  1. Brew's form as a player has been poor and injury prone since his move to Tannadice. I on't see him as the solutio to our current problems.
  2. Saturday's game was dire and there's no doubt that the goals have dried up recently. However, we generally get beaten by Motherwell at home, the defence is still pretty tight and we are probablyabout where we would have expected to be in the table at the start of the season. No crisis as yet especially as our next five games have the potential of yielding points.
  3. That's been the case for the past twenty years or so but thus far we've been too craven to thake the initiative.
  4. I would attend our very first league game against Arbroath which I had to miss due to a family wedding.
  5. I'm afraid that DJS may well be right and that we will be faced with a Labour led coallition once again. Independance will come without doubt but maybe not as a result of the next election.
  6. Does that take into account the fact that it generally took about two years for newly released films to find their way to Inverness in those days ?
  7. If that's the case then what does racism in the English East Midlands have to do with the debate on Scottish independence ?
  8. We need to look to attack and take the game to Motherwell from the first whistle.
  9. I agree, these heady days of SPL football are a onderful bonus and will not last for ever. Let's relish the experience while it lasts.
  10. The man does indeed talk much sense, for once !
  11. A few more talented hard working Urdu speakers would be a welcome addition to the Highland landscape and enhance cultural diversity. That hopefully, is the difference between inclusive and outward looking Scottish nationalism and the dangerous zenophobic British variety.
  12. I'm told, on good authority, that the Elgin City board is meeting shortly to reconsider Brian Irvine's position.
  13. Why should Scotland, uniquely among the prosperous small nations of western Europe, be in peril from deciding our own affairs and taking our place, with a view to representing our own interests, at the various Europpean institutions ? For senior labour officials and UK ministers to suggest otherwise is patronising and downright insulting. What are they affraid of ?
  14. We've had a completely full time squad for some time now, I suppose our last part time player was Paul Ritchie who combined football with accountancy. However, in the early days and indeed for some time after we were blessed with some great part time players many of whom, with the benifit of full time training, could have held their own in th SPL. The likes of Paul Cherry and Mike Noble come to mind. Who, in your opinion, was the best part timer to have played for Caledonian Thistle ? I confess, for my part, I find it hard to seperate the cultured full back Ian McArthur from the much less cultured but hugely effective Jimmy Calder. However, if pushed, my vote goes to Calder for sheer entertainment value.
  15. I agree with the comments regarding the saltire.
  16. He is probably the best young prospect at the club at the momment. I'm sure that his chance will come later in the season and, hopefully, for many more seasons to come.
  17. That said, the Dennis Wyness of old would have put away the chance that he had towards the end of the first half.
