  1. I agree with Scotty. For that reason I'm disappointed that there is no greater chance of this actually happening that the dozen or so times this increasingly tedious story has surfaced in the past.
  2. Hopefully, we will be safe before the final fixture but, if not, we could have our record crowd for a home match not involving a member of the Old Firm.
  3. Saturday's results have not altered my original view.
  4. The irony is that in the course of negotiating the new deal the SPL rejected an offer from SKY which wasn't that far short of the Setanta figure. It may be that SKY might want to get back involved with a view to turning the screw on their only remaining serious rivals for live TV rights.
  5. A worthy tribute to a great, if sometimes idiosyncratic, football man.
  6. I agree that it's to our advantage for Hibs to be in the bottom six rather than Motherwell.
  7. The club are carrying a huge wage bill at the moment with all the players broght in during the anuary window. Not sure that they can afford such generosity.
  8. Dorman? Good player on great form. Could be their saviour. Sorry, meant Dorman.
  9. Especially with an Invernessian part of the winning rink.
  10. KILMARNOCK May be one of the most inconsistent teams in the league but in Jim Jeffries and Billy Brown they have the most experienced and shrewdest managerial team of the lot. They also have in Kevin Kyle the one player of genuine quality plying his trade in the nether regions of the SPL. For those reasons, I believe that Killie will rally to finish in 8th place. ICT If I was making this prediction 8 weeks ago I would, without doubt, have tipped us to finish the season rock bottom with 2 trips to Dingwall to look forward to next season. However, Butcher and Malpas have brought the sort of managerial nous so obviously lacking in the pervious management team and that, combined with the shrewd aquisitions made, to be fair partly by Brewster, during the January window should be enough to keep us up possibly with a few points to spare just as long as nobody becomes complacent and the players continue to focus and graft for 90 minutes of every match. ST MIRREN Possibly have the poorest squad in the bottom 5 and will not be helped by the fact that the talismatic effect of being previously unbeaten at their new ground has now gone but with Dorman and Dargo they carry a bit of a goal threat and are likely to have three home games post split. For those two reasons I believe the Buddies will narrowly escape the drop and finish 10th. FALKIRK Despite the fact that they have beaten us twice recently, the second time comprehensively to say the least ! I believe that Falkirk are the least effective team in the league and now that Brewster is in Semi retirement at Victoria Park they have the poorest manager who seems to have lost the confidence of the majority of the players and the vast majority of the fans. The Bairns are in great danger of playing first division football and may only be saved by the fact that Hamilton are in freefall. I predict that they may well survive by the skin of their teeth in 11th spot with their superior goal difference possibly being crucial. HAMILTON I don't think that Accies are the worst team in the league and, in my opinion they have a very competent manager but, unfortunately for them they are on the sort of horrendous run that we were on in the final dark days of the Brewster era. They can't find a single goal just now never mind a point. All teams, especially towards the bottom, have bad runs but Hamilton's has come at just the wrong time. Despite the fact that they currently top the feeble 5 confidence at New Douglas Park must be rock bottom, the team are young and lack a sufficient number of wise old heads which Falkirk have in abundance. For that reason I believe that Hamilton will be this season's fall guys. In what order do you predict the teams will finish ?
  11. I'm not too nervous right now but if we fail to beat Hamilton on Saturday it will be a different matter, especially if Falkirk get any sort of result.
  12. We'd have an even better chance of survival if Don was still in the squad.
  13. Don't leave it so long before your next visit.
  14. Aberdeen were poor and we had the perfect opportunity to take at least a point but in the second half we were absolutely shocking and in the end deserved to walk away with nothing. No need to panic though, Two more wins ought to see us safe starting next week against a Hamilton side who are on the sort of run we were on in the dying days of the Brewster regime.
  15. Four points from the final two games before the split would go a long way to ensuring SPL football in Inverness next season.
  16. The club also needs to balance the books. The deal is a pretty generous one in all the circumstances.
  17. I doubt very much if Watford would have agreed to such a clause given that on was going to join them in the summer in any event.
  18. Washed down with a nice glass of red no doubt !
  19. The attendance at Saturday's game would suggest a poor take up of the 4 match ticket. Did anyone here buy one ?
  20. We played well apart from the first and last 20 minutes or so. A very welcome 3 points with the added bonus of all other results going our way. In my opinion 2 more wins will see us safe.
  21. Apparently not !
  22. Rumoured to be ?80,000. Pleased to see him doing well.
  23. The heavy drinking session at Cameron House was bad enough but their infantile and insulting behavour while sitting on the bench at Hampden was the final straw. Credit to Walter Smith for doing the right thing.
  24. Not a must win fixture in my opinion but 3 points would be mighty welcome especially as Falkirk are unlikely to take anything this weekend.
