There's no "Young Player of the Month" award any more which is a pity as Polworth would surely be a shoe-in for December. I'd like to think, though, that his name would at least be mentioned when the actual PotM award is being discussed. But regardless of that, he's had a great month, a breakthrough month.

What just happened?! Really strange trying to follow a game whilst at work, I think that's a first for me. Difficult to contain emotions in a professional manner during those last few minutes. Great stuff, great outcome, really wish I'd been there.

Your missus has absolutely no reason to worry what all the notches in your bedpost signify!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Beauly and the Beast?

After reading that a few times I now realise that when you say you were "at it" when we were mentioned, you mean you were at the present at the awards ceremony - as opposed to being "at it" in the sexual sense, which puts a somewhat different perspective on the remainder of your post!

Must have been a great moment for James Vincent to see himself feature so prominently on SPOTY, even just for a few seconds. (I trust he was watching that, and not The Sound of Music).

It certainly is rather curious that we are playing rather makeshift defences and leaking too many goals, whilst a mainstay from our most successful team ever isn't getting a look in.

"One or two might have to leave to try and get one or two in" - John Hughes on BBC website today.

A week ago I asked what Latapy was up to these days, and since then he's been in the papers a few times. Yesterday's Sun filled a column inch or two with a "he could be the man for Alloa" non-story which had no basis other than the fact that he was interviewed for the position when it was available last season. The Record today says Latapy is very keen on the St Mirren vacancy, and also mentions that he applied for the Motherwell job a couple of months ago.

Indeed, there's some great distribution in that video - just needs to put on a few stone and he could finally be the replacement for Bobby Mann! However, some of the fancy stuff is a bit heart-stopping, and presumably the showreel omits the times it all went wrong and he got dispossessed.......

Love it, that's Lille, who I used to go and see when I lived there. Interestingly both French clubs you've shown have alcohol sponsors, when not so long ago there was a ban on advertising it in France. The Scotland rugby team, when they were sponsored by Famous Grouse, always had to remove the sponsor from their shirts when playing France.

It's great to have the top 6 well and truly in our sights, but if we hadn't won today we'd have been in the relegation play-off spot!

Phew, a well earned win that should have been sealed long before. But what is it about us and conceding late goals?

Nae chance. I suspect we'll be lowest on account of our low crowds, but I wonder if the new sponsor has had the foresight to anticipate the potential reduction in exposure from relegation of any of the clubs (I have Utd in mind there!)

Has Russell Latapy had any employment since, ahem, leaving ICT to become a manager in his own right? I can't find any record of him doing anything. One recent development is that, after many years of legal wrangling, he is finally starting to receive payment of a $1m out of court settlement in respect of unpaid earnings and wrongful dismissal from his time managing T&T.

McEwan Fraser Legal, for the next 2 seasons. They are also sponsoring both Dundee clubs. http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/Sport/Football/Caley-Thistle-to-have-new-sponsors-for-2016-17-season-08122015.htm

About a year ago my mate got us a pair of tickets to see the Manic Street Preachers - as it turned out, it was on Cup final day and the celebrations meant I never actually made it to the gig. 12 months later, they've just announced another gig in Scotland, and would you believe it, it's on Cup final day again. So I'm getting another ticket and very much hoping not to be there!

From BBC. For many teams this will largely replace pre-season friendlies. Thoughts? Scottish football will next season launch a revamped League Cup with a group stage and bonus-point system. The Scottish Professional Football League will also reintroduce a two-week winter break in January. The group stage will involve all 38 teams not involved in European competition, plus the winners of the Highland League and Lowland League. "The new format marks an exciting new chapter for the competition," said SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster. "It sees Scottish football leading the way with a number of innovations." There will be eight groups of five teams playing each other once in a round-robin format, to take place across five July dates (16, 20, 23, 27 and 30) and will use the traditional three points for a win and one point for a draw model. However, in what the SPFL believes will be a first in world football, all drawn matches will go straight to a penalty shoot-out, with the winner awarded a bonus point. Eight group winners and the four best runners-up progress to the second round, when they are joined by the four clubs competing in Europe, and then revert to a traditional knockout format.

Not even Charles could blame the SNP for the weather. He could however, ask where the hell the First Minister is when much of Scotland is affected by the severest flooding for many years, and when much of Eastern Scotland is suffering travel chaos and economic consequences from the closure of the FRB. He could also ask if it was wise or necessary of her to recently commit £12m of our money to assist with flooding in Africa, on top of the massive overseas aid and development budgets that the UK government controls. Anyway, to answer the question, whilst the UK was holding a COBRA meeting and the PM visited the flood affected areas, our FM proceeded with a pointless jaunt to Paris.

You could be onto something with the chorus there, I can see that being used. Maybe end it with "Caley Jags go marching on, on, on!"
-
On a day like today you could also have added "The Rain Song" or even "When The Levee Breaks"!

The radio announcement I heard (and BBC website) say it was due to high winds. Not that it really matters!
