  1. Thats inevitable though, we were never going to exceed that anyntime soon although another national cup final last year is pretty exceptional. Not sure what fans expected - challenging for the Premiershiptitle, a European trophy? In context there are plenty professional clubs in Scotland who have had less success in the last 100 years than we have in 30. The more I see the glaring sense of entitlement on here and whinging about refs and 'deserving better' the more I see how SG thought an orange strip might be popular in certain sections!!!
  2. We can barely as a club afford to run buses to the friendlies in Elgin, Brora and Costa del Lossiemouth, so doubt they will be able to fly the squad to Germany.
  3. Not long ago under Dodds this would be called a crisis and some fans were defending the runs of poor results and suggesting those questioning tactics were biased in just wanting him out.
  4. Fair to say they are dead, but with only 3 points between 5th and 9th everyone excluding top 4 is in a relegation battle. Not suggesting all is rosy at all, however if anyone wants to revisit the expectation when Dunc came in, the majority was mid table 5th to 8th range. Not sure why so many are disappointed and expecting more. Its apparent with the clear out of experienced or higher earning players in exchange for loans that we will either be paying little or nothing there is an agenda to cut playing costs too. Would we be in this position with Dodds and his team, who knows but doubt we'd be much better off if at all.
  5. But we are not bottom nor are we currently going down. The idea its gung-ho balls to the wall approach would be heavily chastised by fans loosing games in that vain. It's a point away from home and we've maintained the gap and amazingly even being crap we are only 3 points from 5th. Promotion play offs are gone but everyone other than top 4in this division can still go down!!!
  6. I think many will be wary of that kind of event, sounds a bit fishy
  7. This is just using the community angle to lever the process in their favour on a mutually beneficial arrangement for a project that likely would be instantly rejected without using the local links. Is it really much different to a developer building or financing local groups to support a play park or school or community facility in return for having their proposal passed? This is just the private company directly returning finances to a group that supports the community project - youth groups, school visits etc (just its all centered around football)? There is a lack of clarity what or whether directors will directly benefit on a personal level, but again is that really any different to most of these 'mutually beneficial' deals?
  8. Lucky we released a few high earners then signed all these loans everyones been complaining about and wont be saddled with longterm salaries in 12 weeks time then
  9. Citing poor performances and loosing games as a reason for not returning is (in my opinion) what we hear from OF fans. However I do agree that the entertainment is dropping due to our playing style this is directly linked to the quality of players we have which is all finance driven - through through dropping numbers of fans and therefore lower revenues this will continue in a decreasing spiral unfortunately. The biggest issue is that given other forms of similar entertainment for the price point of football, the experience as a fan is poor. This isnt unique to ICTFC but nothing is or has changed for decades - yet unlike history where there wasnt the vast spread of leisure activities on offer clubs could be complacent , relying on loyalty - this is no longer the case. Its a whole new off topic thread and discussion but attending football is a habit not pleasure.
  10. How many of them have built battery storage facilities and previously put together proposals for such ? Its not one size fits all and although apples are fruit, not all fruit are apples.
  11. .......or maybe some in HC just are upset they never got some business trips, golf wknds and fancy meals during the engagement stage
  12. In this case if the club had gone without expert inputs everyone would say how its unprofessional etc, but on this occasion it actually looks like they considered the approach most would deem prudent. The gaps outlined in the initial proposal were a identified and addressed, it may be argued that a more robust proposal could have been made, but why burn time and money if it is considered by all that it was adequate based on previous analogues?
  13. With calls for Dunc to go already in some corners of our support, it's maybe worth revisiting what expectations were on arrival. Concensus was 4th to 8th with us currently 8th and only 4 points off 5th is this not what was expected as being optimistic?
  14. I'm glad we still have Mcgregor around so there's calls for him to play each week now as our saviour since Bray went out on loan.
  15. Thats the thing though, we got spoony on the back of being crocked and no club for months and wrong side of 30. All in it was a gamble and he could have flopped like Sheridan. Not sure we have the money to throw at more perma-crocks just to keep physios busy.
  16. TBF, if the application was 'shoddy' is that really fully at the door of the club, you surely blame the experts ILI given their involvement having provided consultants and support. Sounds like another cheap dig at the board based on bias rather than facts. Additionally let's not overlook this application was approved was so clearly those with the decision making powers thought more of it than some online experts.
  17. Based on our finances, location and being January who do you suggest was available to meet that criteria which we missed?
  18. Huge game tomorrow at EEP, results depending over there, we could be 2nd bottom or only 3 points off the bottom spot with a game more played if we dont pick up something. 3 points badly needed and a home win for some confidence, but expect PT to sit in knowing we will be insipid and a nervous afternoon all round.
  19. None of which is unique to just this regime though, as the club has systematically over the years failed to develop a sustainable model and create alternate revenue streams.
  20. I suspect they would have offered to swap the venue to forfeit any chance of sporting success on return for increased revenue and a day out in corporate areas of 'the big house'
  21. Does anyone really believe if we never took loans or short deals this season (including Wotherspoon) we would actually get points persevering with start of season the Dodds squad?
  22. Pros - we can afford them and they are willing to come and play Cons - we can't afford anyone better or risk longterm contracts because if we are relegated to the seaside leagues it'll bankrupt us
  23. Fans were happy to defend dodds during utterly horrific runs of results yet seem to want the new guy out after a few months when trying to sort out our **** show that was left Perhaps the fact he inherited a squad with only a 34 year old striker and zero creative players which was leaking goals might be worth considering. The point he has seen all these issues and with our limited budget managed to bring in during what is seen as a difficult transfer window some options, more time is needed to see if it works. All those wild shouts for imrie need to consider we can't afford compensation and ultimately that Morton squad exceeds our quality levels so why would he have chosen to leave a club he has turned around to walk into a (smaller club) with a worse financial mess?
