MARIUS WATCH
I never knew that following the fortunes of Romania could be so like supporting Scotland !
-
New Strips
I agree that we've gone from our best ever strip to the worst. Very disappointing.
-
Romania could qualify
I can't see the Netherelands having a great desire to win this one. Romania have a great chance. At ?3,000 a day ICT'S windfall is looking very respectable.

Fixtures for 2008-2009 season
Good, an opportunity to lay our Dons bogey straight away.
-
Andy Barrowman
There's a suggestion that he might sign for Northampton, in which case, cobblers to him !
-
Andy Barrowman
There seems to be a consnsus developing as far as Mr Barrowman is concerned.
-
Andy Barrowman
Looking very like it. It's not as though he's proven himself at anything above second division level. Time to focus our attentions elsewhere.
-
Andy Barrowman
Who's to say he'll even get a chance. His agent may be playing a dangerous game.
-
Andy Barrowman
It wouldn't worry me either if we looked elsewhere.

Are We Going To Have A Single Experienced Forward Next Season ?
He'd never last 90 minutes playing as an out and out forward these days.

Are We Going To Have A Single Experienced Forward Next Season ?
Rumour has it that Falkirk tried to get Stokes back on loan for next season but without success. He could certainly do a job for ourselves but he must be on ?30,000 a week for warming the bench at Sunderland they would surely want any loan club to pay a third of his wages which would be way beyond us.

Are We Going To Have A Single Experienced Forward Next Season ?
Frankly, I'm one of them. He's at least 4 years past his prime.

Are We Going To Have A Single Experienced Forward Next Season ?
I'm concerned that we might be very exposed up front next season if, as is likely, the club decide to cash in on Marius's value following his Euro 2008 appearances. With Denzil already away and strong speculation about Bayne's future that would leave us with McAllister, Wood and possibly Imrie. As far as I can see that forward players that we've been linked with are Barrowman, Dorrans and St Johnstone's Andy Jackson none of whom are dripping with SPL experience. The prospect of starting next season with Rory as our most experienced striker by a considerable margin is quite frightening. We must make an effort to keep Niculae and to recruit someone who has experience of scoring at SPL level or the equivalent.

A fitting tribute from Robbie Williamson...........................
He seems to have shown some promise at Third Division level but it's a big big step up to the SPL.
-
P&J today...
Unless Rory makes the breakthrough at long last.

Fully agree, great credit to Marcus.

P&J today...
Which suggests that there are other "front runners" so a non story really. I suspect that if he was going to come he would have committed himself by now.
-
P&J today...
It might make sense, from Barrowman's point of view, to seek a 2 year deal. From the club's perspective, it would make better commercial sense to secure a player of his age for at least three years.
-
P&J today...
Fully agree, in the days of Steve Paterson most transfer negotiations were conducted discretely in private. It would be so much better if that was still the case.
-
P&J today...
Barrowman certainly has potential but is an unknown quantity at SPL level. Dennis Wyness was even more prolific in the lower leagues but didn't have the beating of SPL defenders on a consistant basis.

GRETNA RESIGN FROM SFL
I too think that it will be Spartans despite the fact that Meadowbank Thistle were testimony to the appetite, or lack of it, for a third senior team in the capital.
-
GRETNA RESIGN FROM SFL
Cove is effectively a rather uninspiring suburb of Aberdeen.
-
GRETNA RESIGN FROM SFL
I'm sure many of the potential candidates have prepared for some time. It's the state of preparation of the SFL to analyse and judge the bids competently in such a short timescale that concerns me.
