    I don't think that the fact that Charlie played briefly for Celtic reserves 20 years ago will earn us any favours with them.

    If the fee on offer is less than £100,000 we would be as well to hold on to Ian Black for next season even if he does leave at the end of it. As he will still be under 24 we will be entitled to some sort of compensation even then.

    I spoke too soon about last nigh's match but one home win out of eight matches is still an odd statistic.

    Having said that, it seems that a fair number of last season's squad, including the club captain, are refusing to sign up for next season on reduced terms.

    I see that Lincoln have just taken the lead at Grimsby in the league to play off sei final thus continuing the incredible sequence of not a single team recording a home win in the English play offs. Clearly playing better away from home is not a trait exclusive to ICT.

    The fact that Morgan is likely to mature next season woul also ease the pain of losing Black.

    At lest this time the managerial merry go round is unlikely to stop at Inverness,

    The voucher system has served Aberdeen well for over 20 years now and would cost next to nothing to implement.

    We could get by without Proctor and Black. Dods and Dargo would be more difficult to replace.

    I suspect that this, or something very like it, will indeed happen but whether in time for the start of next season is a different matter.

    With Keogh, Morgan and possibly Rankin in our midfield next season we could live without Black if United offered a fair price.

    I agree that on last season's form, Dargo is likely to be worth more than £100,000 to us next season in sheer financial terms.

    This has been an issue now for years. Given that our SPL status was effectively secure by january, there is no excuse for being this late yet again.

    While a very good idea, that is likely to cost a fair bit more than throwing up another modular stand.

    If we can't aspire to match the likes of serial underacheivers Aberdeen, inconsistent Hibs and the likes of Kilmarnock then what are we doing in this league ?
