  1. Agreed. He deserves at least one injury free season to show what he's really capable of. We've seen glimpses of it and I am convinced he has more to offer.

The fact of the matter is that it should never have been a matter of the manager against the board and most certainly never in public. It never has been in the past and should never be so again. Most managers are ambitious and, out our level, will regard the club as a stepping stone which is perfectly fair. The trouble with Yogi is that he took that far too far quite clearly putting his own interests ahead of the club's. Whoever the next manager is it is, in my view, essential that the sense of harmony and working together for the common good that has been a feature of the club for many many years is restored and as soon as possible.
  3. They made a difficult decision but, all things considered including potential cash from the Euros, made the right call just as they very often do,
  4. How about Kenny Jackett...a hot potato...with Mickey Mellon cocktail for dessert.
  5. Like the missionary position or a Lorne sausage roll....

The board did give him their backing to a record degree. It was Yogi who decided that that was not enough for him.
  7. Les Fridge has left Nairn County.......
  8. The fans of the Rangers would do well to remember that their new club was given preferential treatment when their old club died. Conventially , when a vacancy arises in the league, clubs are invited to put their cases just as we and Ross County had to and existing members of the league vote on which club or clubs are to be admitted. It could well be argued that at the time the Rangers were parachuted in other teams such as Gala Fairydean or Edinburgh City had a much better case. If that is now their attitude to the clubs that gave them such preferential treatment then they may find they are dealt with differently the next time their club dies.
  9. The money from the Euros and probably the perception, right or wrong, that OFW represents less of an injury risk.
  10. Very well said indeed. TogetherNESS well on the way to being restored.

Absolutely that. It was abundantly clear that whatever the reason was for not offering DR a new contract had nothing to do with his ability and full credit to those behind the scenes for concluding this important piece of business within days of the solitary impediment being removed. We are still very short of numbers but with the earlier news on OFW, we now have a very solid first choice goalkeeper and defence. Increasing reasons for optimism about next season.
  12. Good to hear that the matter of player contracts is still in hand despite there being no manager in place currently.
  13. We seem to have done well enough for the last four seasons increasing our turnover year on year and even posting the odd profit.
  14. Yes, they each signed two year extended deals.
  15. I could live with that.
  16. Inevitable after OFW signed his contract. Despite missing the last few weeks, he made a significant contribution to our success last season. Best wishes for a successful and injury free remainder to his career.
  17. Still absolutely no excuse for what happened.
  18. The reason why Latapy left has never been properly explained. I know he wanted to look for a manager's position of his own but it seemed odd and still seems odd that he should voluntarily render himself unemployed while doing so.
  19. Agreed, one of the very best anthems in football.
  20. Unless the player wants to sign for the 'option' year he can't be compelled to. The so called option is not worth the paper it's written on and I fail to understand why our club use them.
  21. Why on earth would any money go to Police Scotland ? The SFA paid a fortune to Police Scotland for policing at the match and their pitifully slow reaction certainly didn't help matters. If anything, it's they who should be refunding the football authorities.
  22. ...and who, unlike the last player we had at the Euros, isn't earning at least five times as much as any of his team mates...
  23. No wonder the previous manager was unhappy with no funds to buy a screen...
  24. ...or possibly two...
  25. Then someone should inform John Collins...
