  2. I take it your pension is safe? My own was increased a couple of years back from 4.5% to 6% to maintain the same final salary pension and my employers are going through a consultation process to increase that to 8% of my salary from January. We don't have the union at my work but many of our colleagues are members and I'd probably strike if directed to. Our working terms and conditions have deteriorated over the last few years and there has to come a point where the employer is shocked into listening. If your work doesn't have a union how can your colleagues be in it and how can you strike if your not in a union IIRC anyone can join most unions (tho some are only for teachers etc) you don't have to 'have one' at your place of employment.
  3. I was in Unison when I worked in Glasgow City Council, went on strike twice during that time for pension rights if I remember correctly. Not in one anymore now that im back in Inverness and working in a completely different line of work. My old man is the boss anyway and there are only 3 employees so not much call for a union!

  6. Got BT since moving back to Inverness, service is ok so long as you don't actually have to deal with them, internet speed is awful tho at 1.3Mbps. Down to my 'huge' distance to the exchange (under 3 miles). I really do miss ntl/virgin cable from when I lived in Glasgow always found their speed, service and price to be excellent. Wish that they were available up here as a real alternative to BT lines.
  7. Rollerbowl then the Nip Inn for beers.
  8. I thought he had a pretty good game, liked how he gave Dayton pelters for his diving. Hogg didn't look quite so assured nearly gifting Killie a goal and giving away a free kick in an dangerous position. I still feel on the whole we give the opposition too much time on the ball in the final third and need to close down with a little more urgency. That said all in all a much improved performance where for large parts of the game we looked like we had self belief and the confidence to win, and that's great to see. We put a good number of balls into the box but there never seemed to be anyone on the end of it most of the time would still like to see a poacher / target man to resolve this.
  9. Ditto Unfortunatly I have a bad feeling that if things don't go our way from the get go and we make a few mistakes that a good number of folk will do the opposite.
  10. Quite unfortunate I reckon, I thought he looked a decent player and pretty reliable. If he played last Sat in place of Roman we my well have fared better. Once Golobart arrived straight into the team he prob thought 'well the gaffer clearly wants him ahead of me' and didn't fancy warming the bench or playing with the younger lads. Could be off the mark but that would be my interpretation.
  11. It is probably my failing, however I do not understand your logic. The whole point of the changes made since last season is to look at moving the club forward over the coming years. Whether we end up higher or lower this season is in many ways academic as long as there is progress being made by what is an exceptionally young team with a view to improved positions over the coming season. The injuries which have happened have had a significant adverse effect in that a different team is having to play each week. This is not helpful for getting players to gel with the rest of the team. I still look back to the fact that we were good for the early and end parts of last season and had relegation form for the middle two quarters. This gave a big hint that some changes were needed and the Manager has broadly turned to younger untried players (at SPl level), but whom offer greater potential than some of the players last season. If we had money to spend then we could buy in the finished article. We simply don't and as a result a number of the players are brought in on the basis that they will develop over time (think back as to how many people thought Tokely, Duncan & co would be able to hack it at SPL level when we first got promoted?). It would of course be nice if they could 'click' next week before we drop too far off the pace Maybe for you our league position the season is academic but my wife and I paid several hundred pounds THIS SEASON so I care about the results THIS SEASON but maybe that's just my crazy thinking. Perhaps I could extrapolate results from seasons past and future but all I care about is 2011/2012 just now. Again I can only apologigse from my lack of optimism but I don't agree about our 'spending' point that we could 'buy' the finished article and I reckon throwing cash at things ain't always a good answer. For ICT I believe a strong team spirt and 'one for all and all for one' attitute has done us no harm. Obviously injuries are not helping but how may more games do you give until we need a striker?. As I have said before I hope the Killie game is gravy and we kick ass, but on current evidence but I'm really worried as to where consistant goals will come from.
  12. With that logic I can only assume that Foran, Hayes, Esson, Tokley, Ross and Doran (oh and Hogg) should be dropped as thay were all part of a team that failed last season. Therefore if we achieve any less than 7th place this season will it be an abject failure in (TB's) and others eyes? Maybe I'm the only negative guy in Inverness! (perhaps living in Glasgow for too long!) Dont get me wrong but I'd love nothing more than to make top 6 but on current evidence (as you say we can't see the future) things are not looking too hot. PS - IMO we need a poacher / target man ASAP but then maybe I don't understand our new passing game we have.
  13. Fecking SFA morons I would at least have some respect for them if could admit their faults and errors. As usual they are faultless and can do no wrong, ignorant cnuts.

  16. I'm not so sure tbh, they hardly covered themselves in glory against the likes of Barrowman! Don't mind being wrong tho.
  17. [Hi I wrote this lot above way back I didn't expect anyone to take any notice, but there is such a thing as second season syndrome. I expect either ICT or Dunfermline to be retegated this year. Because Dunfermline have just been promoted and will fight for every point I think ICT will miss out I havent got a season ticket this year. Not prepared to be bored out of my mind for a second year running Either learn to take throw ins or sign Rory Dilap when he becomes a free agent Doubt if I shall visit this forum again Laurence Damn, that ****** gif aint working!

I've given up on the catering in the stadium, usually pop to Woodys for a late lunch before the game now, far more economical!

Yes he had a very poor game today and was rightly subbed, with Doran on we looked far more effective moving from midfield to attack. Lets keep it in perspective though I thought Gillet and even Tokley were pretty rotten today too. Most players, even Foran last season have a dip in form for whatever reason and the proof in the pudding will be in how Nick responds to it, chin up young man!
  20. Hibs never deserved to win that not in a million years, neither did we though tbh. 3 or 4 great chances in or around the 6 yard box and we missed them all, if we don't sharpen up and take chances like that then we are going to struggle cos Hibs were pretty poor. That said we should have had a penalty. Hayes and Doran looked hungry in addition Tade and Foran worked hard. Thought Tokley and Gillet in particular looked sloppy, some of our passing was awful (as was Hibs') Here's hoping players gel and sharpen up soon because on that showing, we are lacking sharpness at the back and someone to poach goals in the box.
  21. 0-1 hibs
  22. Hibs goal chalked off for offside
  23. Ross off Doran on
  24. Looked to me like we shud have had a penalty for a handball linesman never gave it
