  1. There was an overwhelming stench in the air twenty years ago and although that stench has been somewhat diluted there is still a lingering pong that hasn't disappeared completely Another twenty years at least needs to pass before that air starts clearing Dougal
  2. Found some vintage muppet show action with Tam Cowan and Bannerman Dougal
  3. By freezing the season ticket costs the club appear to be genuinely worried that the interest in season tickets are on the decline or that is the message that's portrayed to me anyway Ok freezing it is a reasonable gesture but a slight decrease in cost would have maybe encouraged the numbers who aren't renewing to rethink or better still recruit some new Could be a little ambitious in thinking they might get 1000 but let's hope so Dougal
  4. You will find various supporters clubs in Inverness but sadly none are ICT? Not sure you could class Caleyjagsforever a supporters club to be honest but I will apologise if that's how they see themselves We have like most towns and cities in Scotland both Orc and Septics but also County,Aberdeen,Manchester Utd even f****** Dundee Draw your conclusions from that but it's a sorry indictment on Invernessians Dougal
  5. Yes that was my understanding as well, sadly it looks like these two temporary eyesores now appear to be all of a sudden permanent fixtures according to the club and a section of the support Let's be honest here they were thrown up with no thought given to the fans in terms of view and atmosphere, ok they are not as unsightly as the two uncovered wings in the main stand but they still are an embarrassment Twenty years ago one of the conditions for league admission was that a new all seated stadium was to be erected, ok it could be argued that it was delivered albeit very loosely but the feeling of being short changed remains with many of us to this day Dougal

  7. Alex I'm not sure if you are deliberately trying to cause unrest this morning or whether you are fishing but do you not think summer football would have been introduced decades ago if it was going to happen? Like I said on the other thread football is a traditional game that's always played through the winter months with the break up in the summer. I'm not adverse to a winters break being introduced which possibly would mean extending the season slightly or introducing more midweek games Most folk enjoy having a summer break from football as they can spend more time with family, gardening and going away on holiday Every second summer there is a euro championship or a World Cup on anyway so people who want it still get their fix Summer football is a no no for me Dougal
  8. What rubbish football is one of the oldest sports started off on grass and that's the way it should remain there is enough of a plastic issue going on already without adding to it by installing an artificial surface Ask any decent player and they would prefer to play on grass no argument If the day comes that top sides start laying these pitches you will see thousands of supporters walk away from the game and never return Artificial pitches what then? Venders going around selling hot dogs and popcorn? Karaoke for pop star wannabes at half time? Scottish football is fast becoming a circus on its own without trying to quicken the process Dougal
  9. Poor Fraz just back from Easter Road in what seems a right foul mood I wonder why that is? Dougal
  10. It's very odd indeed that our pitch has deteriorated so bad this year, could the ground be contaminated? Coming up to near twenty years at the dump I think it's inevitable that the ground has been affected somewhat by sea water and sea air Regardless what the cause is it looks like we will have to completely re turf the pitch in the summer and that can't be done on the cheap Dougal
  11. Sneckboy From what I'm hearing they are solely interested in winning league titles and not into gaining a place in the senior leagues so I guess they would renege the chance for the step up and the place would go to the southern team to battle it out with the bottom league team To be honest I think they are just too far away geographically and they probably realise that themselves I'd imagine they would strengthen again in the summer though so next years Scottish Cup could be interesting to see how far they get Dougal
  12. Maybe Caleyjagsforever could add this topic at their next meeting it's all very well admitting the chants were offensive but without action the problem won't go away A closer working relationship with the club and the authorities should help weed out the troublemakers I blame movies like football factory and green street, school children are easily lead and they think that kind of behaviour is sadly acceptable Dougal
  13. From what I'm hearing the benefactors have a five year plan to see Brora win the Highland League five times in a row which will make them have the longest winning streak of being champions in Highland League history Dougal
  14. I'm afraid our so called support do us no favours even if it is a minority who seem to enjoy anti social behaviour Take Friday night alone we had an arrest before the game when I saw one of our fans handcuffed and carted off in a police car, then we had the sickening chants, followed by the smoke bomb and a fan running on the park when the winner went in Don't think we can gripe on about a drum when some behave like they do, heavy handed stewarding will only get worse due to Friday night Dougal
  15. All those who boycotted should be feeling rather silly now They missed a great game, you follow your team through the bad times as well as the good An important lesson learned I reckon Dougal
  16. These little scrotums should be named shamed and hit with football banning orders Let's face it this is not an isolated incident, we've had the famine song the big jock songs and banners along with all the flares being set off We all need to eradicate this disease that's spreading within our ranks The immortal jungle ender is right we should all shout down these morons or failing that report them to the authorities Dougal
  17. I'm delighted for yogi I know the form of late ain't good to say the least but he has shut up the roasters who never gave him a chance from day one I thoroughly enjoyed the game last night albeit in front of a disgraceful travelling support Caleyjagsforever need to be more proactive there is something far wrong when we can't muster 1000 fans in a local derby Dougal
  18. I personally would give Christie and Polworth starts You never know it might entice some more punters through the gates knowing their are local boys in the starting line up I'd also be quite happy to give Essen some game time that way Brill could concentrate on some kicking practice and getting his confidence back Dougal
  19. Aye maybe it's time we got a woman in the dug out? Dougal
  20. I fail to see how you come to that conclusion Rig If anything I'm having a dig at the hundreds/thousands of Invernessians that have rejected ICT not the hundreds of incomers who have swelled our paltry support since the off We average about 2500 hard core support and half are incomers so they should be applauded because without them we would not have an SPL team Take it Bannerman taught you in School as you don't appear to be the sharpest Dougal
  21. Someone must know him as there can't be many that have such an accent amongst all the incomers Dougal
  22. Kingsmills you must be the No1 negative poster on the site these days, I'm pretty surprised you are so anti-yogi when you consider your hero was Jim Leishman Yogi is here for the entirety of his contract in the boards eyes that's why he was offered a long term contract, I very much doubt we could afford to sack him at present even if it was justifiable Sad thing is Yogi and Russell possibly read this site and it certainly doesn't send out a very nice welcome to Inverness to either of them Butcher saw the start of the decline that's why he bailed out and now Yogi has had to pick up the pieces so the least he deserves is some time and that would be a year in my opinion Anyway Brora can win the title at Keith next week Mahonio Dougal
  23. Next weeks more likely to be a caleyjagsforever special with the table full off freshly baked cup cakes and other assorted home baking left overs from their bus for Yogi to give his full approval Almost lost for words and that has never happened to me before Dougal
  24. How are Brora Rangers getting on this season Mahonio, mid table was your prediction was it not? Anyway back on topic I'm delighted for Yogi after today's result Yogi is here for the long haul and I'm 100% behind him Dougal
  25. So our first home game since the final and we seem to have lost 5k missing fans Let's be honest here this just highlights that they weren't fans at all, one game a season glory hunting vermin IMO Invernessians hate ICT we need to accept we have about 3k loyal fans albeit consisting a large amount of incomers but without them we would be in a right pickle Our terrible home crowds are what they are let's just accept and move on as these threads are getting boring Dougal
