  1. I think that everyone from the Inverness area who was around at the time is very interested in the mystery. Right now, what is interesting me is why this individual who claims he has information which can assist the police in solving a serious long standing apparent crime is not handing that information over to the police instead of trying to capitalise on it.
  2. and a large bag of apples.
  3. An excellent and well thought out OP. I think that football is made overcomplicated these days and that a simple old fashioned 4-4-2 would suit our personnel quite well.
  4. Gone with a cheque for £18,000,000. Pretty well rewarded failure.
  5. By far the best and most measured post on this thread.
  6. I don't know if you've noticed but there are a large number of female deities. I accept though that your personal deity is male.
  7. As I've said, while I personally think it is bizarre, I have no difficulty with others who do have faith in a supreme being whoever she may be. I have faith in human decency and respect for others. I may not have 'brethren' who may or may not need converting to my particular way of thinking but I do have brothers and sisters all over the world whatever their religious allegiance or lack thereof. Christians do not have a monopoly on decency, morality or respect for others.
  8. I have no objection to those who believe in some supreme being for which there is absolutely no evidence for and ample evidence against. However what I do object to is those who have a mission to CONVERT those of us who, in their opinion, have taken the wrong path. Religion is at the root of much of the conflict in the world today and for the last two thousand years. If you want to worship then it is your right to do so but please don't shove that nonsense down our throats. As for converting your Catholic 'brethren' what dangerous arrogance
  9. While, as I've indicated, I agree with you this the actions of the individual concerned is wholly unacceptable and indeed disgraceful, punishing everybody for the actions of one is ridiculously unfair and disproportionate.
  10. Which is why the offending post has been removed.
  11. Where did I accuse or even imply you of being racist ? I was clear that I equate religious bigotry with racism. I opined that, should one of our players, be established to have shouted a sectarian expression, he should be dealt with severely. As far as you are concerned, I was and remain of the view, that your attitude to the matter is complacent and too dismissive. I have no problem with drunk men swearing, I do so myself, I do have a problem with offensive sectarian language. We may play in predominantly blue but I have no wish for us adopt the standards of another team that has similar colours.
  12. Shocking complanency. I can't agree with the OP that they should all be disciplined if the culprit can't be identified. However, what is complained of is not swearing but sectarian bigotry. While that is sadly still rife in large swathes of our Country it has no place at all at our club or in the Highlands at all. Would you have been so complacent had it been a racist comment shouted out ? It's not often they I find myself agreeing with Neil Lennon but sectarianism is just as bad. If the culprit can be identified then his contract should be terminated, whoever he is.
  13. I have had the odd wager and find it occasional fun. However, I am also acutely aware that it has ruined the lives of many including our longest serving manager who was brave in going public on the issue.
  14. I care and, speaking to others, I am not on my own.
  15. Disappointing. United may have the largest budget in the division but they are a poor side that we should be beating. Both County and Ayr, who we have matched in head to heads, have thrashed them. I am not saying we should do the same but we should be edging it. Running theme, we score first and then sit back ensuring we are, far more often than not, pegged back. More commitment needed for the full ninety minutes and a reinforced squad in the imminent window if we are going to retain any interest in the promotion battle. Huge opportunity missed today to gain three points on United and two against literally every other team in the division.

  17. If he flopped so badly with a player budget approaching two million pounds and full, if somewhat misguided, backing by the board, I honestly couldn't see him enjoying any success with a part time team being paid buttons. Nice guy, very good player, abysmal coach/manager.
  18. His time at ICT ended in disaster for us but he is still a relatively young man with a family to support. He earned, and still is in the garden earning, a relatively good income from football but not nearly enough to fund the rest of his life. He has no prospect of ever again earning a living as a manager or a coach so I sincerely hope that this works out well for him.
  19. The reassignment of duties is a fact not a rumour and I have made it very clear that the allegation, thus far at least, is exactly that. The mater is also in the public domain. The thread stays where it is.
  20. Not ideal to have a gambling firm as a partner but if it's what it takes to keep CTO viable then I am prepared to stomach it. We were happy to celebrate winning our biggest ever trophy sponsored by a bookie so it would probably be a bit hypocritical to get too worked up over this.
  21. I see that Kevin MacDonald, one of the best players and one of the best coaches ever to emerge from Inverness, has been 'reassigned' from coaching the young players at Aston Villa after allegations of bullying. Without prejudgung the situation, I hope that both he and the alleged victim are both given a fair hearing. It would be a shame if such an impressive career were to end under such a cloud.
  22. Very similar thoughts. Something that should neither be difficult or expensive to put right but nobody at the club seems much bothered these days. A pity as I am sure the lack of engagement is contributing to our diminishing crowds as the product on the pitch is not that bad and we are still on the fringes of the promotion battle.
  23. Agreed. Well done to the boys not just for their efforts this evening but all season. Hopefully, we will be seeing a few more in the first team before too long. One way for a team like us is to develop our own players. Something we have not been too successful in doing in the past. Encouraging signs that that might be changing.
  24. Corner.
