  1. Maybe we just see good performances on occasion from poor players and the rest of the time they perform to their level?
  2. Last statement is the point. The club should have looked weeks ago at where we are and our capabilities along with what and who we have next season. The youngsters should be in NOW getting game time while we are not realistically going to make the play-offs and if we did then it'll be an embarrassing **** show for the club and league. Start being realistic and look to build a plan moving forwards - if Robbo is here 4 years then we need to stop short term year on year fire fighting. Thats because like this season we were mainly ***** and if it wasn't for the run of 10 or 12 games at the end of the season when Oakley & Austin hit form then Robbo might have been gone. The 'feel good' factor for many at the end of the season masked just how bad we really were. Fans need to realise where we are and what is needed - short term fixes signing jobbers and journeymen don't work and if the club did start to invest more in youth and we could see a young side starting to progress and the sense its building for the future with a decent style of play then fans will renew & maybe even see small increases in footfall.
  3. A change of strategy right thru the club is needed from playing staff and approach to how the club interacts. There are some who are not of the quality required, some who have gotten stale and over stayed and some who have no interest and others with no clue. If those present can't step up and address then wholesale change is needed but itll never happen so just got to lower expectations and accept.
  4. I hope we miss the play offs as it'll be a real wake up call to the players, management, board and fans. Otherwise we are in danger of too many parties patting each other's backs that the season was a success and masks where we are. The fact we can even be considered in contention still is damning of the lack of quality in the league. We are ***** and our record and number of points show it - 7 wins in 24 isn't a level which should be deemed acceptable.
  5. Not suggesting to break or cancel contracts though . The point is that a significant amount of playing time and money is spent on injuries - which nobody seems to think is poor management from the club - either in terms of financially or player physical well being. Therefore does the recruitment & medical process need to be reviewed or the training & coaching methods.
  6. While its speculation, I'd be keen to understand how much in terms of % of budget is being paid to injured players over the last few years and for our players how many games are missed by those. Also lets not forget that all of the following left the club and needed operations or recovery time as they played through injuries - Mckay, Meekings, Draper, Tansey. While I accept players can get injured our list of crocks is significant and for a small club with limited budget we cannot afford to keep paying wages for guys who never play!!!
  7. Possibly, however it cannot be good business sense to sign players who have legs of glass. Our list of injuries over the last 3 years has been horrendous and not all of those players have poor injury histories, so unless we are training on concrete then there has to be other reasons.
  8. We couldn't have afforded to keep jake and given his lack of development over the time with us I'm not sure the coaching we have would have got any real value out of him. He just seemed like a highly paid passenger who frustrated the fans as we knew he had pace and potential ability but nobody knew how to in lock it. As for beith it's a shame if injury has ruined his career but ict have to look at why we have over the recent years not just had so many injuries but an inability to detect players t high risk prior to signing and lack of rehabilitation skills. Wish him all the best if gone but this is yet another example of poor communication and lack of proper management in his recruitment.
  9. Don't see any clubs employing any of our other ex-managers either
  10. I never thought we had so many fans that genuinely believe that winning a Scottish Cup isnt actually a real achievement and think the manager doesn't deserve recognition for that. Regardless of what fans think and the high regard they have for Pele and Robbo the facts are Yogi has SC winners on his CV and these guys dont. Perhaps its a sign of the Football Manager generation who think that if they can win the CL with ICT then in real life its that easy too!!!!
  11. But that would be basing it on ability which considers lesser paid players playing at a higher level for less money than their peers (Shinnie, Christie, Watkins etc etc), whereas 90% of the comments on this thread relate to budgets and how much money Yogi had. On that basis only Hamilton and possibly St Mirren had budgets similar or lesser than ours in that league, therefore we should not have been anywhere else other than the lower end of the table. Cant argue Yogi wasted money if he finished higher in the league and was more successful than his budget should have allowed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014–15_Scottish_Premiership
  12. Rather than still celebrate the fact we managed to win the Scottish Cup and appreciate the achievement of the team and manager ignoring the fact that while he may have had a high budget for ICT, it was nowhere near the highest or even 3rd highest budget in Scottish football yet managed to deliver a trophy and a 3rd place league finish - showing significant over-achievement. Realistically we should never have got to cup finals and spent the season fighting relegation with Hamilton!!!

Maybe getting better quality service, guess we will see by the end of the season but perhaps it's not the stats that suggest out or forwards are guff but the lack of quality around them?
  14. Well the subject of this topic was pretty interesting at looking forwards ?
  15. I'm bored of reading about Hughes, foran and where it went wrong and who was right. It's done. Let's move on.
  16. This time, but the previous success he had that wasn't the case and i think many choose to conveniently forget that, with several players being Premiership quality and experience such as Brown, Mann, Duncan, Bingham, Keogh, Mackie. There is no way given the current budget we can afford players near this quality with Polly, Tremarco & Donaldson being the only guys in our squad that could be considered near that level. Realism has to prevail within supporters eventually. Infact for much of out meteoric rise we had a budget above that of our peers in the lower leagues.
  17. And may well be again, if attendances continue to fall our playing budget will continue to be cut. Hence why as we are pretty safe for another season on Championship football and highly unlikely to get promotion then I feel we need to give more youth time in preparation for next year - otherwise we will cut more experienced guys (even if some are jobbers) and end up throwing in inexperienced youth when circumstances count against us - making us more likely to be at the lower end of the table than the upper. Afterall its not unheard of for full time teams to end up in League 1 where we will be part-time unless we end up at that stage sooner.
  18. Well the way I see it there's 3 options 1. Address the situation 2. Move seat (plenty options considering so many moaning about low crowds) 3. Ignore it and get on with life Posting online isn't one that's worthwhile or will do anything positive and will in fact potentially make others not want to go to matches if they think this is rife.
  19. Well now you've posted on CTO it'll make all the difference and I'm sure your matchday experience next time will be instantly better instead of having the issue addressed at the time and the culprit warned such that they understand what is acceptable and may modify future behaviour.
  20. Both home & away players & management shouting & swearing at each other on field are as bad at times. Problem is with such a small stadium & fanbase its easily heard. Watch games on TV and see those on the park mouthing and yelling abuse at officials and opponents - no wonder some less educated fans think its acceptable behaviour at football (or even on the street). We have stewards at the club and the management issued out an acceptable behaviour guide, if fans feel this is being broken then they need to approach the offending party and tell them to stop (if they feel comfortable) or get the stewards/authorities to do it. This what they are paid for and if this isn't happening then it should be highlighted to the club as they may be unaware that the service they pay for is not being conducted properly. No point moaning about these things on CTO as nothing will change unless those who witness or feel victimised step forwards and demand action,
  21. Perhaps, but the world has moved on from kids wanting to kick about in the park and follow football teams - sit in the cold drinking watered down luke warm tea and stale pies. We now have a society and generation where multimedia and technology is all the rage, kids have opportunities and access for pursuits that most of us would never have had. Its not just football support that is suffering, its anything that involves leaving the house and human interaction - shops, restaurants, theatre, cinema - people can do this from in their own homes and kids are at the forefront of this. Unfortunately what football has to offer generally may not be what people want anymore plus football is a hard sell - at clubs like ICT even more so than 'big clubs' - its all been discussed before - location, costs, weather. catering, entertainment etc etc. Facts are there's almost an infinite amount of 'better' ways to spend £30 on a Saturday afternoon. Clubs need to understand that society is changing and have marketing/media/social media managers who know how to reach the public and youth if not they will get left behind and forgotten and for all the money ICT have spent on a communications & marketing manager we are awful at it.
  22. Need to step back as too many only remember good times and been spoilt by recent success. There's clubs much older and better supported that would be envious of what ict have achieved. Right now its a downwards trajectory but we need to support the club and get a stable platform to build the next wave of success however that must also be realistic in expectations. Thoughts of cup wins, finals and ventures to Europe are rarity and can't be expected as the norm. Pit a plan in place to develop talent and maintain sensible costs and we as fans should back the club - the lack of leadership and transparency needs to be addressed now to encourage continued support next season from anyone other than die hards
  23. A video of something uninteresting happening in a place of no significance involving a party that no relevance. Good stuff - can't wait for follow ups to this.
  24. Then if the board host gigs and events there will be complaints if the pitch is wrecked for upcoming games.
  25. Inclusion of ST holders whether present or not is standard practise for all clubs as technically those seats are sold - empty or not on the day. Don't see it as an issue.
