The night out in Aberdeen was a corker afterwards Looking forward to the new term next monday and seeing a lot of Dons supporting staff and pupils!
  2. Delighted that Brew seems to have settled on a 4-5-1 away system format. Barrowman's performance was nothing short of spectacular in my opinion, playing as a lone striker. Huge improvement from his preseason games!
  3. I just read it online, as it saves money

Are there any facts to back that up? When he was announced as ref no alarm bells went off in my head. To be honest, it's a game against the Dons; we're going to concede a penalty and get a man sent off regardless who's ref ;) :018: :thumb04:
  5. I'm going to guess that we'll have around 400 there. Any more would be a welcome surprise.
  6. In full agreement. Great post.

I like the cut of Barrowman's jib; some positive comments To be honest i'm quite looking forward to seeing the likes of Garry Wood and Rory McAllister pushing for a starting role. It gives me more hope than relying on Callum Elliot and Stevie Crawford anyway! Who knows, maybe even Shane Sutherland could take a place on the bench? *Disclaimer* I'm in a rather good mood and really looking forward to tomorrow. There's a chance i'll be back to being miserable on sunday*
  8. I remember that game. It was hogmany and Rory started his first ever competitive match for us, with Wyness on the bench. Can't remember much else about it, apart from the Aberdeen cheerleaders looking freezing!

Here's what my thoughts are, which i'd posted on another forum: If Brewster puts out the right team, we are more than capable of getting the 3 points. I don't think he will, however. My choice: ---------------------Fraser--------------------- Tokely-------Duff--------Munro------Hastings Cowie------Black------Duncan--------Imrie ---------------------Wilson--------------------- ------------------Barrowman------------------ Brewster's probable team: ---------------------Fraser--------------------- Tokely-------McGuire----Munro------Hastings Imrie------Black------Duncan--------McBain ---------------------Cowie--------------------- ------------------Barrowman------------------ These are the players I think can win and lose us the game.... Winners: Andy Barrowman: scored some fantastic goals in pre season and looks lethal in the box. Decent height and speed. Imrie: If he plays wide left he'll cause Foster problems. Quite tricky and has a wicked left foot. Wasted up front or on the right where Brew has tried him in pre season. Black: Fantastic first touch and range of passing, along with finally starting to keep the head. Needs to move forward with the ball more though. Cowie: Incredible workrate and scores some sweet strikes. Losers: Tokely: Has been rotten all year and doesn't look like improving. Time for him to move aside I feel, but unfortunately Proctor (our other RB) is suspended for the first two games of the season McBain: Does nothing going forward and is painfully one footed. Never liked him. McGuire: **Abuse Removed** started off really well with us, but after his injury became complacent and prone to mistakes. It was no surprise that our defence shored up every time Jamie Duff (Under 19 captain and allround good guy) came on to replace McGuire in pre season games Hastings: Another who's had a bad year. I expect him to cost us a lot of goals by not stepping up with the rest of the defence at offsides. Brewster: Won't make any subs till the last 15 minutes, no matter the score. He'll stick to players like McGuire and McBain because they have experience rather than giving better players like Duff, Sutherland and Vigurs a chance. Game Prediction I fancy us to concede at least a goal, but we are more than capable of getting a few against the Dons. So I predict it'll be a nervy 0-0 half time; with the Dons scraping it 2-1 in the second half; Miller and Smith for you guys, Barrowman for us. I'd love us to get Rooney on loan from Stoke City in time, so I can see him play in the flesh. Let the abuse begin
  10. I think the confusion may come from rehashing Black's Interview in Denmark last week; then printing the story a week later. Perhaps??

A home game for me so i'll be there

The % that Marius would be entitled to is 20% apparently, which is a huge amount. I doubt many of us would let that kind of money go to our employers rather than our back pocket! The only defence ICT seem to have is that Marius agreed *quote North Tonight* "in principle to waiving the fee if he could join Dinamo. Unless they have that agreement in writing, i'd imagine they are up creek without a paddle. Hopefully all this can be put to bed before the end of the week followed by the more positive announcement of contract renewals from our present squad.
  13. Glad that trio are being offered a new deal, as they could be the nucleus of our team for a few seasons yet. Mike Fraser should be on the list of immediate contract renewals as well hopefully...

    Cringeworthy... :rolleyes02:

I think he will get a chance this season, but it won't be for a few months. He has hardly started any of the 'bigger' pre season games, suggesting he won't be a first pick from the start for our opening SPL games. Sutherland's comments were encouraging at the end of last season though, saying he'll be battering down Brewster's door if he isn't getting a game :clapping03: He'll just have to prove in the short time he'll get on the pitch as a sub, that he's worth a start.

Just noticed that on the BBC website as well. I guess this is why our website hasn't been updated. I'm really starting to think the board have realised the bid was 500k Euros and not 500k Pound Sterling :rolleyes02:

That's the exact lineup i am expecting from the Dons game, with the only alteration perhaps being Imrie moving to right midfield (despite his lack of experience there) and Cowie supporting the striker. I'd rather Imrie play on the left with Cowie supporting the striker and Wilson coming in to the starting 11 in place of McBain to play right midfield. Zander to come on for Wilson with 30 mins to go if he starts to tire.
  18. Time for my 4 years out of date student card to make another appearance. Amazed it still works to get concession entry :021:
  19. My Montrose supporting mate really rates Garry Wood and thinks he could be a success in the SPL. At the Ross County game I was really surprised to see how much he'd grown in height since last summer; and he wasn't afraid to use that height in attacking the *sigh* long balls from defence. Perhaps this is why Brewster let Bayne go, as Garry Wood could step into the hardworking target man role? Glad it's another positive result on the road

The online edition of the Daily Express reported 4 days ago that Niculae was off to Dinamo Bucharest for ?400k. Never trusted that excuse for a newspaper, but could they be right for once!?
  21. RossP replied to Harry Chibber's topic in Caley Thistle
Just seen that. Glad we didn't take their first offer, hopefully we've also built in some sort of future transfer %. Would love to know what the transfer fee is. Considering Noel Hunt went to Reading for only ?600k, if we got anything above ?500k then we've done really well. Use this money to extend Cowie and Fraser's contracts I say!

None of these players are currently with ICT. Some of them have been linked to ICT in the past i.e. Donaldson, Bullen. To which they have already had threads about them in the Rumour Mill The rest have been plucked from the imagination of a fan, to suggest that if location/wages/career desires etc etc were no object, then we could sign them. So NON-ICT seems to make sense to me.

Aye very good :rolleyes02: Go back to playing Football Manager 08.

Pretty sure Anthony Stokes/Sone Aluko/Josh Walker et al were unproven loan signings... Anyways, here's what Brewster said in yesterday's P&J: He is here for the whole week with us and it would be a loan move if we got him
  25. RossP replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
Really? Aye. He's a young player who by all accounts has a bright future and will enhance our team. To have him at the club for a few seasons rather than one would be more desirable in my eyes. Just ask Aberdeen if they'd of liked to have Josh Walker or Sone Aluko on a permanent deal :tic01:
