Which team will be promoted to the SFL?
Fair enough, one team from the deep south west replaced by another from the same neck of the woods. At least they wont be "living the dream".

Season Ticket Renewals - calls from the club?
I'd heard that sales are quite a bit down on the same time last year.

Burnley FC V ICT.... 2/8/08
Burnley is not a pleasant place. As far as accomodation is concerned there is a decent Holiday Inn in Preston just off the M6. Ask IHE it's his neck of the woods.

Pinilla Released
His salary at Hearts was more than twice what we're purported to be paying Marius so it's a non starter.

Zadi Gone or Not (merged)
He didn't exactly set the heather on fire during his spell in Dingwall but at least he offers something different in central defence. Whether he has the ability to cope with SPL forwards remains to be seen.

Burton O Brien
By my reckoning that's still 6 out from those available at the end of last season, 7 if you count Zibi, and only 1 in so far.

Yet another shrewd signing by Yogi Hughes. Falkirk have similar resourses to ourselves but seem to use them far more effectively.

New TV Deal
According to the BBC, the SPL have agreed a new TV deal with Setanta to begin at the end of their existing arrangement in 2010. From 2010/2011 onwards the TV deal will be worth in excess of ?30,000,000 a season; more than double the existing figure. While that's (very) small beer compared to the English Premiership it still means almost ?2,000,000 a year for even modestly placed clubs from 2010 onwards. Imperative therefor that ICT don't lose their SPL status over the next two seasons or we will lose half our current turnover at a stroke. I just hope that Brewster has what it takes to keep us in the top division otherwise the consequences will be more dire than ever. If common sense, rather than pure greed and self interest, prevailed then 2010/2011 would be a perfect opportunity to expand the SPL to 16 clubs with each club still substantialy better off than they are now. That said, given the track record of the SPL, my money's firmly on pure greed and self interest with common sense trailing in a distant last.

Bayne attracting attention
Tend to agree but he was able to compensate for his slight shortcomings in basic ability with bucket loads of endevour.

Bayne attracting attention
Not a prolific scorer but possibly the hardest working player we've ever had. Personally, I'd have preferred that he stayed but good luck to him.

The return of "The Jags"!!!
According to today's Courier, Inverness City are moving from North Kessock to the Northern Meeting Park. While they are no threat to ICT, I fear that, if they do well in the junior set up, they might take some support and commercial backing from the Clach which might just tip the balance for our already fragile Highland League neighbours.

Mitre SPL goal of the decade
Dargo's goal at Ibrox might be a contender.

Andy Barrowman
I agree with Caley D, barrowman may have potential but we need to bring in another forward who has proved himself at our level.
-
Di Giacomo & Wales
That's probably about his level.

The return of "The Jags"!!!
Agreed, both Thistle and Caley are long dead. We are all now fans of a team much more successful and with a much higher profile than either of those Highland League could ever have hoped to achieve. I would not follow a revived Inverness Thistle in the Highland League in preference to ICT.
-
The return of "The Jags"!!!
I believe that they are erroneously referring to Inverness City who are moving from the North Caledonian League to the junior ranks.

Andy Barrowman
Or he and or his agent are ever hopeful.

Andy Barrowman
Ah but does it tell him anything ?

MARIUS WATCH
I woner if the future Mrs Niculae enjoys the Highland air ?

ICT Going Green
Given that the Firth is just over the sea wall there might also be the possibility of generating some wave energy as well.
-
Brewster in Salzburg
I harbour very serious doubts about Brewster's managerial ability but can't for the life of me see how the criticism of him in this thread can be justified.
-
New Strips
How sexist but then again how true especially if there was a bit of a nip in the air !

Callum Elliott
Totally agree, we cannot afford to start next season without signing at least one forward with proven ability at SPL level or the equivalent.

Did George Best Play For Motherwell?
I well remember the excitement he caused when he played for Hibs despite the fact that he was well past his prime but I've no recollection of him ever turning out for Motherwell.
-
Callum Elliott
I tend to agree with RIG. As far as Callum Elliot is concerned, two years ago I thought that he was a great prospect and I would have been deloghted to see him at ICT but, if anything he seems to have gone backwards in the last two seasons. I know that he didn't set the heather on fire on loan at Motherwell but maybe a change of club might help kick start his career.
