  1. If Brewster and Malky were the only ones to go that would not be an expensive excercise as their contracts are up at the end of the season in any event.
  2. Its funny how Robbo and Christie managed on that budget, Pele got us two promotions with that budget. Whats his next excuse? people still being stubburn over the merger and staying away from the club? I can't stand to look at that man, he makes me sick. Why can't he go and kill some other club and stop undoing other peoples hard work? Our budget is the highest in our history. If Brewster doesn't think it adaquate to get the team to mid table then he should make way for someone who can. Charlie Christie led us to seventh place on a much more restricted budget.
  3. Recent precedents are not good but if we can retain the core of what is still a decent squad and recruit a competent manager we might just break with recent trends and bounce straight back up.
  4. If I am right, and I am usually wrong, then to get rid of someone would mean paying off their contract? If this is the case then put someone else in charge and keep Brewster and his cronies on but in a different capacity at the club. eg if Brewster is "Head Coach" then install a "manager" above him. Or if Brewster's contract stipulates he is a "player manager" he has full say in who is picked for the team so boot him out due to breach of contract as he no longer picks himself to play. There is always a way around contracts. He could simply be put on "gardening leave" until the end of the season.
  5. Craig Brewster is not mad, nor should he be a figure of hate. The man is doing his best but his best is just not good enough. The fact that he's utterly incompetent does not mean that he's not making the effort.
  6. Birdog while I am now at the stage of thinking we are probably going down, I totally agree with you that if we get a new manager he might, just might be able to get us out of this mess. Thing is the job is now probably less attractive to potential candidates as it was a month or so ago. That's going to be more and more of an issue with every passing week.
  7. Compensation to Brewster is not the issue, his existing contract is up at the end of this season. It would not, in relative terms, be expensive to punt him.
  8. I don't think it's too late but in another month or so it will be.
  9. I would agree with that which makes it all the more inexplicable that the board are standing by a manager who has been an abject failure both here and at Taddadice.
  10. I'd be very surprised indeed if as many as half the fans of our club are supportive of Brewster.
  11. We still have a squad of players capable of surviving. The problem is that we have a manager with next to no tactical or motovational ability. I contiue to believe that if he was repaced now by someone with even a modicum of ability we are lokely to survive but every week that passes with Brewster still in charge makes that prospect less likely. How many managers presiding over 7 consecutive losses after no more than mediocre reults prior to that keep their jobs ? Frankly, I can't understand what the agenda is at the club.
  12. It's clear as day that Rooney is the better player but Brewster obviously feels obliged to play Barrowman having been instrumental in handing him the second most lucrative contract in the history of the club.
  13. The answer to the original question is now hardly worth the asking. It seems that just about the only people who think that Brewster should remain in position are those very few who actually have influence in the matter.
  14. A fit and well Steve Paterson would be an asset to the club in whatever capacity.
  15. So, has Iriekpen signed ?
  16. Dundee United certainly seem in a position to try to tempt us to sell Cowie having just posted a profit in excess of ?800,000.

Yes Pele I dont doubt that, I think one of Rorys biggest problems may have been his international call ups, he then thought he was the star. He needs to take a step back and learn his trade and then maybe he will show the potential many think he has I wouldn't disagree with that.
  18. I'm pleased that we seem to be going about our business early in the transfer window rather than leaving things to the last minute. We still need and experienced striker though !

Like last time you mean? No I mean this time !
  20. Someone arriving as a trialist doesn't exactly smack of experience.
  21. That's what I was thinking but I suppose the resultant loss will be nothing compared to that caused by relegation.

He'll do well enough in the Second Division.
  23. Wouldn't be a bad signing if true.
  24. I would agree, neither of our 'keepers are outstanding but both are generally competent with fiffering strenghths and weaknesses. I'd be disappointed to see Fraser go but he wouldn't be the most difficult player to replace. There's a reasonable candidate plying his trade only a dozen or so miles away !
  25. It's looking more likely that we will have him at least until the end of the season.
