was disgusted with some elements in section G and had I been close enough to see who they were I would have had the stewards throw them out as their abusive language was totally unacceptable.
  14. section G were being really abusive to Imrie when he was warming up. effing c--- being among the more classy ones! I was disgusted with them and obviously Dougie was less than impressed. He might be leaving us but that sort of abuse is not merited and why would he want to stay now?
  15. There was plenty hot food available at match.
  16. Thought I saw somewhere 7.45 kick off. But I will be there well before that. Can't wait for a proper game of football. Cmon Caley.
  17. Any word on new date yet?
  18. A county supporter could well have said this of ICT not so long ago except we have 7000 seater.
  19. You are quite right - nobody is trying to argue that Dunfermline gained any advantage
  20. looking forward to Monday night even more now.
  21. If Roy has signed contract with Stenhousemuir will he be eligible to play for them in the cup?
  22. very harsh in my opinion given scoreline. And I would bet a few quid that had this been the old firm that had made this mistake they would still be in the cup. one rule for two teams and another for the rest of us.
  23. He has been a good servant to us and I felt heart sorry for him last time he was on subs bench warming up with no hope of playing. Will be sad to see him go but if he gets the chance to do something else then good luck to him.
  24. Thought he did a good enough job while he was here. But he has gone so that's that.
  25. I am relieved as was not looking forward to driving in treacherous icy conditions tomorrow night. Snow melting fast now but come 8 o'clock tonight it will be horrendous with black ice everywhere.
