  1. The club also needs to balance the books. The deal is a pretty generous one in all the circumstances.
  2. I doubt very much if Watford would have agreed to such a clause given that on was going to join them in the summer in any event.
  3. Washed down with a nice glass of red no doubt !
  4. The attendance at Saturday's game would suggest a poor take up of the 4 match ticket. Did anyone here buy one ?
  5. We played well apart from the first and last 20 minutes or so. A very welcome 3 points with the added bonus of all other results going our way. In my opinion 2 more wins will see us safe.
  6. Apparently not !
  7. Rumoured to be ?80,000. Pleased to see him doing well.
  8. The heavy drinking session at Cameron House was bad enough but their infantile and insulting behavour while sitting on the bench at Hampden was the final straw. Credit to Walter Smith for doing the right thing.
  9. Not a must win fixture in my opinion but 3 points would be mighty welcome especially as Falkirk are unlikely to take anything this weekend.
  10. There was much debate when Butcher was appointed as to whether or not his part time position as Scotland assistant would compromise his ability to effectively manage ICT. Well I guess Saturday will go some way to providing the answer. Our relagation rivals have had a fortnight to work on any ongoing problems with their respective managers whereas Terry has been able to spend little or no time in the Highlands of late. For what it's worth, I'm fairly confident that we will win on Saturday even if that means winning ugly !
  11. Far from convincing against a nation with a population similar to Aberdeen but at leat it keeps our world cup play off hopes alive.
  12. Good on Burley and Butcher for taking a firm line.
  13. There must be at least one outfield player who coukld do a half decent job betwen the sticks in an emergency.
  14. It's fair to say that Mr oruc is not having the best of seasons.
  15. Never mind, credit to the boys for making club history in getting as far as they did.
  16. His cup record is not great but, like every other manager, the league is his bread and butter. Given how poor Aberdeen were in the half dozen or so seasons before he arrived, including Steve Paterson's season in charge, Calderwood has made good steady progress with another top six finish and possibly a European place still in sight.
  17. Zander is a talented young player but I'm not sure he's equipped, in terms of stature, to be an SPL level player.
  18. I'd settle for four points from our remaining three fixtures before the split. I reckon we will need another 10 points between now and the end of the season to be safe.
  19. Victories against St Mirren and Hamilton before the split will put our escape bid back on course and, given Aberdeen's form at present, a point at Pittodrie isn't out of the question.
  20. How are the club going to benefit from a 25% increase in crowds only paying 25% of current prices ?
  21. Not a good day at the ICT office but not the end of the world either. Still 5 clubs in the relegation mix although three points today would have gone a very long way to ensuring our safety.
  22. I'd still rather be competing on both fronts.
  23. Having spent the best part of the last two decades residing in rural Aberdeenshire, I diina ken fit you're on aboot ! Aye maloon, but ye ken whaur ye went tae the skule tho! Now widdit huv been yon chiel Horne or the loon Ian Thomson that taught ye the Roman mither tongue. Surely no' the quine Jessie Thomson tho' - ye'll be far too young a laddie tae huv been in wan o' hur classes. Ach weel, as the say in Turriff "Labore et Virtute" an' keep chavvin awa' defendin' a' thae bestiality cases. Whit's yur standard line o' defence onywuy? "My Lord, my client understood that 'animal husbandry' was a perfectly legal activity." :thumb04: Coptright theft, as you well know, is a serious matter but, as far as I'm aware, the heirs of the late Granvil Paterson are not known for being particularly litigious ! By the way, the answer to your question is yon loon Ian Thomson.
  24. Would there be any merit in the supporters club running a bus ?
  25. Would it not just have been easier to tell me? To be fair to Caley D he has narrated the position in full at least twice before on these fora. Is this just Kingsmills reminding us that his Classical education in the Victorian pile at the top of Stephen's Brae has afforded him familiarity with the nominative case of a plural neuter Latin noun of the first declension? Having spent the best part of the last two decades residing in rural Aberdeenshire, I diina ken fit you're on aboot !
