I don't know that persuaded the board to offer the job to Yogi but it certainly wouldn't have been the fact that he once played for Celtic.

I think it's the reason County are losing these players...some of them outside the transfer window and some of them leaving without other deals secured during the window...that should be of most concern. The last time we took in players during the January window due to current squad not being good enough was the year we sacked Brewster. All other short term January signings have been to cover injuries/suspensions. Failing to sign sufficient quality at the start of the season and then having to spend heavily in the January window is not a policy...it's digging yourself out of the mire. Can't imagine those signing the cheques and running up County's debt will tolerate that, or have it tolerated by the fans, for much longer. County may have debt but, to be fair, it's not a concern due to the fact that it is personally underwritten by their wealthy and indulgent chairman.

I agree that the Hughes Poll represents the situation but disagree with your analysis of it. The majority of posters take one of the middle options and largely represent those initially disappointed but now prepared to give the new man a chance. There are a minority of others such as yourself at the positive extreme and a similar minority at the negative extreme. Only when you look at the two polls in conjunction do you get the full picture. In any event, what's done is done. JH is the new manager and it is clear that the great majority of us whether we were disappointed in the appointment or not are prepared to get behind him and back him so let's put the managerial debate behind us now and do just that.

No I don't. I think that those taking the middle ground tend to be the 'silent majority' whereas those strongly against the new manager and the fervent 'happy clappers' are equally vociferous in stating their respective views. Although I do appreciate a little illogicality in that statement given that I seem to be disproving my own theory by being a vocal 'middle grounder'.

It seems to me that posters fall broadly into three catagories; Firstly; Those who wanted John Hughes the as the new manager and are pleased with the appointment. I get the impression that these posters are in the minority. Secondly; those who emphatically don't want JH as the new manager and continue to express their disappointment. They too seem to be in a minority. Thirdly; those who were disappointed in the appointment and would have preferred another appointee but are now prepared to put their personal doubts and reservations aside now that the new man in place and give him their backing. It seems to me that this third group considerably outnumbers the other two. Nevertheless, all three standpoints are perfectly valid and make for the sort of healthy debate that is the very essence of a football fans website where, the odd troll apart, we all want the same ends but have different views on how to get there.

Apparently, the new manager will not be fully relocating to Inverness until summer. Given he has two school aged children, that seems reasonable.

Right.. i'd guess by your avatar that you are really a County fan? Anyway, your post(if serious) is the act of a spoilt 13 yr old posted just before you throw toys out of big pram! I would love us to stay 2nd and reach a final and I don't really care who does it, what you don't realise is that ICT are not a huge club and cant pay big wages, like some(maybe most) of these players we bring in are not on big money, rather very modest money in fact,and any that show promise will be off, likewise managers (as we have seen)if successful will be offski. We need a manager who wants to be here and wants to succeed, and Hughes has stated that he is delighted to be in Inverness and see's the team needing very little or no change, but like it or not we require a manager at the helm as Shearer is not keen to be there any longer. I'm giving him my support for sure, and if you are an ICT fan you will too. No matter what happens this season I will never be behind Hughes. If at the end of next season we do well then I will reconsider. Do you doubt for one second that McKay will not be whisked away by an english cheque the moment the transfer window opens and he may not be the only one. When that happens give it a few weeks and lets hear you all sing the same song of we are behind you As to suggesting I am or ever have been a tinker from over the bridge then think again I may be wrong but I get the distinct impression that you are not wholly convinced by the appointment....

I'm sure we will not have to wait too long for a psychological profile of Mr Hughes....
