ICT v Celtic Match thread
i had a problem with doran today. every time he was challenged he would either go to ground or stop and put his hands up and moan to referee for a foul. he has been at this for some time and i think referees are hacked off with him. couple of times today he would go past someone, he is tugged or touched he stops and puts his arms up. referees have sussed him out and are not giving him decisions he should be getting because of it. needs to learn the basic rule in football, play to the whistle. also needs to believe in his own ability. 2nd half he was quite good and hit the byeline a couple of times. he needs to do this more often instead of going sideways or turning back. we miss the direct running of a certain j hayes, something i hoped doran would replace this season.

at 2-1 we were going to get a chance and it fell to billy " he doesent score when he wants anymore" mackay, pot that one and we have something to defend. seemed to take an age to set himself up, but against quality players you dont get that. maybe looked different on telly top six would be a fantastic finish but with only 9 points between 2nd and 11th i fear we may miss out again. when suspensions and maybe injuries occur we have nil on the bench to come in.

Has the Semi Final defeat got to the players?
i dont think it has i have said on forum repeatedly that we have a team of eleven that picks it self every week. we have been lucky with suspensions and injuries up to now. the players must be knackered travelling 3 times this week, playing extra time, against good teams. think tel said it himself in interview today after game that when foran and "our best" player shinnie were taken off we have only youngsters on the bench. killie had hefferman who came on and scored 2 goals. he was stating the fact that we have a squad short of depth. sounded down out of 2 cups, surely barnsley not on his mind

What word.......?
F.F.S when he came on as a sub. i dont rate him, never have from day one cool light of next day. he only did what better players than him have done and will do again. lay off the boy mackay is the real reason we are not in the final with what could be our only chance of a MAJOR competition win. dont subscribe to the crap that this is a diddy cup. who knows when this team is dismantled at the end of the season, players going/ coming will we ever have the chance again. mackays miss was so bad he is on bbc online sport as the "miss of the season" but then what about other players doran was poor, draper could not cope with the hearts young boys who were too quick for him, his touch and passing were bad ( fresh air swipe on one clearance). what about tony going early for every penalty, websters pen was rolled past him just about down the middle with no pace at all.

Danny Wilson Ineligible?
gaurdian newspapers ewen murray that well known jambo supporter from inverness Guardian's Ewan Murray - Re. Danny Wilson "suspension" rumours.. checked this out with SFA/SFL. Wasn't banned for yesterday, Hearts had pre-checked this.English bans seem non-tournament specific. No ban listed at all on his international transfer certificate when he returned to Scotland.

ICT -V- Hearts
what a disapponitment. we had the chances to win yesterday but on overall play hearts looked the better team, more comfortable on the ball. just watched the highlights on line and this confirmed it for me. last week against aberdeen draper struggled to cope with smaller player cammy smith and was the same yesterday. had a few sliced clearances/passes and one fresh air swipe. first touch was poor with smaller players biting at his heels and when the ball was headed back for hearts equaliser he should have won the header to stop it considering his size. on the highlights package the commentator says that when mackay through 1 on 1 with keeper on first half " you would have bet your mortgage on him scoring". sorry not from what i have seen the last couple of seasons. mackay not very good in this situation, bit like tade, ok that may be a bit unfair. thought dorran was poor yesterday and rightfully hooked. there were others also but maybe its just because hearts were better/ more up for it. once we scored we went back to the style of pumping high balls to mackay, webster, zallliuckus " or what ever his name is" were not even having to jump to win the ball. oh for a big brewster/ngoo style player who can compete and hold the ball cant remember raven going forward at all yesterday, he seemed under pressure at all times, no chance to get forward and play the silky one two's, or the crosses to create scoring chances could not believe when roberts came on. i have never rated him and yesterday as on many other occassions he lost the ball very easily. sad to admit when he took the penalty i had absoloutely no confidence in him. suggested to the person next to me the esson scenario but would have been unfair on reflection although regeuro did not get near to any of the hearts penalties. i was scathing of roberts yesterday but in the cool light of day he has done what players who are on a different planet from him have done and will do in the future -- he missed a penalty. hey ho it happens move on. have said on here before that we have a team of eleven players that picks itself each week, and have nothing in reserve. worrying when injuries and suspensions start to kick in. shocked that a team like hearts who have put out the begging bowl to their supporters to survive to the summer can take in big money players like wilson and ngoo. all in all a dissapointing ocassion. is there better to come or have we seen the peak. next few weeks will tell oh nearly forgot what about mackays tap in. what the **** was he playing at. that was a "hampden here we come, game over, the fat lady had sung, get the champaigne out", moment. andy shinnie amazement on his face, could not believe what he had just seen. get the close up on the online highlights

ICT fans leaving aberdeen game early
afraid i was an offender. 4 of us left 5 mins early. was going out for a meal that evening with the wife and as i take 6 year old to games and he lives in deep county land i had to get off to a flyer to get him home and then get my self back to go out. sorry if i am a disgrace, oh i dont pay for 90 minutes football i purchased 4 season tickets each year for the last 3 years, 3 the years before that, where i sit there are not many people around so dont think i spoil anyones view, dont think i miss much action as i have been at nearly every home game since ict have been at tulloch stadium- holidays abroad in november not counted , not a rangers fan, lastly i usually always wait for final whistle to applaud team off. oh and i think i have been known to take "some excitement" in my time think thats it covered.

did we not offer hayes the best deal ever to an ict player ?. could not see us paying a player the higest wage ever and not even having him on the bench. if he was still here he would be first name on teamsheet every week for me Whether you play someone should depend on how well they are playing and not on how much they are being paid. He was dross today. If he was out of contract there is no way Butcher would offer him as much to return here as he offered him to stay. did we not offer hayes the best deal ever to an ict player ?. could not see us paying a player the higest wage ever and not even having him on the bench. if he was still here he would be first name on teamsheet every week for me Whether you play someone should depend on how well they are playing and not on how much they are being paid. Proposed new league structure
Has this model been tried before? The system was tried in Austria 20 years ago but lasted only eight seasons and was not considered to be a success. Switzerland also adopted a similar model, running from 1988. Falling attendances and a drop-off in TV money and sponsorship led to it being abandoned in 2003.

http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/aberdeen/209239-explained-how-the-scottish-football-league-reconstruction-model-would-work/ Prizes In theory, there would be six distinct competitive groups to be won. There would be the ultimate prize, the league championship, which the winners of the Title Group would be awarded. The winner of the Premiership's first phase, which ends after 22 games, may also be rewarded, as may the winners of the Championship first phase, the team finishing top in the Play-off Group and the team which is in first place in the Relegation Group. The winners of the National League would also win a trophy. It is understood the SPL and SFL are keen to incentivise each element of the season in order to give teams the sense of playing for something, even if they are in Relegation Group in the second phase. More recently, Georgia introduced the 8-8 split. However, below the top-flight Umaslegi Liga the second tier is in two groups, so the top two from each entered the promotion/relegation group. This year, Georgia has modified the set-up, keeping a top flight of 12 but now introducing a 6-10 split after two rounds.

Proposed new league structure
big discussion on open all mics today. alan preston asked the same question and john robertson questioned it also. what happens to the trophies for 1st div 2nd div etc. teams in "championship" are not playing to win a league any more they are playing for 4 promotion places macnamara at partick pointed out that a team who are adrift at the bottom of the spl before the split and no chance of being in the top 8 would then play youngsters and keep their experienced/ better players fit and ready for the 14 games after the split. while the other 3 in pos 9,10,11 would have to use the better players all the time to try and get into the top 8 to avoid the playoffs richard gordon thought a pennant would be given to the winner of the middle eight at 17:30 on the new phone in that has replaced traynors your call, most of the questions from fans were about rangers not getting promoted this year. the new set up is all about revenue. thomson at dundee utd reckons they will lose 700,00 quid not playing old firm twice if new system is brought in. this system is copied from switzerland/belgium and they ditched it after a few years
-
Absolutely disgraceful
would not like to be the team that finishes 9 out of 12 at the split. say 6 points in front of 10th and maybe 15 points in front of 12th. then by magic the points for teams 9-12 in spl and 1-4 in championship are reset to zero, and the 8 teams play each other, for 4 places in spl or championship. after split have a dip in form due to injury ,( i assume all disciplinary points are reset also to zero) lose players in january transfer window, maybe even loose you manager and bingo you are one of the four to be in next years championship. league placings should be decided over a season and if you finish last or even second last you have no excuses when relegated. load of nonsense.

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Larger fan base and higher salary, yes, although they have one of the lowest average attendances in their league at sub 10k More potential, not at all. They are in the highest league they will ever be in in the forseable future. They have already been turned down becasue the board lacks ambition. Almost every club in their league and many below are larger than them in terms of fan base. They will never qualify for Europe or be in the chase for a major honour anytime soon. There is far more potential at ICT. may be so , but they are still in THE CHAMPIONSHIP. all spl players( victor wanyama apart) and managers( possibly lennon apart) dream of playing/ managing in that league because the premiership is beyond them. the championship is the promised land now for many. (did'nt murphy from motherwell, who is one of this years top spl players,go to a league one team sheffield utd last week, not good enough for the championship ?) tel would be a fool not to go if offered the job. this year with our good form our players and management team have put themselves in the shop window. if terry stays here and our team breaks up whether in the january window or summer window , he will then be back to scouring the lower english leagues for players, trying to persuade them to join a club with the lowest budget in the spl, a league that most in england dont rate. previous players like tansey, cox, gillet etc could not get back to england quick enough. just heard although some on here may have heard already that andrew shinnie is in pre contract talks with aberdeen. starting the break up of our best ever team.???? can tel be bothered starting over again in the summer, when jones, draper, raven who have raised their profile here, start getting offers from down south. as alan preston said on tonights bbc news " butcher has probably taken inverness as far as he could have taken them" time for another challenge ?

I would agree that it seems as if we might be losing someone if we are trying to bring in another defender. Apart from Hogg's long term injury, and the longer he is out, the less his chances seem for him to make it back to full fitness, we still have King recovering from injury. So why another import, unless someone is leaving? it may be the fact that only st mirren and dundee have a worse defensive record than us Pos Team Pld W D L F A Pts 1. Celtic 21 13 4 4 40 15 43 2.
