  1. And ye need tae gae intae the Market Bar and ask fir an haff and a haff. Must do for all tourists, and no its not a trick, just our way for ordering a beer and chaser. Get a haggis curry for home also from the Caledonian curry company, available in some good shops, and online. Is Coventry near that Black country place we hear on the final scores, Coventry nil?
  2. If Dundee St J is a derby, surely Arabs v Saint J is too. New firm derbies, A9 Derbies, A96 Derbies. Third division has gained two derby rivals too, Clyde and Queens P v The Rangers, but they will have to work on the new rivalry against the newcomers
  3. OH :maniac: MY GOD. I NO LIKEY
  4. Thankfully I have missed all this panic panic scenario, with the inevitable finger pointing and back stabbing. I had an affair with Stella and Finlandia for a few days, and just now the Rennies aren't working, hey ho hic. The Rangers will stay in the 3rd division, because all the clubs did what the fans wanted. However, it seems everyone is upset at the SFL clubs turning down the opportunity of setting the wheels in motion to reform the leagues. I do not think this opportunity has been missed, just merely postponed. The SFL clubs did what was the most important thing on the agenda, punished Rangers for their misdemeanors. With The Rangers out of the SPL, the SPL chairmen now have the opportunity to spark Scottish football back on the right track. First to abolish this stupid 11-1 vote, sort out the fairness of the money distribution, and then get what the fans want, and not the Doncaster demands, no to 10, yes to 14 and the 16, increased promotion and relegation, and lets get the pyramid in place. One of the reasons attendances have been falling, forgetting the recession thing, is our enduring seeing the same teams 4 times a season, with managers keen to avoid relegation at all costs with negative footie. A more open league will improve the standard of games, and can attract more fans. I dont think the chance has passed us by, merely the sfl approval to get it motion, but only because it was attached to The Rangers only getting a slapped wrist. Kenny is right to shout doom if we dont change, we have to move with the times, and with what people want, different teams, open football to entertain, and fairness. So will we be getting foreign referees again, or is that going tooo far
  5. Cant see them doing very well and with no real competition in the league will lose players and get weaker, in my opinion. Rather the opposite can see Scottish football falling down the rankings. When Scottish football was having its better days in Europe, our clubs had little money, as did the rest of Europe, but now most other leagues will be stronger than ours and results will show I expect

My understanding is that OTJ and Hoggy will be nursed through Pre season, having both recovered from operations, but both are progressing very well. So rather that over strech them and cause a set back, they are just getting them stronger and fitter for now
  7. Elgin drew 3-3 with Cowdenbeath on Friday I think after being 3-0 up, and they played Rothes last night winning 3-0 but seemingly missed loads and a keeper on loan from Aberdeen making loads of saves
  8. For a start Celtic wouldnt agree to paying up front, think they take a 10% cut of what they sell, and take weeks to pay up aswell. Games average around the 6000 mark for Celtic, which means 3500 ICT fans wouldnt squeeze into the Main stand. Non starter for me.
  9. QP FC,,,,,will the first or third division have games on Sundays now or odd kick offs on a Saturday????? And will the MacGregors be attending any of their Sunday matches

CaleyD, £ 500k, I was just being ironic. I know how close to the wind we are sailing

We all know that if sky pulled out with Rangers in the third division we would get some kind of deal from another company, but how much less would it be. If it made a difference of £ 500,000 PER CLUB, look at what happened to us when we were relegated, that was £ 1,000,000 less in the season. So it wouldnt be so bad, only half the staff we lost times 12 clubs would be effected, and less quality on the park for players. So it wouldnt be that bad, would it?
  12. Think the Thunderton is now called the Granary, Belhaven pub like Exchange and Auctioneers. Elgin also have a few ex ICT lads, although I understand Barry Wilson is no longer their

Personally I feel that Rangers have to pay the price, but who should they compensate? As many of Scotlands Football league teams as possible, so if they enter the SFL 3, they will provide added income to all teams which they will pass on the way back up the leagues, apart from those relegated the season they go up. So I propose that Rangers are to play pre season friendlies against those teams who miss out.
  14. bauhaus replied to bauhaus's topic in Caley Thistle
Seems that Brora have quite a few old Caley boys now. Dale Gillespie, Stuart Golabeck, Andrew Chubbs Greig, Richie Hart, Grant Innes, Tom Smith and Chris Moir.
  15. But SKY contract will be in forch this coming season, its the following season its due for renewal.

Lightning should not be allowed to strike twice, just ask Dundee fans, or Portsmouth etc. Division THREE for the knuckle draggers. Saw a fans poll from the Scotsman online this morning. Asking fans where the Newco should play their football this season. Results were SPL 2%, SFL 1 only 2%, SFL 2 only 0.5%, and 32,000 plus had said DIV 3, says it all, listen to the fans SPL/SFL/SFA
  17. With Kilmarnock being the only club, apart from Rangers, to not vote for kicking Rangers out of the SPL, is this an indication that they are the next club likely to go into administration. They have been making all sorts of noises regarding the implications of no Newco. Have they now nailed their colours to the mast regarding their own finances?
  18. bauhaus replied to Libero's topic in General Football
Sky sports saying if they get into the sfl he will sign, will be offered more cash than at Hearts, so if its a good back balance you want, doesnt matter which league.
  19. Officially chucked out of the SPL even though Neil Doncaster wanted them to delay voting until after the SFL vote. Just incase they wont let them in either I bet!
  20. Gringo Jnr, that top looks red and black stripes. I'll have twenty for the next twenty seasons, looks class so it does.
  21. Toks will always be our legend, no matter what he does at County, mind you it would be total legend if he gets them relegated. We should name something after him, Tokely's Bar, Toke's End, etc etc so his legend lives on
  22. But is it the Spanish attacking version or the Levein defensive formation

Oddquine I think you gave yourself the answer to asking why thy didnt have a plan for this. The SFA/SPL/SFL have hardly been the best of buddies, and all were probably burying their head in the sand. I do hope that if The Rangers get out of this mess and end up in the SFL somewhere, these useless administrators do not put new rules and laws in place which would mean the next ones to go into admin dont suffer from the new regulations, as they will likely only end up in admin due to The Rangers no longer being in the league. They have all chased the money, all clubs, and stretch their clubs to try and get success. Everyone of the top clubs in our country have had money problems, and hey look at Europe, Real Madrid in over £1000 million of debt, Man Utd were £ 860 MILLION in debt etc etc etc. Without the SKY money Scottish football will fall down a casm, teams will have to cut back huge amounts of money, teams will become poorer, fans will grumble even more about the lack of quality, and soon it will be Celtic looking at englandshire lower leagues, whereas the rest will lose players to the englandshire non leagues even. It is a very very brave decision from the spl chairmen, for sporting integrity, which is likely to have very serious consequences for our national league, and the possibility of 2 or 3 other clubs going into administration too. 3rd, 2nd and 1st divisions should be the beneficiaries of Oldco mismanagement, at least here's hoping.
  24. We have had the pleasure of watching the best club side ever in Barcelona, and now the best National side ever in Spain. And to do that with two of their best layers not even at the tournament because of injury. Think that Spain team is better that the Brazil of 1970, but it will never be proved, apart from the fact that Spain have now done the most unique treble ever, something that Brazilian team couldnt do. And to think that 8 of those players tonight came through the Barca youth system, and there were more on the unused subs. Awsome
  25. Black stripes to represent the Jail end?
