  1. Stirling Albion 2-0 up on Cumbernauld Colts midway through the first half. Looking very like we will be heading to Forthbank.
  2. On the contrary, it depends on how wisely he spends the budget he has.
  3. I agree with RIG. The biggest test of the second chapter of his tenure will be his ability to recruit well. So far, his signings have been more of a miss than a hit but he now has the chance to put that right and leave something of a legacy.
  4. Right enough Dougal, that period included a comprehensive 3-0 win over Kilmarnock and a lucrative and unforgettable trip to Parkhead. Who knows how far the Jags could have gone if we hadn't 'deteriorated' so badly.....Credit though for attempting to turn the most unlikely of topics into tedious merger threads...Just what the site needs, we haven't had one for weeks....
  5. I was largely ambivalent as to whether JH stayed or not but am very pleased that the unsettling managerial situation has been resolved and for so long. Hopefully, now that Yogi's position has been resolved we can begin to secure key players on long term deals and perhaps even recruit one or two new faces in January.
  6. It will be if it comes off but too early to be counting any domestic fowls....
  7. I agree. The Celtic league games are probably the least important fixtures in any given season.
  8. I believe we did the right thing in giving Dani a second chance but the prospect of him being our main striking option after January is not a happy one..
  9. What is it you intend to do that isn't already done either by this site or the official site ? I suspect you may be largely talking to yourself.
  10. It is a matter of opinion but while Yogi is our most successful manager given last season, In my view, there are at least a couple of candidates ahead of him for the title best ever..
  11. I have reflected on this. My initial reaction was that spitting on an opponent is disgusting and unacceptable and that we should part company with him even if that meant paying up his contract. However, on more mature reflection, I agree with you. What is alleged is still utterly unacceptable but we all make mistakes and we all do things we later regret. He is a young man and deserves a second chance. I am now for a club fine and a final warning. I wholly agree that we should not use this incident as a pretext to get rid of a player who has under performed so far.
  12. Actually, quite like the away pink strip......as for the home effort however....
  13. ....just bring back LG full stop.....
  14. Humour aside, what is alleged is disgusting and unacceptable. It is yet to be established but if it is we need to make it abundantly clear to Scottish football and our own tight family of fans that this will not be tolerated. Whilst it probably does not amount to gross misconduct entitling the club to dismiss him, it certainly amounts to gross conduct and, if established, we should pay up his contract and send him on his way.
  15. It is abundantly clear from a decade of accounts as a top tier club that, in the absence of windfalls such as cup runs and transfer fees, we have an inbuilt annual deficit circa £300,000 no matter how prudently the board run the club which they do. Something that those moaning about lack of spending, perhaps including the manager, need to bear in mind.
  16. Will not include the Christie transfer fee which, even with no cup final (probably) and a lower league finish (almost certainly) ought to ensure that we at least break even next financial year also. Still need to be prudent but a healthy financial position going forward.....
  17. Typical Daily Record Story - made up on the back of a cigarette packet. What have either of those managers done to be linked to bigger jobs? If anything, you'd have to say Stubbs is on a shoogly peg after last seasons embarrassing capitulations in the play-offs and SC semis. Warburton has a massive club at the top of a league which contains the likes of Alloa, Dumbarton and Livi. His nearest challengers include Falkirk and Raith Rovers. In their only meeting with an SPL side they were comprehensively drubbed at home. At best you could call Warburton competent relative to his predecessor. Not sure that Warburton has a massive club. He has a relatively new club still losing massive amounts of money month after month. What he does have is a squad of massively (over)paid players compared to his divisional rivals.
  18. That seems fair enough to me. He has been round long enough to know the consequences of making that sort of comment.
  19. Mackay, Brown, Howarth, Horner, Gilchrist, Wilson, MacArthur, Wedderburn, MacRae, Sutherland, Rennie Subs: Hoban, Hull, Stark, MacRitchie Thanks for the updates. It's encouraging to see the Development Squad doing better than last season.
  20. You are, of course allowed your opinion but so is Renegade. He is not 'on your back' but merely voicing his opinion to which he is equally entitled.
  21. We are indeed entitled to different opinions which is what the forum is all about but just who do you think may in the wings anxious to 'seriously invest' in a business never likely to produce a commercial return ?
  22. Those people you criticise who you say 'don't really understand the football business have overseen an amalgamation of two former Highland League clubs consolidating, bar one season, in the top division for more than a decade now, under a number of managers whilst living within our means and achieving the balancing act of keeping the club both solvent and increasingly successful. With respect, in my opinion, those running our club know a fair bit about the business of football and a great deal about the business of running Inverness Caledonian Thistle in particular.
  23. So be it. We employed JH when his stock was very low and he was virtually unemployable. If he is now looking for more money than the club is able to pay then let him move on and, as we generally do, we will find a new manager who is enthusiastic about the task and willing to commit.
