  1. I can't see this happening if we qualify for the finals. On the ther hand, if we fail to beat Italy it might be a good move for both parties. McLeish has made no secret of his desire to manage in the Premiership.
  2. That would be a sad development but, as we know from our own experience, it's difficult enough to sustain full time football in the first division far less the second.
  3. Whatever the gap betwwen ourselves and Gretna we need to bolster the squad during the transfer window. We will not have Gretna to rely on as a safety net next season.
  4. I'm pleased to see the club give Richie a second chance. I'm sure he's been warned that any similar transgression will result in his dismissal. Pity he can't play in goal or central defence !
  5. My kids seem largely to speak american rather than english to the point of going " trick or treating " last week rather than guising.
  6. I agree the move would probably benifit both parties. Caff was a great defender in the lower leagues but makes far too many unforced errors when under pressure from SPL forwards.
  7. Why am I not surprised that an innocent error as a result of a middle aged man's myopia has produced a rant from Charles Bannerman against the very concept of devolution ?
  8. A very sensible post. If we an secure a reliable goalkeeper and an adaquate replacement for Dods during the january window I'm confident we will finish the season no worse than ninth with the possibility of a decent run in the main cup competition into the bargain.
  9. It's crystal clear that we need a reliable goalkeeper and a solid central defender. We should have aquired these players in the summer but didn't. I'm sure that oversightwill be rectified during the january window. The good news is that Gretna's abysmal form seems likely to ensure that we do not pay the ultimate price for our failure to replace Brown and Dods sooner.
  10. That's the worst perormance for many a season. We've not adaquately replaced Brown or Dods and need to do so in the january window at all costs. The only saving grace is that Gretna are rank and likely to save us from the drop this season.
  11. I'm afraid that RIG's answer is all too accurate.
  12. While the rule is not perfect it does encourage teams to nurture young, often home grown, talent. On balance, I'd be inclined to retain it.
