  1. Fits the profile of a young hungry player with potential who may have lost his way a bit in the last season or two. Strikes me as a promising signing but I do wonder if it's an indication that Vigurs might be departing.
  2. The South Stand favours a complete severance whereas the North Stand wishes to remain in the Customs Union and Single Market. Tullochs narrowly voted to hand the stands back but there is no consensus on what basis.
  3. Not quite so dangerous BS as those who add fuel to harmful and unfounded rumours about the club heading for administration.
  4. Almost bad as the naff "Pride of the Highlands" on the official club crest.
  5. I agree that McKay and Draper are past their best and that Tansey is not the player he once was. Vigurs, on the other hand, is in his prime and I would be much more disappointed to see him in a County shirt than any of the others. Let's hope he goes for the option of long term security rather than a short term cash boost
  6. We certainly finished much more strongly than we started but the current squad are a very long way indeed from being the greatest team the Highlands have ever seen with or without an exclamation mark.
  7. Not a user as I never travel from Inverness but I am sure that an equally big thanks is due to yourself and the others who spare their personal time and effort to provide this valuable service season after season.

As long as we don't look like a The Rangers tribute group as we all too often have in the past. A stylish variation on red and blue vertical stripes with black trim will do nicely and reflect our heritage and, at least as far as Scotland is concerned, unique identity.
  9. Sincerely doubt it but County's demise maybe makes it more likely that we will see Vigurs in an ICT shirt again next season and beyond which certainly pleases me.
  10. Now that County's fate has been sealed, I have mixed emotions. I am, of course, pleased that they are no longer able to Lord it over us from a higher status, I am pleased to have the local rivalry and income from the derbies. I am happy that we can now compete with them for local commercial income and floating fans on an equal footing and I am happy that they are no longer in such a commanding position to poach our best players. However, as I alluded to on another thread, I am sad that there is no longer Highland representation in the top tier after, one season aside, a decade and a half. No doubt the football authorities and the inarticulate Weegie pundits so beloved of Radio Scotland will consider the natural order to be restored. I sincerely hope that we prove them wrong as early as next season and that County do likewise and join us up there again but ideally two or three later.
  11. It's ironic that there's not a Derby derby.
  12. If, through such financial folly, they are liquidated again, they should be made to wait until a vacancy arises in the Lowland League.
  13. Maybe he feels, like I do, that it is refreshing to have Highland representation in the top tier of our national game after a century of almost half the land mass of the country being excluded from the national league system. If, as now seems increasingly likely, County are relegated on Saturday, the Premiership will once more, with the exception of the Dons, become an exclusive Central Belt club. As a native Highlander, I find that very disappointing.
  14. Dreadful post for so many reasons.
  15. As far as Tansey is concerned, he would, without doubt, improve the squad. However, the bottom line is that we can't afford him and we are, in any event, much better looking to recruit young players with potential right now.

I admire your environmental credentials but producing much less paper, which can be recycled after all, than a single run of the Inverness Courier is the least of our concerns just at the moment.

Maybe so but it doesn't look at all good particularly in the light of the earlier promises of communication and transparency. As OCG asks, why hasn't such an important management position been advertised with a view to securing the best candidate in the interests of the club ? Jobs for the girls is no better than jobs for the boys. If Ms Cook was the best qualified for the job after an open recruitment process then well and good and nobody could complain. However, now we will never know whether there might have been a better qualified person interested.Undertakings seem to have been made and not adhered to.

Whoever it is needs to have experience of managing a business which still has an annual turnover in excess of two million pounds. I would also very much prefer it to be someone new to the club bringing in fresh energy and ideas rather than anyone tainted by association with past regimes. It has to be someone who can justify any remuneration which could otherwise have gone into our limited player budget and have the ability to generate more income than being spent on her or his salary.
  19. Highland thrash their hapless opponents 71-10 to win promotion as champions in front of a sizeable crowd at the Canal Park. Almost reminiscent of the charge up the divisions to the top league in the 1970s when thousands crammed into the Northern Meeting Park and Inverness was briefly seized by rugby fever. Well done to all concerned. A possibility of top flight football in two different codes in Inverness the season after next. I rather suspect that there will be more than a few hangovers tomorrow morning.
  20. When is Brian Rice's contract up ? We certainly couldn't afford both. However, at his age, maybe DP just wants to retire.
  21. We invariably take more to Dingwall than they ever seem to take to Inverness.
  22. I don't think that Scotty's warning was conditional or excluded any posters even you.
  23. I'd rather stick a pen in both eyes !
  24. A bit harsh. Robbo took over amongst relative chaos in both the board room and the dressing room. He himself had been out of the game for very many years so it was no surprise that he made some mistakes, some of them fundamental, in his first few months but the last dozen or so games seem to demonstrate that we made the right appointment and, whilst it will be a very tough league again, I have high hopes that next season with confirm that.
