  1. This thread is indeed about itchie Hart. Can you two please conduct your squables elsewhere !
  2. Progressive appointment. Very welcome news.
  3. I'd be very happy to see Ritchie back. Firstly; regarding his drugs conviction, which of us hasn't made the odd, albeit serious, error of judgement in life ? In my opinion people deserve a second chance. In addition I liked Ritchie as a player. He was never less than fully committed and not short on skill. Also, he has SPL experience which will serve us well next season.
  4. Sorry, Should have added that site users under the age of 40 might like to Google Anita Harris ! Those under 30 might also wish to Google " black and white television"
  5. Oh heck, I might as well go for broke ! I have a further confession to make of a theartrical nature; I really enjoy traditional British panto' and will be sad, as will all too soon be the case, when my children grow too old to provide an excuse for my annual yuletide indulgence. To further add to the embarrassing nature of this particular confession, I strongly suspect that it derives from the impression made on my eight year old self by flickering black and white image of a very leggy Anita Harris playing the lead role in a BBC production of Dick Whittington !
  6. To be fair to Peter Houston, Pavels had a couple of very poor performances indeed before falling out of favour maybe because he was played out of position. I would still be happy to see him return to the TCS.
  7. I don't think winning the First Division is worthy of formal civic recognition. Let's wait until we win one of the two major cup competitions.
  8. Much as I've been pilloried by some on this site for expressing support and admiration for County's cup exploits this season to the extent of enjoying a fine day out in Glasgow yesterday notwithstanding the result, I would not like to see County gain a place in the SPL. Firstly, despite the astonishing progress they have made, County are, when all said and done, a team based in what is little more than a large village of 5,000 souls unlike ICT which represents a vibrant and still growing city. I know that County also attract considerable support from Easter and Wester Ross and beyond but the hoards who went to Hampden are a one off and I believe that Division One is probably their natural ceiling. I would be concerned that, The backing of Roy Mcgregor apart, they would struggle to maintin the costs of competing as an SPL outfit and that might be the undoing of years of prudent incremental work to get them where they are. Secondly and from a selfish perspective, there is limited commercial backing in our area at the level required for SPL and County being in the SPL would inevitably dilute finances and resourses which would otherwise come to us. Much as I admire what County have achieved, I am an ICT fan first and foremost and I would not want County to succeed if that were to be to my team's prejudice.
  9. Agree with Alex. Brian Kerr was offered twice as much by Dundee as we offered. Who wouldn't have made the same decision as him in similar circumstances ? He's a professional footballer plying his trade not a fan of ICT.
  10. Whatever you may think of Ross County and whether you wish them well or not tomorrow surely you agree that for a club based in a town will a population of little more than five thousand to sell close on four times that many tickets is nothing short of phenomenal. I'm well aware that I don't speak for all, or even the majority of users on this site but good luck to them and the hoards of Highlanders who will be travelling down the A9 to roar on a team who were unable to pay their players even expenses and were on the verge of going out of business barely two decades ago.
  11. Reckon, however, they could still just about match the mighty ICT offering wages to a free agent !
  12. No way!!!!!! I work with Taffs and they're all rrrrrrrssssssss's Have you long harboured such a warm regard for one of our fellow Celtic nations Alex ? !
  13. As I recall Motherwell used to tour Eire pre season when Terry was manager.
  14. Good gesture by the local rag. I wonder what the competition was. What other professional players come from that paper's circulation area ?
  15. Competent player with SPL experience. I'd be happy to have him back.
  16. Would be a good addition to the squad and, as you say, not beyond the realms of possibility.
  17. Can't see Tuffey coming to play second fiddle to Esson.
  18. I enjoy ballet and I'll be at Hampden on Saturday supporting our Highland neighbours !
  19. Can you please indicate some sort of source, reliable or otherwise, for this to remain in the Rumours Forum.
  20. Taking my kids to cheer on County. Who knows when they will next get an opportunity to see a Highland team in a national cup final.
  21. The latest news is that ICT have agreed an uneasy alliance with Greenock Morton. Morton get to appoint the assistant manager and will be permitted two players in the starting XI and one on the bench, one of the Morton players starting will have to be replaced by an ICT player after no more than 65 minutes.
  22. For no particular reason, I've long had a soft spot for Blackpool.
  23. What is your most embarrassing confession ? Mine is that I enjoy watching ballet even more than football. As a Highlander from a distinctly working class background I would have no more wanted to go to the ballet than see Elgin City win the league ! To me it was a poncey effite activity involving men in tights being being viewed, probably through pince nez, by elderly upper class women in twin set set and pearls. That remained the case until, long before I met Mrs Kingsmills I might add !, I became besotted by a stunningly beautiful girl whom I soon discovered was equally besotted by the ballet. Tickets to the ballet and three hours of being bored out of my skull would be a suitable price to pay to try to worm my way into her affections and hopefuly her bed. So I paid what, at the time, seemed like a kings ransom for two of the best seats in the house and sat back prepared to pay the price of my desires. To my amazement within minutes of the curtain going up I was utterly entranced by skill, grace and athletisism the like of which you would never witness in any sporting arena. For what it's worth my ulterior ends were achieved but that was relatively short lived but my love of ballet has peristed ever since and I have now indoctrinated my wife and at least my oldest son. If you haven't been and are open minded enough you should give it a try. You never know you might surprise yourself ! Now, what's your guilty secret ?
  24. You've got to remember that Scottish football is in a very poor financial state and that clubs have got used to picking up players at or close to the end of their contracts for little or nothing. Of our current squad I would say that only Rooney and Hayes have any significant transfer worth.
