Well I think the word so far is non plussed. I have only watched the Road to Europe disc so far which consists of brief highlights of most of our games last season. No input from players or management and scant recognition of how we achieved all this despite losing the Premier Leagues top scorer ( it is mentioned). It frustratingly ends with some stills from Romania and i would love to have seen some footage of that. In short there is nothing that you could not have gleaned from watching Sportscene in the wee small hours on a Sunday night. Underwhelmed................there is another word

I am still reliving the events of Saturday over and over. For me they were the culmination of a 20 year long journey that nobody could have foretold ( not even the great Seers on this site!) I grew up an Aberdeen fan:, the city of my birth and most of my upbringing. I was on the terraces during the glory years when history that will never be repeated was made by Alex Ferguson and his brilliant team. When the Inverness merger took place and election to the league was achieved I just knew that this embryonic club was for me. I started making long lonely journeys to far away places from my base in the Border country and Saturdays soon became an addiction. I remember well a conversation with my good friend Wanderer during which we decided to part with some serious money ( for us) and invest in some shares. He too had joined our merry band of supporters. I spent the first couple of years attending matches anonymously; barely speaking to anyone during the course of a game and heading home straight after. Then came visits to the Caley Inn where I first met Scotty and Big Stu, Uncle Albert and Guzz and the Gringos. We graduated to the Innes for pre match craic and here I encountered Caley 100, Caleystan, TM4TJ and his sons, Bronson, Seoras,DJS,Donview Maimie, and LG ( a special mention for you as you have been so good to me over the years) amongst others. This new social aspect to a day out increased the matchday experience immeasurably. The away days were where I first met close buddy Mantis, Yngwie,Ymip and wee Fraser, The Fly ( where he?), Maryhill, Top Six, Govan Jaggie, IHE,Big Don,ITN (Yompa) and family,Big Dougie, King Beastie, Red Card, RIG...........what a gang.! Many regular attendees with whom I chat are,I know, not on this site. I met and married Mrs Naelifts who had to buy into the cause ( I think she had to sign something). She remains the only person to ever enter the Celtic supporters Club at Parkhead wearing an ocelot coat. The story of this constantly evolving club is an outstanding one. I am just so proud today. I have been slapped on the back by so many people who know how much this all means to me. But it would not have been the same without you guys ( and others who I have carelessly omitted). Its been a privilege. As I write this however my thoughts are of Iain and Alison Coia...............how they would have loved all this And so the journey continues...........to foreign fields. Hopefully our ranks will be swelled by some new blood inspired by the efforts of our brave wee team and their manager. As someone said to me recently. .....if those shares had been in a Biotech company or similar, with a growth and success record such as ICT.......I would never have to work again;they would be worth millions! And so on to the next chapter........see y'all there!

Confession time for those who don't know. Pittodrie for me because......................................................................up until 1994...........................................I was a Dons supporter!!! I was a regular at Pittodrie including during all the glory years...........................it was something else and will never be repeated. All in the past now and, twenty years on, i think i can justifiably be judged to have jumped ship for good.

Big Eddie not getting the credit he deserves on here. I thought his hold up and linking play was excellent. A real handful. He may not be deadly in front of goal but he sure tucked away our 2nd. Well done big man..........you have added to our great wee team

I have no problem embracing change SP. It simply would not work. Football has enough to compete with when the weather is foul. In the summer , I believe, other distractions would decimate crowds. The changes we need are in league reconstruction, terracing and innovation in price structuring etc. And Alex.........most of the extra traffic on the A9 is in the form of caravans...........and we know where they are heading!

It is a winter game. End of. People do other stuff in the summer. End of. Bad idea that will never happen. End of.

........continuation of what we saw on Tuesday in Dundee. Our ability to keep the ball and move it about at pace appears to have deserted us, albeit, as Maryhill suggests, in the face of two sides who have been up-and-at-us. Too many players having an off day methinks and the up-and-coming break could be timely. Initially not at all convinced by our new man up front but , as the game went on and on reflection, he did quite well. His was a difficult task, being parachuted into a team of guys he had never even heard of, let alone met and played with. His holding up and linking will be an asset. He won balls in the air. His post-hitting effort looked like a strange contact as it travelled throught he air in slow motion but he buried his goal. Do we get Marley back next week? Motherwells two goals should have been better defended. I left very disappointed. Mrs Naelifts ( bad omen) says " Thats it, never again".but she says that every year. I'll bet she wants to come when we draw St Lucia in Europe! We can't win every game and our recent run has outstripped any sane mans expectations. Still in third place by a margin. So.......keep giving the effort lads.....you can never be accused of not doing that; believe in yourselves; we are where we are on merit.......
