Righto, decided to make the trip down to Bon Accord bar, unfortunately i'll have 4 or so Dons fans in tow; nobody's perfect :014: Put the pies in the micro, and put a fresh barrel on.

According to Teamtalk.com A number of the Caley first-team squad have deals which expire at the end of this season, meaning they would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club from January. But Christie has moved to counter that possibility by beginning negotiations with players in the final year of their deals at Caledonian Stadium and is hopeful of completing talks in the coming days. He said: "We are very close to agreeing new contracts with several players, which is great for the club and we are optimistic that those deals will be signed by the start of next week." Despite that positive news, Christie conceded he could still be faced with clubs making a move for his players when the transfer window reopens in January. However, the Caley boss insists he has no problems with rivals taking an interest in his squad, because that is a mark of the Highlanders' recent success. Christie said: "That is what happens when you are a smaller club who are doing well. "I would not be surprised if we had enquiries but that is fine as it is the day when people stop admiring our players that I will be worried." We've heard it all before, but maybe there will be some pens put to paper in the next week; fingers crossed xx

will purchase my ticket tomorrow :005:

Aberdeen have sold less than 700 of their ticket allocation for Monday night's SPL match at Caley Thistle. While moving Aberdeen's home fixture with Hibs for television produced an attendance of 11,179, a smaller crowd than normal is expected at Caledonian Stadium next week. Transport issues will be one reason, with the last train back to Aberdeen from Inverness leaving eight minutes before the game is due to finish. Dons spokesman Dave Macdermid is optimistic the win against Hibs on Monday will prompt more supporters to travel for their side's next game. He said: "Ticket sales for the Hibs game were slow in the days leading up to the match. But our figures show we had double the usual amount of people turning up and paying at the gate to get into the game. "We are hopeful there will be a similar surge in interest after the result on Monday night."

Ok, here's the script. Turns out i'm in Glasgow for a gig with my band on Sat 18th Nov, which according to the fixture list is an away trip to Celtic. So i've seen this as an ideal opportunity for a jaunt to see another historic ICT win, before a quick bolt back into town for soundcheck at 6ish. I've been to Parkheidbefore for Scotland v. Faroes, so know how to get there and back etc. But would like to know if i have to go through a specific method of applying for a ticket (in the away end obviously!). Would it be through ICT? Celtic? Also, anyone hitting the bars in town from 12pm onwards, as i'll prob get the 8amish Megabus down from Aberdeen. Many thanks for any info :022: :025:

.. and since Black got suspended on 6, i'm assuming you need 6 to get a suspension :024: Come to think of it, Rossco is on 3. Leaving Caff/Duncan!!?? that could come in at right back if he gets suspended before xmas transfer window...
-
Anyone know if there is a way of getting a list of ICT players with the amount of bookings they've had this season so far? Pretty sure Bayne, Munro, Rankin and Dargo are walking a tightrope just now...!! Also, as a side topic: If Killen was sent off for the second time this season against Aberdeen last night, does that mean he gets a 2 game suspension? Effectively ruling him out of Hibs game with ICT

There's a pretty good chance i'll be there (free pies could seal the deal!) Also, off topic; i was watching the Aberdeen v. Hibs game in the Butcher's Arms on George St. (my local), and got speaking to the bar maid. Her son Jamie (didn't ask the surname) is in the Caley under 19s and supposed to be highly regarded at ICT. Now, after the ICT v. Celtic 1-1 draw earlier this season, i popped into the Butchers Arms, for one last celebratory pint; and in there was a kid with a ICT away top. A few of the regulars were telling me stories about this lad being the next big thing, and how Rangers, Celtic and Man Utd etc were all after him before he signed for ICT. I'm guessing its the same boy. I also remember a previous thread containing hints of this "wonderkid". Anyone care to elaborate on this guy?? I also got my pints for dirt cheap, since i was wearing my Caley top. Think thats the first time that has ever happened!!

Bon Accord is the one across from the Golf Course, a wee bit further up from the Caledonian... am i right??
-
Thinking about this in an entirely selfish way... It would be good for us if he got the boot, as there would not be the same rumours and speculation to when/if any of our players would be joining Dundee UTD come Jan or Summer. Am i the only one who is starting to get worried that Brown and Dargo haven't signed new deals yet. Especially as CC said he'd have another chance to sit down with them both in the international break.
-
Partly the reason he is leaving ICT is because Darren and his girlfriend want to start a family, and want to do it in their Edinburgh home. Barnsley is pretty far away from Edinburgh I think. Unless the wage increase tempts his gfriend to upsticks...

I live on Jamaica st, at the top of George st. But have lived at Hilton, King St, Holburn St, Hardgate over the years. I've tended to watch the games with mates in Aberdeen who are mostly all Dons fans. Noteable pubs include the Howff, Ma Camerons, and the Butchers Arms. Not sure if i can make the trip for ICT v. Dons game, as i'm teaching the next day. Probably looking to go to the pub for it, unfortunately with Dons fans in tow probably. Would be nice to know there are a few ICT fans in the pub though, so i'm not the only one cheering if we score/win (i've come very close to a kicking for games v. Celtic and Rangers!) Keep me updated... :clapping04:

I grew up in Elgin. To be honest, it's pretty much the same things that are going on now, that were going on back 7-10years ago. The difference is, that because of the hightened medai interest in Ned/ASBO stories over the last couple of years, its becoming a nationally reported story; instead of playground gossip like back then.

Loved it. Really enjoyed the Old town especially; excellent views at sun down, and a nice wee irish bar showing the Hibs v. Hearts game. The AIK Stockholm v. Helsingborgs game was a totally end to end affair! Don't think they have heard of a holding midfielder over there. Some really rash challenges going completely unpunished as well. Ended up as a 2-2 draw, with Helsinborgs equalising in Injury time. The fans there really know how to sing. One section known as the "Black Army", filled a full end behind one of the goals, and sang all the way through the match. Half Time pies were non existant, so settled on half time popcorn, hotdog and pint of lager :005: It was about £5 roughly for a drink, so we had hip flasks to take away that sting. Only went out properly on sat night (celebrating ICT beating the Gers), and that was around the old town, ending up at popular venue/club Debaser. Don't know what they put in the pints, but that hangover was crippling!!

I'd take Andrew Cave-Brown on loan, as he is very good right back. Could provide competition with Rossco.

I've lived in Aberdeen for about 6years (age 17ish-23ish); moved through for Uni, but now working as a teacher. There are a few other ICT fans up here, but i've only ever met about 1 or 2. Since it was the school hols when ICT beat Rangers, i was in AIK Stockholm's stadium (watching AIK v. Helsinborgs) jumping around when the full time score came through on my mobile. Got a fair few strange glances :clapping04:

One of my pupils got lifted for running onto the pitch when Charlie Adam scored for Scotland Under 21s against France Under 21s; that made for a funny night and subsequent week :clapping04:

Whole heartedly agree. Even last year i was calling for us to experiment with our formation, with perhaps a 3-5-2. I even seem to remember one or two pre-season games this season where we adopted a 3-5-2 formation. (v. Elgin City, and those Italian teams). I could be wrong though. As well as that, our Reserve side usually play a 3-5-2 as well don't they? At least its given CC food for thought.

New season starting soon?
-
Stuart Dougal. Quite happy with that, from what i remember he has been pretty kind with us. I expect differing views though :005:
-
So which games does he miss then?

I'll be at the AIK Stockhom v. Helsingbourgs game, but my mobile phone will be at the ready for score updates...

Springfield bus fae Elgin, down to Hampden and back. Canna mind which pub it is we're going to, but its one of the ones a couple of hundred yards away from the stadium. Springfield Pub opens the back door for pints and rolls at 7.30am apparantly, then leave at 9am. I better pack plenty of non-alcoholic drinks too, otherwise this game will be a total blur!! :017:
