Will just add a bit of spice when we overtake them to top the league after winning the first Highland derby.

0-3 now Oakley. What a brilliant result and a great confidence booster. A world apart from the drubbing we got at East End Park this time last season. Unbeaten in the league since 13th March.

It wouldn't be so bad if one of the chairman's first acts wasn't to issue a statement promising better communication. Why promise something you apparently had no intention of delivering ?

Who would you like to see at ICT next season?
Kingsmills replied to Alan Simpson's topic in Caley Thistle
I agree. He will certainly be kept busy enough between the sticks at Rothes. It could be the making of him. -
Why let it get to that stage without taking action first ?

We couldn't afford to do any of these things when we were in the top half of the Premiership and reaching cup finals. There is no prospect whatsoever of doing it now. Our one and only priority at the moment should be putting a team on the park capable of challenging for promotion.

I very much doubt if we have the funds to add anyone but would be delighted to be proved wrong. -
There is very little wrong with the current location of the stadium if we were able to build three more permanent stands in addition to the single one we have and to retain and properly tarmac the car parks. However, in reality we are struggling to finance putting a team on the park who can compete in the Championship. I am afraid that for the foreseeable future ant thought of moving or developing our current location is pie in the sky. I am sure that the vast majority of us would settle for once more watching top flight football in our wonky three sided ground even if there was a waste facility nearby.

I agree. What a transformation from a year ago.
-
We have Rooney this year too.

As poor as today's performance was, that is a bit defeatist. We can get better. We demonstrated that during the last ten weeks of last season with substantially the same squad of players. What is needed is more commitment, more belief and more consistency. Much of that is down to the players but some of it also to the manager and coaching staff.

Our issues so far this season have not been goalkeeping ones.
-
It's also the club's job to produce a team capable of beating ten part time players at home. They don't seem much good at that either.
-
Don't blame Donaldson at least, unlike any of the forwards on the pitch at the time, he had the courage to take the responsibly.
-
PS Can we please please spend a few hours at training practicing penalties!

That's two consecutive games where we have been at home against newly promoted clubs reduced to ten men relatively early in the match and failed to secure the points. While the draw a fortnight ago was a disappointment, the dropping of three points today was unforgivable. Ayr are resurgent and brimming with confidence and may well 'do a Livingston' and secure back to back promotions. By contrast, Alloa have a tiny budget, were bottom of the table and are very likely to be relegated again come the end of the season. We played quite well until we scored and then, bafflingly, instead of pressing home that advantage, began to freewheel apparently confident that, now we were in the lead, more goals would come naturally. I am sorry but we are not good enough to take anyone for granted in that way. We were gifted the lead and a numerical advantage right at the start of the second half and should have secured ourselves at least a two goal cushion before comic book defending by Rooney, what on earth was he thinking of, cost as dearly in the end. John Robertson is a reasonably competent manager but he has his shortcomings. Last time around he had the experience and guile of Donald Park to rely on together with the talented and tight knit squad assembled by Steve Paterson. Now he has the benefit of neither and it shows. I doubt we can afford to replace him and I doubt we could afford anyone better to replace him even if we could. There is no need to panic YET.However, he, the coaches and the players will have to do a great deal better between now and the end of the year if we are not to become detached from the promotion race.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to post this. Much appreciated and well done to the young lads for yet another fine result.

Sadly, events seem to suggest that that is true. Such a pity, no club of our size can flourish without there being a dialogue with the fans and, although there may have been issues with that dialogue in the past, it now seems virtually non existent. Fine words in the Chairman's statement issued last year backed up by no action whatsoever.
-
Something else the appallingly uninformative official website could do is to keep us up to date with the progress of our clearly talented under 18 side. Whatever happened to the Chairman's undertaking to improve communication ?
-
Just how difficult would it have been to put that information on the official site itself a week or so in advance or for someone from the club to have posted some notice on this site ?
-
What is the fact that he is a 'foreigner' got to do with anything ? Leaving that aside, it seems that you are as well informed as ever in referring to an attacking midfielder as a defender. Why don't you wind your neck in and give the lad a chance ?
-
Alloa may be recently promoted and may be part time but they are no Brechin. Absolutely no room for any hint of complacency on our part. These are the games where three points are an absolute must if me are to have any chance of promotion.
