  1. Cant wait until its done. Cant see how it will add to the traffic in the city center, quite the opposite. But agree, rather they missed Whin Park, Torvean and the Canal pitches.
  2. I heard that Alex Miller, former Hibs manager, Liverpool Assistant Manager has applied for the post. Has been managing and coaching in Russia and Japan of late. Not bowled over by him, but experienced. Rather a young determined manger from the lower leagues looking to improve on his early success in his first post. Thankfully seeeeeethe has declared himself not in the running. Did not even think he would have been, and we are not big enough for Levein - hope that comes back to bite him, maybe he is holding out for the Barca job since he was the first to use their 4-6-0 formation
  3. What a boost. The lure of staying at ICT was stronger than following Terry and Mo. Now everyone should give our Captain the respect he deserves. And support the team in numbers.
  4. At the moment I can not see past the two favorites. Levein and Hartley, one very experienced and one up and coming hungry manager. Levein is the safe hands option, and I beleive if he took the job on he would completely change our youth system, for the better. Not saying the youth coaches aren't good enough, it the way the training is done I think. Dundee Utd and Hearts youth are testament to that with players being quoted as worth £millions. The evidence is that Levein does very well at club level, and can find very excellent footballers without spending money. Dundee Utd were looked as being the best footballing team outwith the old firm, played on the deck with players to suit. His days at Hearts were very different, as he was given players who were the Chairmans choice. If we want to remain as a force in Scottish football, finish in the top half more often then this is the best option. Hartley was talked about on Radio Scotland yesterday. Became manager of Alloa in the third division, pre season they had ONE player signed for the up coming season, so he put a team together that won the league that season, following season got them promoted via the playoffs and now sit 4th in the Championship. Young, talented, determined, and seemingly old school manager who does it by the book. He was a winner as a player, and seems to be taking that on into management. Never liked him as a player, but that was probably because he always played well against us and hurt us, and always appeared to give 100% for Perth, Hibs, Hearts, Dons and Celts. Paul Hartley can obviously spot a player, but can he do it at SPFL level. I think he could, but its more of a gamble than Levein. They all thought that Hartley would not be at Alloa much longer, as every vacancy now would have him connected. I feel we should stop the rumours and make Paul Hartley ours, and take the wee gamble. Both appear deep thinkers about the game, rather than being all mouth. As for the other names being touted, non really excite me, most really annoy and depress me. Jimmy Calderwood has probably been out of the game too long now, but although I dont like him much, I think in time he would be good for us. Barry Wilson, too much of a step up from HL to SPFL to be No1 but a very good shout as No 2. Kenny Shiels would be the worst choice in my opinion, as bad as a Neil Lennon with foot in mouth comments, and still can not forgrt his complaint about having to travel all the way up that A9, well every second week you would have to travel down that A9, Alex McLeish - no chance, we are not big enough for him at this stage of his career. Said as much on Radio Scotland yesterday. Di Canio, Di Matteo etc - Dream on, we couldnt afford them, and one I would never ever let near our dug out. Paul Sheerin - Again better as a No 2 at this stage. Has done well in management, but hasn't stood out IMO. Kenny Cameron has said in a statement that we have had applications from all over Europe, and from South America. It would be intreging to find out the credentials of these people. Is it Ossie Ardiles, and some Spanish and Italian managers who are out of work. But the danger of that is they try to take in what they know, and a team full of 6 or 7 unknown Spanish or Italian players is not the way forward for our classy team. Onwards and upwards, Hartley or Levein please Kenny
  5. Bang on Mary H, Reading between the lines, his 50/50 is between his loyalty to Tel and Mo, and his enjoyment of our success. What I think he means with his decision in a few weeks will be based on who the new man is, and if he is offered a player coaching roll by the unknown new manager. If he were to go to Hibs, and Bitcher lasted two years, I've no doubt he would join the coaching staff with Tel and Mo, but will they turn Hibs around, will they last the two years, that would be a risky decision. He would be much better off finacally if it worked out, however ICT are definitely the more secure choice,
  6. Now thats lateral thinking !! Loving it Nah, most Dingwall fans would support Hearts. Completely neutral would be Grant Street Park, Merkinch. See if any Hearts fans would be happy at that. We get three sides of the stadium, they get the wee stand. Fair play!
  7. Sorry. I just can not understand why anyone would be touting Kevin MacDonald for manager, coach yes, manager no. His record was so similar to Mo Malpas and spookily both were disasters at Swindon Town. Gus MacPherson had his teams play anti football, defensive low scorers. Kenny Shiels nah big mouth strikes again. Would cost the club too much in fines with the strange decisions we seem to get off many refs. Seems to be between Craig Levein and Paul Hartley with the fans. I think both would be safe, and be likely to keep us up at our current dizzy heights. Levein had a good record against the Dons and Perth, whereas Hartley played for them both. Levein is certainly determined and really good with the youth and club set up, Hartley was a winner as a player, and seems to be a winner as a manager - he can also spot a decent player, as when he signed for Alloa they only had a couple of players signed, and they won the league. Levein to me would be safe, Hartley could be a hidden gem. The latter to me would be the more likely to move on to a bigger club
  8. Best by a country mile Richie Foran and Marsalla, followed by Draper, Meekings, Warren, Doran, Hayes and Mckay. Also early signs of Tremarco and Watkins Worst Stratford, Gnapka, Blumenstein, Aldred or Blackman. There has been a few really, but we remember the good signings better.
  9. I wonder if Craig Levein would be prepared to take one Richie Foran on as assitant, What may well happen is the wanted list will have two categories, those who will be free ( out oof work ) and those we would have to pay a fee for
  10. If Malpas wanted to stay, How about offering the player managers role to Richie Foran. Mo is the coach, Foran the tactician and motivator. I would be very happy with that, and I dont think Mo would be disappointed, as he is happiest on the training pitch with the players
  11. Dont think so. They are saying they will make some games free to air. How that will work I don't know unless they plan selling them to one of the freeview / freesat channels. Alex I understand that the money goes into the Bank of UEFA, but when the likes of Utd or Celtic, Arsenal or Chelsea qualify for the group stages, they are guaranteed so many £millions (about £ 10m in Celtics case ) but they always get quoted as with group stages games getting around £4 million on top in Celtics case. the likes of Man U and Barca get even more, so how much will this increase their share. 32 clubs make the group stages of the CL, with £ 300m a season more in the pot. As for the free to air thing, they do that already. Our tv in the kitchen has free view built in compared to sky in the other rooms. Sometimes when I'm flicking through the channels one by one to find something of interest, the BT channels are free to view, as I've watched a good few games on it. So thats what they may mean by making them free to air.
  12. Yep, BT have won exclusive rights to all games. think this is for European Champions League and Europa League games only. Exclusive rights, but the money is to only go to the teams competing in Europe, so it will widen the gap between the top of the league and everyone else even more. Sky still have the SPFL and Premiership deal with BT. Wonder how much the Champions League clubs will get per season? share of £900 million over 3 seasons, split between probably 8 clubs per season in the UK, £ 300 million per season, even if they get £10 -15 million more a season it will make getting into the Champions league each season even harder for those not already qualifying, and that includes us against Celtic. Whats our budget £ 3m against £ 60m, yet whats Man Utd or Real Madrid £2-300 m? Level playing fields gone forever, not that its been fair for long enough
  13. Kevin is recognised as a really good coach, but he has been given two chances as manager at Villa and Swindon and been a total disaster at both of them. Wonder if Craig Levein would consider taking Richie Foran on as Assistant, otherwise I can see Richie following Tel for a small fee. I also hope that our Board are wise enough to get a clause in the termination of Terrys contract to stop him plucking away our better players, Ie Ross, Shinnie, Mckay, Doran, Meekings, Warren, Draper, Tremarco, Raven, Polworth, etc etc
  14. Potential new managers seemingly at the game. Craig Levein and Kenny Miller, both would be impressed with Thistle, and probably thinking glad its not Hibs
  15. Reported on BBC Kenny Miller watching ICT at Easter Road today, having just recently left his team in Canada he is looking for a return to Scotland. Is he looking to return to Hibs, or could he have been invited by the ICT board. Craig Levein also at Easter Road. Personally I'd take the more experienced of the two, hands down

  17. Just to throw another name into the mix, after the mention of Barry Ferguson, who I would not be against ( as he is well respected in the game to attract better players to come to play for him ) How about Kenny Miller, as he is seemingly looking to come back to Scotland.Ideal opportunity to for a young ambitious and hungry manager, if thats what the board will be looking for.
  18. Jimmy Nicol to take the Hibees team on Saturday, no matter what happens with Terry.
  19. I do like the idea of Richie Foran player manager. As if Tel goes to Hibs, he will likely try to sign Richie at Christmas window, but who would Richie trust as an assistant,
  20. First choice would be new contracts for Tel, Mo and Steve. However if the bbc's mole is right, and Tel's agent has got involved then the list goes Kenny Shiels - you cannot be serious, get your union jacks flying Jimmy five bellies Tangerine Calderwood - does well and would do well up here, but not too popular with our support Craig Levein - best shout of experienced managers, tainted by Scotland stint, but whoever takes a chance on him will get a very very good club manager, especially when you see what benefits Dunde Utd are starting to get with his overhaul of the youth training system now producing Paul Hartley - done wonders at Alloa, but always more suited to County for me Paul Sheerin - doing well but too early for me Colin Cameron - worth a punt, doing better than Cowdenbeath can dream off Ian Murray - another good shout for me, done brilliant with The Sons, but might be too early for him Paulo di Canio - no way Tony Mowbray - Maybe worth considering, if he would consider us. Boro went a bit Brewster on him though. Ally McCoist - seems to be doing well with a new club, but question marks on whether he would move up to the SPFL, and working with a smaller budget. Chris Sutton - something makes me think he would do well, very calm deep thinker. Henrik Larsen - would be a stepping stone if he did well, but we want our managers to be successful, and inevitably they will m,ove on if that is the case Ian Holloway - would be entertaining, could we afford him, if he would come here, yes please
