Can't blame them, that's a helluva price for a Partick match.
  2. At his age it might be hard for him to come back at all, at any decent level at least. I wouldn't expect to see him again. 14/15 broke his leg 15/16 ruptured tendon in hamstring 16/17 Achilles surgery Very unlucky for him and for us. Whilst he hasn't had time to make much impact here, it's obviously very bad news that the nearest thing we have to a big name, big wage summer signing is crocked. Another season, another wasted wage!
  3. Really? Let's just wait and see on that one!
  4. Thinking about it, was this performance any worse than the 0-0 at Stirling earlier this year? We were equally inept at breaking down the opposition that day, but also allowed them several scoring opportunities compared to just one or two v Alloa. The result itself wasn't as bad but we could very easily have lost to a team a league below Alloa.
  5. For games like this a "None of the above" option should be considered!
  6. I guess we can draw a close to this oddly titled thread. In the end it was us that got battered, and fried.
  7. I was trying to think when we've lost before to a team 2 leagues below us - Queen's Park in the League Cup?
  8. What he said was true though, if the Polworth sidefooted shot onto the bar (tipped by the keeper, I think) had gone in, I think we'd be having a different discussion tonight.
  9. My first chance to see the new signings, and one word impressions based on tonight: McNaughton - mature King - anonymous Boden - ineffective Mulraney - terrible (when it comes to final ball, at least) Good to have Doran back - he tried, perhaps too hard. Fisher looked much more of a handful and more likely to score than Boden did, so I'd start with him next time.
  10. A week ago I would have agreed with you, but if we don't improve from Partick and Alloa then we will get relegated, no doubt. Plenty of time though.
  11. Looking forward to my first game of the season, and just hoping for anything that will get us into the last 8. We were pretty poor on Saturday, whilst Alloa have been showing consistent, tremendous form this season, with home advantage on an artificial pitch, hoping to reach the QF for the first time in 50 years. They will fancy their chances, let's hope we can take our chances.
  12. Storm in an ICT-cup.
  13. It's all just standard SNP rhetoric but without the media training. I particuarly like the bit when the camera pans round to show the watching audience...of none!
  14. Perhaps that was because all our previous games were against lower league sides.
  15. It must have been love (street).....
  16. For every 7-3 there was a 0-6...... but it's still better than a load of dull draws!
  17. Good effort! Agree that the black on blue isn't easy for the eyes.
  18. Curfew tags? For fans and players!
  19. As did the SPFL site!
  20. Is it really 13 years since we last visited Recreation Park? (Or the "Indodrill Stadium" as it is now....) Our last 2 trips to Alloa were easy wins, 6-0 and 5-1, but last time we were there in a cup we lost 3-2.
  21. No harm in asking! Reminds me of the time I phoned a small local cinema one evening to ask when the film starts, and (true story!) got the reply "When can you get here?"
  22. Straight knock-out now, one leg, tie will be 9th or 10th August. What I'm not so sure about is what happens in the event of a draw after 90 mins - straight to pens like in the group stages, or extra time first? I'd suspect the latter, but I'm sure someone wil be able to confirm.
  23. The prize money for this competition is: £200k Winners £100k Runners-up £70k beaten semi-finalists £50k beaten QFs £30k beaten in 2nd round £15k-£23k if knocked out in group stage, depending on position On top of this prize money there is additional money for the teams involved in televised games (£30k for each finalist, but smaller sums in earlier rounds, I would presume) and of course a share of gate receipts.
  24. Alloa v ICT!
