  7. Decent perfrormance from a squad still gelling apart from the final third. A competent forward would have scored at least two yesterday.
  8. A decent player with experience of the SPL. Not unhappy with this news.

  11. Grant Street circa 1970 must have had the most disgusting urinals north of Cowdenbeath. That said, my abiding memories, as with much in my life, have a culinary note. The first ground in Inverness to serve hamburgers alongside the ubiqitous burnt pies and bridies.
  12. Good, a bit of experience to bolster the rookies we have signed over the close season. Closing this thread as this is no longer a rumour.
  13. Really pleased with this news, especially as regards Doran. My only concern with the way the squad is shaping up is lack of experience. We shed half a dozen experienced campaigners at the end of last season and so far, Tade apart, we have recruited only relatively untried youngsters. I have a real fear that unless we sign at least a couple of wiser older heads we could get seriously caught out when the going gets tough in the forthcoming SPL campaign.
  14. Like it very much. My kids will have new summer tops.
  15. Given that Ross County have appointed an assistant manager other than Charlie Christie, this rumour can now be put to bed and the thread closed.
  16. Agree entirely with Smee and Charles that Caledonian FC, despite dropping their geographical prefix in fit of pique, Inverness Thistle and ICT have a proud combined history amounting in total to over 260 years and that it is wholly appropriate to celerbate all three tranches on this forum. Now, to business, I need a new rag to clean my car and will happily offer a quid for that ribbon of nylon and acrylic !
  17. Just about enough time has now elapsed for him to be forgiven for his remarks to Tam Cowan on the eve of his and Pele's, ultimately ill fated, move to Pittodrie !
  18. Just can't see past Barrowman for this particular award.
  19. I like your part of the world. May well take the kids for a seaside break at Weston combined with a couple of matches if we are on a "tour" of south west England.
  20. Personally I believe that while both Roy and Golly are no longer SPL quality, Both Russell and Munro could do a job for at least another couple of seasons. I would be surprised if we find two better replacements in the same wage bracket, which is the only bracket we can afford. I believe that this is probably the worst mistake in Butcher's tenure at the club but only time will tell whether the manager is right or the majority of fans posting on this thred are.
  21. What size of crowd was there for this game ?
  22. I have little doubt that Caley would have held their own in the lower reaches of the SFL had they alone gained league status, as indeed would have Thistle had they not been snubbed in favour of the Ferranti works team in the seventies. However, I am in no doubt that they would not have attracted the fan base or sufficient financial imput from the commerecial or public sector to have ever had the resources to to finance full time football and thus reach the dizzy heights of the SPL. That was a task that was challenging enough and almost bankrupted the club as things are. I may not be typical but myself and my family would still be supporting Thistle in the Highland League rather than following the fortunes of Caley oscilating between the first and second divisions.
  23. There's no doubt that Jim Calder is one of the two best part time players to have played for the club but, overall, Esson is the best all round 'keeper.
  24. Could potentially be a decent replacement for Rooney.
  25. Adam owes us nothing. He is doing what the rules entitle him to. Hibs are a much bigger club than ICT and can probably pay three times our best offer.
