A standard 10 coming up the very steep slipway with an Austin 10 (I think) on the ferry in post 86. Commer minibus which were still being produced well into the 70's, British Telecom had them including the vans and a hightop version that was not very stable!

I had a Nicol's anorak! Many years ago Nicol senior put a bag of money on the roof of his van and drove off, think it was 2 grand, cant remember if it was ever found!

That's an old one IHE! We now have the Premier Inn and the Kitchen Restaurant where the Palace Bingo was and the building to the left Good one of the Jacobite Queen.

Triumph Herald with an Austin or Morris 11 or 13 hundred behind. They were the panda cars when I moved into Inverness in 1968 they were light blue with white doors. I don't remember Lipton off sales up stairs but I was just a boy then! Clydesdale TV was there for a long time, the Army Careers is now for all Armed Services and Lipton supermarket closed in the 70's.

No works do but a few weddings including my own in 1982 and my sons in 2012. No Ford Popular or Sunbeam Talbot for our wedding we had a Bentley.

Yes cherry island is very small Charles, I was just being smart as there is an island on Loch Ness. It is time IHE told us where it was or he might not know!

I think the majority of the people in Inverness think the same Scotty but our elected councilors know better! these animations show how they hope to keep things flowing .... still think a raised bridge or a tunnel would have been the way to go ....

That was my first thought, but there was no other ferry. The Glenelg to Kylerhea ferry with what looks like a Morris 10. Could that be a steamer going from Kyle to Mallaig?

Stupid of me, I'd forgotten this thread's title when I suggested Hilton. The shops in Tomatin Road look the same with tiles on the front and flats above must have been built about the same time, I am sure IHE might have a photo! A lot of cars in that one IHE I will give it a rest for tonight, I prefer the older ones!

Yes it was still referred to as the baths in the late 60's when you had a card and got in free after school, that was in the good old days when you also got free milk in school
