  1. Good to see a saltire in the ICT end. Was fed up of all these Irish flags...
  2. According to BBC - Defender Paul Telfer is Celtic's biggest injury doubt for the game with Inverness with a hip problem. Gary Caldwell (knee) and Kenny Miller (ankle) are also doubts, while Mark Wilson has returned to training. Maybe i'm being a bit too optimistic, but with the Man Utd game on tues, i doubt they'd risk Kenny Miller on sat. If Telfer and Wilson are both out too, who could come in at right back for them. Bobo Balde to replace Gary Caldwell? ... so many questions. Either way, lets just put out our strongest squad and get stuck in!! :021:
  3. I went for Dargo. Sods law he'll be suspended for the next game after Celtic though. Can't believe Eugine Dadi is in that illustrious list
  4. Exactley the lineup i'd like to see. With maybe Hart coming on for either Duncan or Rankin if they are underperforming
  5. Me on my lonesome. Playing a charity show with the band at Dingwall Town Hall on friday night, then crashing at the Inverness hostel. Getting up early for the 9.10am megabus down to Glasgae, then prob going to Nice and Sleazy's for a spot of lunch. Followed by the train to Brigtown about 2pmish. Then playing the Classic Grande in Glasgow with the band at night. Seat is: T66-T67- Red, Area 120, Row A, Seat 8.
  6. Final score?? Hope Hart gets a game ahead of McBain on saturday. Really missing his bite in midfield. Plus he scored there last season i remember... omens... Talking of omens.... i had a dream last night that it was 0-0 half time on saturday, but woke up soon after that. Think i'll put a cheeky £10 on a half time 0-0 draw now!!
  7. According to SFA website Scotland and the Republic of Ireland drew 0-0 in a B international in Dublin tonight, in a match which gave an opportunity to a number of fringe players to stake a claim in Walter Smith's future plans. Andy Webster returned to international action as captain of the team at Dalymount Park, partnering St Mirren's Kirk Broadfoot in central defence. Kris Boyd started up front alongside Stephen Naismith, with strong attacking support from Chris Clark, Stephen Pearson and Scott Brown as the Scots sought to impose themselves on the Irish. In a lively first half, the Scots had the better opportunities to score, and Steven Whittaker came close as he ended a superb run with a shot that went wide. Kris Boyd shot straight at the keeper as he ran into the box, and then five minutes before the interval there was a strong claim for a penalty as Scott Brown was fouled on the edge of the box but the English referee ruled the offence was just outside and no penalty. From the resulting free kick Boyd hit the side netting. The flow of the game suffered in the second half from numerous substitutions, but the last quarter of an hour saw chances at both ends to win the game. Ireland's Andy Keogh miskicked a simple chance in front of goal, then three minutes later a Naismith shot was cleared off the line before being tipped over the bar by the keeper. In 82 minutes Mark Brown was forced into a great save from Joe Gamble, who was a threat for the Irish throughout. The game eventually ended without a goal, but it was a useful exercise for the Scots who worked hard throughout but allowed too many careless passes to go astray, ending many a promising move. Scotland could have won but perhaps a draw was a fair result. Ireland: Randolph (Quiqley 86), Foley, Emanuel, Bruce (O'Cearuill 50), McCarthy, O'Donovan (Stokes 50), Gamble, Gibson (Frecklington 50), Keogh (Long 77), McPhail (Potter 46), O'Brien (Hunt 43). Scotland: Gallacher (M Brown 46), Whittaker, Smith (Adam 59), Broadfoot (Greer 54), Webster, Stewart, Naismith, S Brown (Miller 54), Boyd, Pearson, Clark (McEveley 59. Referee: Martin Atkinson (England) Attendance: 3,000.
  8. His contract is up in the summer of 2007. He can sign a pre-contract agreement with another club 6 months before it ends i.e. Jan/Feb time. The club are working hard to get him on a new deal, but as the SPL c*ckup keepers are all over the place now, there will no doubt be vultures swooping around. At the moment, i don;t think anyone can guess what will happen. But like most other ICT fans, I am confident Mike Fraser is ready to step into Brown's shoes should he decide to leave. ... i'm not sure if Mike Fraser's contract is up in summer 2007 too though!! :024:
  9. P & J says Charlie Christie is happy to let some of his Caley Thistle players join Peterhead on loan when the transfer window opens in January - providing Blue Toon manager Steve Paterson is willing to give youth a chance at Balmoor Stadium. Former Inverness and Aberdeen manager Paterson has already been in touch with Caley Jags counterpart Christie with a view to bringing some players to the Second Division club in the new year. He has been offered encouragement by Christie. Christie said: "I've spoken to Steve and, while we haven't mentioned individuals, he realises the situation we have here with no injuries and quality players not getting a game Steve, I'm sure, has more experienced players in mind but it has to be of benefit to both clubs. If Steve wants me to scratch his back he will have to scratch mine and it may be the case where one experienced player is allowed to go on loan along with a youngster. "Peterhead are a good side in a difficult league and I know the benefit that can be found by going on loan. Barry Robson came on in leaps and bounds when he was at Forfar on loan for six months and came back here full of confidence. "With the Scottish Premier Reserve League shutting down for the winter break we will have six or seven guys not playing and I want to keep them ticking over." Christie was unwilling to discuss senior players he would be willing to loan out in January but he is considering allowing some of the younger fringe players the chance to play regularly. He said: "Steve admitted it would be a real feather in his cap to introduce one, maybe two SPL players to his side at Peterhead. He felt the team was a bit lightweight in one or two areas at Morton last Saturday. "I would certainly not allow Rory McAllister to go as he is in the squad every Saturday. But the likes of Stuart Soane comes to mind. He is a youngster who I would love to get more football experience." I'd like to see Soane get 6 months on loan, but would also love to see the likes of Zander and Rory get at least a 1month/2month loan to keep them progressing. Obviously this Under 21 team quota is shooting us in the foot here
  10. Daily Rangers says today... DOUBLE DEAL By Ian Orr CALEY THISTLE are in talks with Peterhead about a possible double loan deal. With Charlie Christie's 21-man Inverness squad remaining remarkably free of injury, competition for places has created a bottleneck. He is cautious about releasing experienced players to the Second Division side during a tough campaign but sees the potential benefit in co-operating with new Peterhead boss Steve Paterson. Christie said: "Steve is honest enough to say it would be a real feather in his cap to introduce one or maybe two Premier League players to his set-up. "I'd be delighted because I trust him 100 per cent and know he'd have our players' best interests at heart."
  11. Just bought my ticket 2mins ago :021:
  12. Goalkeepers Mark Brown (Inverness Caledonian Thistle) Paul Gallacher (Norwich City) Defenders Kirk Broadfoot (St Mirren) Gordon Greer (Kilmarnock) Jay McEveley (Blackburn Rovers) Steven Smith (Rangers) Andy Webster (Wigan Athletic) Steven Whittaker (Hibernian) Midfield Charlie Adam (Rangers) Scott Brown (Hibernian) Stephen Pearson (Celtic) Michael Stewart (Hibernian) Kevin Thomson (Hibernian) Forwards Kris Boyd (Rangers) Chris Clark (Aberdeen) Shaun Maloney (Celtic) Lee Miller (Aberdeen) Steven Naismith (Kilmarnock) CHRIS CLARK!! :008: :015: :019: LEE MILLER!! :020: :024: :015: :009: :008:
  13. The pies were ace :021: I could see the equaliser coming once we got down to the last 5 minutes, and was slightly prepared when it went in. Still dying a death with the cold, and slightly hungover which doesn't help. My Dons supporting S4 Admin class are coming in soon, so i'll no doubt hear their red tinted view of the game *Lee Miller should've got a penalty* * Barry Wilson should of got sent off for a dive* etc etc ...so so close :009:
  14. I am suffering from a mega cold, so am dithering whether to drink for this one; Could be J20's all the way. If we go a goal or two up however.... :021:
  15. I may have yet another Dons fan in tow making it 5 Dons fans plus me :020: Really looking forward to the game now; especially with a lot of my Aberdeen supporting pupils bringing up the game. It would really be great to rub it in tomorrow, after a comprehensive win. The ones that support Rangers still haven't recovered!! I'm aiming to get there for 7pm
  16. Fully agree. Thats where i watch most of the Football games. Didn't realise they had golf outings, may have to enquire about that one :022: Only negative thing about it is on of the barmen supports Elgin City :015: Also, in my opinion it has the 2nd best food in Aberdeen, only bettered by The Prince of Wales
  17. I'd like to agree with you, but i see this being a no score draw :009:
  18. I'd quite like to see that line up. With maybe Duncan on instead of McBain, and Bayne on instead of Wyness.
  19. i take the under 14s team at the school i work at. Really enjoying it so far :021:
  20. Righto, decided to make the trip down to Bon Accord bar, unfortunately i'll have 4 or so Dons fans in tow; nobody's perfect :014: Put the pies in the micro, and put a fresh barrel on.
  21. According to Teamtalk.com A number of the Caley first-team squad have deals which expire at the end of this season, meaning they would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club from January. But Christie has moved to counter that possibility by beginning negotiations with players in the final year of their deals at Caledonian Stadium and is hopeful of completing talks in the coming days. He said: "We are very close to agreeing new contracts with several players, which is great for the club and we are optimistic that those deals will be signed by the start of next week." Despite that positive news, Christie conceded he could still be faced with clubs making a move for his players when the transfer window reopens in January. However, the Caley boss insists he has no problems with rivals taking an interest in his squad, because that is a mark of the Highlanders' recent success. Christie said: "That is what happens when you are a smaller club who are doing well. "I would not be surprised if we had enquiries but that is fine as it is the day when people stop admiring our players that I will be worried." We've heard it all before, but maybe there will be some pens put to paper in the next week; fingers crossed xx
  22. will purchase my ticket tomorrow :005:
  23. Aberdeen have sold less than 700 of their ticket allocation for Monday night's SPL match at Caley Thistle. While moving Aberdeen's home fixture with Hibs for television produced an attendance of 11,179, a smaller crowd than normal is expected at Caledonian Stadium next week. Transport issues will be one reason, with the last train back to Aberdeen from Inverness leaving eight minutes before the game is due to finish. Dons spokesman Dave Macdermid is optimistic the win against Hibs on Monday will prompt more supporters to travel for their side's next game. He said: "Ticket sales for the Hibs game were slow in the days leading up to the match. But our figures show we had double the usual amount of people turning up and paying at the gate to get into the game. "We are hopeful there will be a similar surge in interest after the result on Monday night."
  24. Ok, here's the script. Turns out i'm in Glasgow for a gig with my band on Sat 18th Nov, which according to the fixture list is an away trip to Celtic. So i've seen this as an ideal opportunity for a jaunt to see another historic ICT win, before a quick bolt back into town for soundcheck at 6ish. I've been to Parkheidbefore for Scotland v. Faroes, so know how to get there and back etc. But would like to know if i have to go through a specific method of applying for a ticket (in the away end obviously!). Would it be through ICT? Celtic? Also, anyone hitting the bars in town from 12pm onwards, as i'll prob get the 8amish Megabus down from Aberdeen. Many thanks for any info :022: :025:
  25. .. and since Black got suspended on 6, i'm assuming you need 6 to get a suspension :024: Come to think of it, Rossco is on 3. Leaving Caff/Duncan!!?? that could come in at right back if he gets suspended before xmas transfer window...
