Marius Niculae
I have been one of Niculae's biggest defender on here and will continue to be. For me he was pretty rubbish on Saturday. But in saying that his performances have justified him staying in the team and should still be in the team again on Saturday. He should have had 2 goals on Saturday, the 1st one he was unlucky the boy cleared it off the line but the 2nd with the header at the start of the 2nd he should have scored. But as I keep on saying Wyness and Niculae is working!!! Wyness hasn't suddenly become a great SPL striker on his own. before the start of the season I was thinking time up for Wyness because he hadn't done a thing in the SPL. Now he is playing with someone he's clicked with up front, so the fans want Bayne back in so we can hoof it up to him. Not a critisim of Bayne as I still think he's a really good player. Finally about the money, if it was such a big upheaval financially for the club he wouldn't be here. We can obviously afford it so everyone shut up about it!!

As usual i cannot agree with this. Football is a team game and Marius is part of the team. Marius AND Dennis have formed a good partnership up front, Dennis has improved hugely this season and than in part is down to forming a good partnership. I disagree with putting Bayne on as our style of play changes from passing to hoofing. That is not to say Bayne is a bad player, I think he's a great hard working player but at the moment we seem to be looking to get the ball down and play which suits playing Marius and Dennis. I am not also against playing Brewster, I just feel that with his age he is only ever going to be more and more a bit part player and he knows that himself that is why he is giving the Marius/Dennis partnership a chance. Also 1 final thing, I certainly am not in a state of "hysteria" about Niculae and to keep hearing this is quite patronising to be honest with you. I just feel its unfair to single him out constantly because of what he's getting paid. Which I don't care what anyone says it is the only reason. If we'd got him from Cowdenbeath we'd be raving!

The latest from Mr Savage......
Depends what you put in a new stand. We are crying out for new corporate hospitality facilites. We could move all that over there, put new boxes in the back and some padded seats, similar to aberdeen. We could put in a proper TV gantry and commentary area, with a TV Studio box. In a new stand we could put a bar, gym, kids after school and saturday morning club, office space, physiotherapy room, new club shop anything we can think of. I also think more people would sit in it rather than the North. The north stand could be used by the singers more freely, it would create a better atmosphere as the ground would be closed in. If we did move stuff over to a new stand it would create more room in the main stand we have now. We could have raigmore motel sized concerts, more casino nights, awards evenings, charity dinners, conferences loads of stuff by making some extra room and a little imagination. We could introduce things like a pie and bovril tickets. Pay 20 quid at the start of a season and get a pie and bovril at every game. With a new stand we will make some more money with increased attendance at the big games, maybe even some at smaller games due to the fact we have this new stand. But if we can increase the corporate attendance by even just 200 we could make an extra ?16,000 a game if they're charge ?80 each. With new facilities and private boxes we could probably go higher than ?80 a skull a game. For the old firm you could be talking ?100-?150 per person. I thought a new stand was a load of nonsense at first, but the more i think about it the more it can work. I was thinking somthing along the lines of a scaled down Sheffield Utd stand. http://www.stadiumguide.com/bramalllane.htm (the 1st picture down)

:clapping03: Well done everyone, lets hound the guy out of the club. This is pathetic, in the last 4 games we've scored 11 goals and have looked very good in every game bar maybe the Kilmarnock game. Marius has played his part in these games as much as everyone else in the team has. Ok he's no god and no "messiah" but who is saying that he is one? He has contributed as much in attack as Dennis Wyness, Wyness has had the luck as 2 of his goals (against hearts and Gretna) have been from a yard out! The fact is you have to pay money to get good players, i'm sick to death of us signing players from the lower leagues who could develop. The fact is we've stuck our necks out with this guy, paid him a reasonable wage for a striker in the SPL and he's come in and looked an SPL player. Everyone seems to think we're paying him astronomical money, but the fact is if he went to any other SPL team he could get more except from Gretna. He's no Rooney thats for sure but he's done enough to look a good SPL player!

Time to drop Fraser
I can't say that I ever really feel confident when Fraser is in goals but the alternative isn't that great either. I have to say that I find it a bit silly that we send 2 other youngsters with little experience out on loan to Elgin but yet we throw a young keeper straight into the SPL. He should have been away out on loan somwhere first. I mean Zander Sutherland has taken Elgin by storm, look at there message boards, they think he's amazing!! He will be a **** of a player when he comes back!!

Jobs worths
Was sitting 2 rows in front of the "offender" in the main stand on Saturday (will also point out my season ticket is for the north stand) and heard what the steward was saying to him. At first the steward trying to be his mate and saying "you just can't be sitting anywhere" I was laughing as we were just sitting anywhere! Also thinking does it really matter where you sit, as the club have already said its fine to have a North Stand ticket and sit in the "singing section" Once the offender had pointed out a similar theme to this to the steward, the steward then said it was an offence to be under the influence of alcohol in a football stadium. Now in my opinion the "offender" certainly wasn't drunk but merry, the sort of state you want to be in, in a football stadium! After that the next I saw he was getting his name taken and dissappeared. Seriously what are the club doing, I agree that people can't be sitting in other season ticket holders seats, that is only common sense. But when there are clearly spare seats where no one is sitting, whats the problem. I don;t totally agree with a singing section but if you have to have one, set up a section in the North Stand before the season starts for it and use the seats down the side accross from the main stand for old firm fans and hope it rains!! Anyway back to the club, if your going to be this hard on standing etc for home fans, you have to show the same level of stupidity to away fans (which they don't) and that really p1sses me off, because they won't dare do it to Old Firm/Aberdeen fans because the stewards are too scared. Its easy to throw little kids out who don't know any better, but when its some sectarian biggot spouting bile about Catholics and who won't sit down its a whole different ball game to the stewards and ultimatley the club and it just isn't fair. Finally do we have that big a support that we can afford to lose fans for nonsense like this? Crowd was pretty low on Saturday, the team are doing they're bit, the fans are starting to do they're bit, but now its the club letting them down!!!

Marius Niculae
"Don Cowie might not agree with that (above). Towards the end of the first half Niculae tried to take on both their central defenders on the edge of the penalty box... Cowie was un-marked, in space and was screaming for the ball..." He's desperate to score!! He wants off the mark so people can stop going on about why he doesn't deserve his money etc! Remember he has his own web page, so i'm sure he's been on here once or twice reading the comments. I'm sure all he wants to do is impress, its in his interests. I agree with you when you say everyone should deserve about the same in wages after yesterdays games, they should all be getting so much more after that, the best performance i've seen in 2/3 years!

Marius Niculae
The way Marius has been treated by some people is nothing short of disgraceful. Similar to the garbage spouted about John Rankin at the start of last season. Its not his fault he is getting paid a large sum of money and his history certainly suggests he deserves it. GIVE HIM A CHANCE he is getting better match after match as his fitness improves, creates so much and how quickly Falkirk were closing him down today suggests they saw him as the danger man. He is a brilliant player and will only get better, Wyness is getting praise and deservedly so, but Marius has contributed a great deal, ask Ian Black. I have met Marius through work and he is a really nice bloke, not at all arrogant and I can't imagine how he would have disrupted the squad at all. Once he gets off the mark in the SPL there will be no stopping him. Him and Wyness looked fantastic up front today, long may it continue!!!

BREWSTER AND NICULAE
Give the guy a break. He's not going to be a 1 man team, I thought we'd just got over that with John Rankin. People expected him to come in and be driving in shots from 25 yards every game and was totally criticised till he scored 2 goals against Falkirk. What changed there I don't know. But we all accept Rankin is a reasonable player now. So give Marius a break, from what i've seen over 3 or 4 games is that once he's totally fit (remember he's not had a full pre-season and only played a handfull of games at most in the past year) he will be by far our best player. I just think its a shame he's a striker because he is the only one that looks like he could create a chance out of nothing. Everything else so far has been graft and long ball!

Zander/Zander on loan to Elgin (Merged)
Just bump this all the way back to the top. Yet another Zanderless game yesterday. How could he have done any worse than what was out there??? If I was him i'd seriously be considering a move. He's not going to get a game here and i'm sure some team could use a pacy tricky winger with a good shot. Evidently we don't!

ICT V Dundee Utd - matchday thread
Wake up everyone, Utd were dreadful in the first half, misplaced passes etc. We should have been in front at half time! The second half was a perfect example of disasterous defending against an extremely average team. Mccaffrey and Munro is just not going to happen, they were appalling in the 2nd half and Mikey Fraser wasn;t much better. If we don't sign a new keeper we're down, no questions. I have never seen an ICT with so much disorganisation and so little heart after going a goal down. There is no positives from today. Bring back Brew he can do no worse!!!! (and i really don't want him to come back!)

Brewster Permitted to Talk
A mate spotted a happy looking Brewster coming out of the Marriot hotel tonight. I assume he is a CERT to get the job now and will probably be announced tomorrow. I can't for the life of me see what Brewster has over Warnock
-
Brewster NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
I've heard in the past Grassa wasn't really totally happy with Brewster, especially the way he left, so I think we won't be turning to him. I'd be happy with the Pele plus either Cooper, Shearer or dare I say Iain Stewart as assistant. But i'm fairly sure it won't be them either, I think we could be looking at someone like Owen Coyle or Alex Rae. As long as we don't go down the "usual suspects route" a la Alex Smith, Jocky Scott, Craig Brown, Maurice Malpas (vomit)

Zander/Zander on loan to Elgin (Merged)
Well we need to get a result so i'd go all out for an attacking line up ------------------Fraser-------------------- Tokely------Caff-------Munro----Hastings ----------Black------------Duncan------------ -------------------Cowie----------------------- --Zander-----------------------------Niculae-- ---------------------Bayne---------------------- Zander and Niculae playing as attacking midfielders who can join to make 3 up front. At least we'd have 3 players to hoof the ball to rather than the usual 2

Zander/Zander on loan to Elgin (Merged)
Can someone explain why he's not getting a game. Last season I can accept he would be used sparingly, but after his performance at the end of last season v. St.Mirren and he pre-season displays I was looking forward to seeing a lot more from the wee man. But what a surprise he's not given a chance. We have to give the young kids a chance or we'll never develop them. Get Zander in for Saturday!

sectarian singing from the away fans
The fact is while all these old firm fans sing about religion and all the rest of it, they have no real idea THEMSELVES what they're singing about. Its just drummed into them from birth that they must believe in all the rubbish they sing about and that it should mean so much to them. But the fact of the matter is, how many Rangers and Celtic games are on on Sunday afternoons? Every 2nd one!! Now if i'm wrong about this correct me. But if your that into religion that your singing songs and displaying banners and marching about it constantly. If your that into it, why are you not in church Sunday. The stuff they come out with and sing in games is utter bile but i'm not offended by it as they don't even believe it themselves and half of them don't even know what its about. Walking back into the town after the game there must have been a lad about 14 decked out in a union jack and England away shirt. Why?? Its not that he's a religious bigot, he doesn't have a clue about religion. Its just that its been drummed into him to believing thats what being a Rangers fan is about. Its just that he's totally uneductated and his view of life is totally shaped by following a football team. You do get some decent Rangers fans but they always seem to be few and far between!

Charlie looking to sign a couple of new players
2 defenders and maybe a keeper. I know Fraser played well today, but say he got injured after 5 mins. No offence to Ridgers but he's never played league football, I wouldn't feel to confident if he had to come on at Ibrox or Parkhead. To be honest though we've known Dods has been leaving for 8 months, its ridiculous that we haven't got anyone in, what have we been doing!

Rangers Match Reactions - [merged]
Utter garbage from start to finish, with very few positives and pass marks for players. The defence was abysmal, midfield couldn't create a cup of tea with a tea bag and Wyness and McAllister (as usual) looked to scared to put a foot in. I'm not going to criticise Rory as he's basically a kid with zero confidence who could do with going out on loan and banging in a few goals for Elgin or someone. But Wyness, why is he so scared to put a foot in?? Rankin again was rank and doesn't get involved, Barry is a legend who can still do a job but looks totally unfit (see Tokely for that as well) Caff looks as though he hadn't played in the SPL for 3 years. Few positives were Fraser, Black looked ok, especially in 1st half and Hart will have to start next week surely. The most disappointing thing today was that we could create a thing going forward. We were just so negative and defensive. As usual long ball was our only tactic and I think only Dean McDonald when he came on actually won one of those long balls. A lot of work to be done in the first few weeks of the season (again as usual!!)

Marius Niculae Signs For ICT
They signed him 2 years ago and has spent 2 years on loan at PSV because they couldn't get a permit for him. I think if you play in the EU for 5 years and your from an non-EU country you can apply for a permit and get one. Well its like that in Champ Man anyway. SO if that is the case Niculae should get one no problem as he has played in Portugal, Belgium and Germany over the last 5 years. I think its just a case of these things take time. In hindsight we perhaps should have had him signed and a work permit application sent off before we went to Italy. But I don't think the club could have forseen it would have taken this long. Good things come to those who wait!

Broken Toe
I almost put Graham Bayne out of the start of last season! I was golfing at Castleheather, tee'd off at the 11th and sliced it violently towards Bayne and Barry coming up the 10th. Thankfully just missed him and we had a bit of a joke about it after I never thought about till after but i genuinely could have put him out for a couple of months. A mate of mine got his nose broken playing there a few months ago. Not through one of my shots I might add!!

Marius Niculae Signs For ICT
Obviously i hope he does get a work permit. But I always think its strange how the person that needs a work permit is fine to train all week, its just the 90mins on a saturday they're banned from. Was really looking forward to Saturday, whats happened to Marius, Dean and maybe Bayney has soured it a little! I Think we'll see Barry and Denzil up front though, rather than Rory or Wood with Wyness

Pre-Season/Testimonial @ Inverurie Locos
Never really a massive fan of Roy either, was brilliant against Elgin in a defensive midfield area though! I've always though he'd be better their or at left back. Feeling pretty confident now ahead of the new season!
