Palace
Not just Scotland that has dodgy VAR decisions! Insufficient evidence that the keeper handled the ball outside the box so no red card.

Next Season’s Opponents
I recall that game was a day or two after Christmas. I was visiting family down in the Borders and decided to go to the game, but soon got caught in a blizzard and thought this is madness, so I turned back. So the only times I’ve been to that ground are when my daughter’s team had cup finals that were held there. Those finals now get played at Hampden but we never got that privilege, which is a shame.

Next Season’s Opponents
True but I think East Fife could do quite well in League 1 whereas Annan would have been down at the bottom again.

2025/26 Squad
Not sure how I feel about Billy getting another year. For about 40 games this season he looked pretty much finished - some good hold up play and passes but he wasn’t sharp and offered no goalscoring threat. Then when his contract is about to expire he puts in 3 great performances with goals! I guess it was only out of necessity that he was starting every week, and hopefully we will be able to sign a goalscoring striker or two this summer so that Billy is an option rather than the only option.

Big Dunc’s book
Clearly we were mad to get rid of him!

2025/26 Squad
Mainly good news, with 11 extensions agreed. Disappointing but not surprising that 4 of our best players (Musa, Savage, Allen, Gilmour) have not accepted their offers, not yet anyway, but you have to imagine that they haven’t accepted because they are looking elsewhere or have other offers already. I’d be pleasantly surprised if we can hold on to any of them.

We also had income of £92,000 from player trading, with no further details provided.

I see we got a £20,000 player development fee from Accrington Stanley. Would that be for Ben Woods?

ICT are staying up!! Well Done everyone.
An example of age discrimination sometimes being permitted. Pensioner discounts arose a century ago on the presumption that pensioners were poor, and of course many still are, but the wealthiest people I have known in my life have all been over 65. It’s obviously not possible for football clubs to do means testing, and I don’t know what the answer is, but reducing the discount doesn’t seem unreasonable to me. However, I reserve the right to take a different view when I reach 65!

Montrose away Final game 2025
Indeed but I was thinking today, how many of the starting line up will we realistically retain for next season, 3?

Montrose away Final game 2025
Noticed that Montrose had a young midfielder with the wonderful first name Lancelot. He showed a bit of talent for a 17yo, but couldn’t prevent his team from being put to the sword. (Sorry!)

Montrose away Final game 2025
Good performance, entertaining game and a well deserved win that probably should have been more comfortable than it was. Terrific away support, about 400 of us, very much in party mood and giving great support to the team. Only downside was that Montrose only opened 1 turnstile at the away end (compared to 3 quiet turnstiles at the home end) and they didn’t do anything to rectify it so we were all queuing 15 minutes to get in and I presume some of our fans would have missed the first few minutes at least.

Have a guess and you’ll be right!

Montrose away Final game 2025
Very entertaining game so far with loads of chances for both sides, mainly us, but Machado missed a sitter a couple of minutes before we scored. The strong wind will be behind us in the second half.

Big Dunc’s book
Oh, and are we about to discover that Scot Gardiner placed a pre-order of 50,000 copies for the club shop?!

Big Dunc’s book
I see Big Dunc has a book coming out next week. I won’t call it an autobiography because there is no way he actually wrote it, but he’s certainly had an interesting life and I’ll be interested to know what (if anything) he says about his time with us.

Montrose away Final game 2025
This could go one of two ways - confident team playing with gay abandon and players making their final appearance for us wanting to go out on a high note. Or end of season meaningless fare with the players thinking about what to pack for Magalluf and making sure they don’t risk injury.

Arbroath crunch game Apr2025
Derek McInnes said tonight that Brannan has had an excellent loan spell with us and will be promoted to Killie’s first team squad next season.

Unarguably the best achievement in football?
Leicester City were bottom of the EPL and 7 points from safety with 9 games to go. They got 7 wins and a draw! So they stayed up, and then won the league the next season. Fairy tale stuff.

Musa
In financial terms yes you are right, but the likes of Man U and Liverpool can’t offer him the chance to play at Peterhead, and they haven’t even qualified for the SPFL Trust Trophy!
-
Musa
Well why not, he makes fewer mistakes than Onana!

Arbroath crunch game Apr2025
Dunc will believe that he laid the groundwork for this achievement.

Arbroath crunch game Apr2025
Whilst Dumbarton going into administration gave us real hope that we could stay up, at the end of the day their 15 point deduction has actually made no difference to us securing safety.

Arbroath crunch game Apr2025
The Arbroath keeper surely should’ve done better at the first goal, he seemed to get his hands to Bray’s header? And he’ll be frustrated that he essentially saved the penalty but let it squirm in. No stopping the 3rd from Billy though. Where’s that finishing ability been all season?!

Arbroath crunch game Apr2025
Worth adding that we now have the best defensive record in League 1. Arbroath were best for most of the season but then they conceded 3 today!
