  1. He was just too slow and ponderous for this league, but clearly has a bit of skill. A return to the lower levels of Spanish football might even enable him to score into double figures this season, just as Yogi promised!
  2. Not a good one for us, but looking at the draw, the only team that can justifiably and confidently expect to be in the last 8 is Celtic. Edit: Oh, and perhaps Partick Thistle!
  3. Doesn't fancy his chances of getting ahead of Alex Fisher in the pecking order.
  4. Oh to have had the creativity of Ryan Christie as well, I'm pretty sure he'd have unlocked that defence with a bit of craft.
  5. What got me was that in the 2nd half we got a large number of crosses into the box but hardly any of them seem to find an ICT player, in fact most of them were overhit.
  6. It's quite striking that after scoring in 10 consecutive games, we draw a blank against part-timers from the 4th flight, who have conceded 3 in each of their last 2 games, v East Fife and East Stirling!
  7. There will be plenty of critcism of ICT, and much of it will be deserved, but the first thing I want to say is to give credit to Stirling, who should be very pleased with their solid performance. They were very well organised, kept their shape resolutely and defended very well. Hitting on the break they had chances to snatch a win too.
  8. The comments from John Collins today were certainly quite encouraging in that ICT seem to be Celtic's preferred destination, but it really depends if the player wants to come here or not. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35265183 If the mooted moves do come to fruition, we'll have done very well in this transfer window to have Lopez out and Stokez in.
  9. ".....and besides the chance of first team football, Anthony, it might interest you to know that Inverness is the home of the I.R.A."
  10. I'm presuming he's referring to the 2-0 v Hearts when he "went down easily" and got Oshaniwa sent off?
  11. Predictably, other clubs are rumoured to be after Stokes, including Hibs and Leeds.
  12. You're absolutely right there, the lack of quotes or source makes it look like a lazy journalist just filling column inches - BUT it is interesting to note that the Scotsman and Express are running with the same story.
  13. It's not that long ago that you were only allowed 3 - remember Aberdeen deciding not to put a sub keeper on the bench for the Cup Final and Leighton getting carried off early on...... I'll be interested to see if we actually name 7 subs and incur the potential bonus payments for subs 6 and 7 who have almost zero chance of being used.
  14. Played for 10 clubs in 4 different countries, and still only 25! Can you be labelled a journeyman at that age? Scored goals wherever he's been which is encouraging, although I'm not sure how high a level some of these clubs were playing at.
  15. Just let it go mate, let it go.
  16. which is why I can see Dundee Utd being interested, he's the kind of hired gun a team in their desperate situation might try to bring in on a short term deal.
  17. According to a (translated) Turkish betting forum, we lost 1-3.
  18. We've clearly done OK for keepers over the years, when you consider that the one who just a few weeks ago was capped by the team ranked 8th in the world only just makes our top 5!
  19. How close - within spitting distance?!
  20. Very true but before we start to convince ourselves that our leaky defence is improving, let's remember that County's 2 main goalscorers were missing (20 goals between them so far). For comparison, we wouldn't be much of a threat to anyone if you had to replace, say, Storey, Tansey and Polworth (17 between them).
  21. You should have stopped the car and made him get out and walk!
  22. Post-match comments from Hughes (from BBC): With that pace and the form he's on, that's the first bit of business that we want to try and do," said Hughes. "Everything else is on hold because the goalposts have been moved a little. "Hughes made light of his efforts to contact Swindon Town chairman, Lee Power. We read a newspaper article that Lee Power says he's in talks with Inverness," Hughes told BBC Scotland. "He's not answered his phone to me. It's ongoing. I'm going to strangle him. Goalposts moved? Budget not as big as hoped? Plans to offload a player fallen through?
  23. That's 5 games in a row that we have scored 2 or more goals, going 2-0 up in 4 of them. Today we could really do with one of those 90 minutes performances that we've been longing for and perhaps even a clean sheet. Remember them?!
  24. A point today would probably be enough to move us into the top 6 - for the second time in 3 days!
  25. I like the way the Accies no. 24 celebrates our second goal.
