  1. Foran is a total dud as a manager - has there ever been a worse manager in Scottish football? Certainly not many. He inherited a decent side, quickly turned us to shite, and doesn't have a clue how to sort it.
  2. It's not too late to bring in a proper manager, get a new manager bounce and have a chance of staying up. It's our only chance.
  3. I thought he had a great 15/16 season. It's hard to imagine that at his age he would suddenly be a less good footballer than he was, which makes it likely that his lack of progress this season is down to a different manager's tactics, positioning, roles for him etc.
  4. OFW seems back to his previous self after a very bad 2 or 3 months.
  5. Somebody mentioned on another thread that it's been a terrible season for results going against us. It hasn't - in fact the opposite is the case, despite some bad ones in recent weeks. After 31 games, we are merely one point ahead of where Dundee Utd were at the same stage (they actually had 6 wins to our 4). Utd, however, had been completely adrift for months, they were a laughing stock, effectively relegated already. They went on to take a decent 7 points post-split, but still their final tally of 28 was 8 behind the team in 11th and 15 behind 10th. So we are no better than they were (well, 1 point better) and yet all season there has been a whole bunch of clubs within touching distance of us, enabling Foran to talk about top 6 until a few weeks ago, whereas Utd were just talking about staying sufficiently in touch to give themselves a chance if they won all their post-split games. So results elsewhere have been very favourable to us, preventing our dismal points tally from leaving us completely adrift, and helping to mask what a terrible, terrible job Foran has done with this side.
  6. There are plenty of inexperienced managers who do pretty well in their first job, because they have an aptitude for it. The kindest I can be about Foran is to say that there is, after almost a full season, no evidence that has got what it takes to be a good manager. He inherited a decent mid table team with a solid core and quite a few players of top 6 calibre. His task was to form a new attacking spearhead, which he did by playing a lumbering forward upfront on his own. The board backed him fully and dug deep in January to bring in Mckay in particular, but to little avail. In a league of mostly mediocre sides, we have won only 4 games out of 31, whilst also being embarrassed in both cups. I just can't imagine that there is any manager in British professional football who could have done a worse job.
  7. Time running out, only 7 games left to save our asses. Still not too late to bring in a manager who knows what he's doing.
  8. Sounds like we can take some positives, but at the end of the day it's just another defeat and 1 win in 19 now.
  9. 5 of our former players now on the pitch against us. Must be a record? Edit - just 4 as Rooney subbed off.
  10. Ta. I was relying on a foreign gambling site, which rather sadly is usually the best way to get U20 updates!
  11. Looks like we lost 1-0 to a 94th minute goal.
  12. The appointment and subsequent loyalty to Foran are Board decisions that can rightly be questioned, but the statement I've quoted doesn't seem justified or fair to me.
  13. Mann, Wyness and G Shinnie were as good as ever for us after securing their futures elsewhere, same goes for guys like Watkins who didn't have PCAs but had clearly decided to move on. If there's nothing to play for then you can drop the player and try out some alternatives for next season - but we simply aren't in that position!
  14. 1 win in 18 games is pathetic. We don't have the worst team in the league, we just have the worst manager.
  15. Today was a day when we should definitely have been picking up more points than Hamilton and Motherwell.
  16. Drat, Hamilton look likely to get a win after 2 opposition players got sent off for fighting each other. Why can't we get luck like that?!
  17. I know what you are saying, but games are running out and we need some wins. This is as good an opportunity as any to get one. Interestingly, the teams that have the greatest number of draws this season find themselves in the bottom 2 places. Meanwhile, the teams with the greatest number of defeats are currently safe!
  18. Mind you, Aberdeen are on great form - you certainly wouldn't want to be their next opponents.
  19. Yeah, James Vincent and Nick Ross were part of the Dundee side that lost 0-7, whilst Danny Williams wasn't good enough to get into that team.....
  20. I don't think "servant" is ever an appropriate wording for a professional footballer these days. They are highly paid to do something they love, and get loads of time off into the bargain. It's hardly servitude! Good employee, if anything.
  21. I don't see it as a big call at all, despite the conflict of interest. He will undoubtedly want ICT, his teammates and friends, to stay up, plus he has no desire himself to be part of a failed, relegated team.
  22. Jonny Hayes made his first start for (a much weakened) Ireland last night in a 0-1 home defeat to Iceland. He had previously made an appearance off the bench about a year ago in another friendly. He'll soon be 30, so this might be as good as it gets as far as his international career goes. In contrast, Stuart Armstrong made an impressive Scotland debut v Slovenia, with a neat bit of play to create the winning goal. If only his parents hadn't moved away to Dundee, we'd........well, let's be realistic, we'd have sold him for £50,000 to the first club to show any interest!
  23. Slightly off topic, but worth mentioning that Jamie McCart made his Scotland U21 debut last night in a 0-0 with Estonia.
  24. Hopefully it's just a ruse to get sympathy and a seat on the Tube while he's down there!
  25. For the last couple of seasons St J have had great vocal support at games from their Young Team, the Fair City Unity. But similar to what we are reading here, most other fans find their other antics to be an embarrassment to the club. It's a pity that groups like this can't seem to give great support without it being accompanied by some unsavoury stuff.
