Angus the Bull for Caley D seems like a good bit of business.....

Not to mention seven figures being at least a million pounds. Sadly, losing our best players to the rather wealthier rivals along the road is just a fact of commercial life and £200,000 is £200,000 more than we got for either Johnny Hayes or Graeme Shinnie...

    Paul Maccartney is deeply offended....

Don't you just hate the way that suggestions that we are about to sign someone decent almost always come to nothing whereas rumours that we are about to part with our best players, usually for nothing or a very modest fee, so often turn out to be true.....
  5. Were these fans warned previously and were serial offenders ? If not, surely, for a first offence, the proportionate action would be to give them a formal warning advising that any future misconduct might result in a ban. If no previous warning had been issued then it seems to me that an outright and immediate ban is extremely harsh indeed.

Not envious just recognise good players and, whether we like it or not, have more fans, more money, higher crowds and a much larger playing budget than us. I will be sorry to see yet another of our best players go to them but, from Tansey's point of view, who can blame him for doubling his salary in what is a short career by making the short journey along the A96.
  7. Like you, I don't know the rights and wrongs but if the issue is the driver being unable to do his job due to mere loud singing then perhaps the solution ought to be a new driver. Again, without commenting on the merits which I know nothing about, I would be very unhappy about a whole group, especially of enthusiastic young fans, being punished for the actions of a few.
  8. Agreed banning a large section of fans especially youngsters who are the future of the club, from official transport whatever the rights or wrongs is an important matter relevant to the club and should be discussed on the main ICT thread to which it has now been moved.
  9. Quite apart from the fact that average crowds in the Premiership continue to edge up for most clubs including our own, yesterday's victory by County means that the seven major cup finals since Scottish football was apparently placed on life support will, by the time the League Cup final comes around, have featured ten different clubs and there will have been six different winners of the two tournaments. Highland clubs will have featured in three of these finals spread over the two competitions, cup final crowds have been healthy and largely sectarian bile free, ICT have featured in precisely as many finals as Celtic and no team has featured in more than two finals spreading exposure and finance much more widely than before. This Armageddon is a gift that just keeps on giving. Can we please please have at least one more season of it.......

Agree....the one area where we are very well covered. Oh for some forward cover...

The window closes tonight and such is the level of excitement among our fans that we have resorted to searching our memory banks for footballers who may have come from the other end of the Great Glen. I have a feeling that the TCS may not be exactly besieged by journalists this evening anxious to be first to get a glance of the new arrivals
  12. Did the County fans resort to pulling down Celtic players in the box ?
  13. I imagine that neither Hamilton or Killie with their plastic pitches will have it....not that Killie's worked anyway....
  14. The pitch would probably have survived heavy rain before the SPL forced us to install USH and thus ruin the drainage.
  15. Thanks for that information. What is the weather like ? Is the match in serious doubt ?
  16. With our Premiership refs getting paid more than some of the full time professionals they are refereeing for what is essentially a part time hobby I really don't see what they have to complain about. If they are really that sensitive to criticism then maybe the should find another hobby, knitting or origami perhaps...

Would be an excellent loan signing. A proven goal scorer in this division but, as others have said, perhaps beyond our budget.
  18. I hope that Yogi is mature enough not to victimise any players who express a legitimate contrary view. After all, for better or worse, he is the one who first aired what should have remained an internal issue in public.
  19. With both Warren and Draper committed for the long term it's been a good couple of weeks for the future of ICT. Having Esson on the playing staff for another two years is a bonus too.
  20. The SFA overseeing unfair and farcical practices....surely not....
  21. Quite amazing that a straightforward post reminding fans to obey the law and have due regard for the safety of themselves and others should generate a thread running to fully six pages.
  22. I think it's good for the Highlands if County do well but not too well and certainly not as well as us. For that reason, I would be delighted if they beat Celtic as long as they didn't go on to win the thing and we would remain the first team in the Highlands to have reached a League Cup final. However, my main emotion surrounding this match is that if we'd played the first 70 minutes of the quarter final with the same purpose and intensity as the last 20 minutes it would have been us.
  23. Very many of us who support the club and attend the ground are 'born and bred' Invernessians. Whatever the causes are for the apathy it has very little to do with events of almost quarter of a century ago....

I am certainly suggesting that if he has useful contacts we have yet to see much evidence of them when it comes to recruitment and no team in Scotland with the exception of Celtic and to a lesser extent, Aberdeen has MONEY !

That's where a shrewd manager with useful contacts should come into play..
