  1. I too supect that ESPN are waiting in thw wings. As part of the Disney Corporation they are not short of a bob or two but they are as commercially ruthless as their parent company and will want to cherry pick what they perceive to be Setanta's most attractive assets. I'm far from convinced that will include the rights to the SPL.
  2. Couldnt agree more. :) :025: :025: ditto
  3. No doubt that Dundee will be the team to beat in the first division next season.
  4. Off topic but our parachute payment should be safe as our contractual right to it is with the SPL rather than Setanta.
  5. The club is going to have to trim costs whereever it can and it's no surprise to see the youth system bearing its share.
  6. Sorry not to be seeing both in our squad, rather than County's nect season. Especially so with Iain Vigurs.
  7. For once I agree with WYNESS101. Topic moved.
  8. Welcome to the reality of life back in the SFL !
  9. I've no anomosity towards Craig Brewster, I too believe he did his very best. It's just that that best was hopelessly short of what is rquired of an SPL manager. I cannot, however, believe that anyone based on the evidence can seriously argue that we would have fared better had we retained his sevices. By the time he went we had gone eight consecutive games without a single point. The jury may be out on Terry Butcher's ability in the long term but the facts are that when he arrived he immediately stopped the rot. If we had taken even a single point from that disasterous eight game run we would still be in the SPL now. I still believe the thread is a wind up !
  10. Oh dear how depressing, a thread on this site regarding the draw for the Alba Cup. Let's hope there's no another such thread this time next year !
  11. Must be a wind up. Nobody could genuinely hold these views !
  12. Nairn County.
  13. I would be very surprised indeed to see either Foran or Morais with the club next season. Other clubs will be able to offer more money and the prospect of playing at a higher level. From their professional point of view why would they want to play theit trade in the first division with ICT ?
  14. Good for them.
  15. For anyone who cares and can be bothered we are about 90 minutes away from a virtual relegation to go with our very real relegation on Saturday !
  16. Sorry to see you go. I'm sure you will get your chance elsewhere as you clearly have great potential. Good luck !
  17. I have to say that of the list of players not being offered new contracts Vigurs is the only surprise and, in my opinion at least, the only mistake. I think the boy has great potential and could do a job for us in the first division next season.
  18. Hibs had home crowds in excess 10,000 in the first division so were able to spend their way out. Dundee United had much greater resourses than we do. While not beyond us bouncing back in one season will be far from easy. Dundee have recently had a cash injection as well as a number of years experience of the division and a vastly experienced manager. In my opinion, they start as favourites.
  19. Think if you look very carefully you'll understand why folk are laughing at you. Those prices are for half season tickets for 08/09 season To prevent any confusion whatsoever thread closed.
  20. It is ?250,000 in the first season and ?125,000 the next asssuming a second consecutive season is spent outwith the SPL. I'd be prepared to guess that next years payment has ben spent already covering two sets of managerial salaries since January and paying the salaries of the raft of players brought in to try to stave off relegation.
  21. Kingsmills

    Good Luck

Thanks for that. Good luck in the Cup next week.
  22. come on ma old jeggie mate - The muppets and Brewster have put us on the edge of non SPL inclusion EVER - They have tried to save themselves with the Butcher move and it has misfired. I fear you could well be right IHE. What happens in the course of the next two or three weeks could shape the club's future for years to come.
