Ryan Christie
It seems to be taking an awfully long time for this deal to complete. Only a few hours left before the (Scottish) window shuts.

I think that is fair. They are not going to pay a million when they can sign him on a pre-contract in 4 months. If we couldn't agree a new deal for Christie, I would fancy our chances leaving it to a court to decide what is a fair settlement for training compensation. Ryan Gauld - sold for £3 mil James McCarthy - sold for £1.2 mil Stuart Armstrong - sold for £2 mil Both McCarthy and Armstrong have been awarded PFA and SFWA young player of the year awards, respectively. With Christie being SFWA young player of the year 2014/15, I think a good lawyer could easily make a very fair argument that > £1 mil is fair compensation. Training compensation and market value are completely different things. I'm not even sure we'd get into 6 figures for the former.

Replacement Striker?
Swindon Advertiser match report from Storey's last game: With Town still looking blunt up top Cooper introduced Storey, but the move backfired. Not only was Storey ineffectual, he gave away the ball which led to the Blades’ opener.

Some fairly big clubs have been linked with Stokes in the last few days. So after hearing talk of Cardiff and Panathanaikos, I'm pretty sure Stokes would rather join an Orange Walk than join us.

Replacement Striker?
BBC article on Miles Storey joining us on loan. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34108542 Elsewhere, the Swindon Advertiser says today that he was on trial with us back in January. Was he, or did they mean to say St Mirren? (All wee Scottish clubs look the same.....) Interesting article on Storey's rise and fall at Swindon. http://www.swindon.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=409051 Good luck to him, hope he can relaunch his career up here, but at the same time I'll be very disappointed if he's the only striker we sign this week.

Robbie Neilson and John Hughes have both been referred to the Compliance Office for their post-match comments about refs.

It's not all doom and gloom
Here's something to celebrate. Our run of 8 competitive games without a win isn't actually our worst ever - hurrah! We had a run of 9 winless games from October to December 2006, but as far as I can see the record is 11 matches from January to March 2008. Wins over joke side Gretna before and after that run prevented it from being longer.

My only criticism of Fon today was his kicking, there were a few bad ones that sailed out of play. As for Dani Lopez, just like Jennifer Lopez, he has knockers, but I think he's actually got a decent amount of craft, skill and vision. His failing is that he is way too slow, especially for the role he is given. It was good to have Tremarco in the centre of defence, he did really well, whereas Devine had a few shakey moments and I'm not sure what he was doing when he deliberately stuck his arm up to handle a cross that his head wasn't gonna get to. It was also good to have Draper back in midfield. I think our attacking players were sent out to be creative and play with gay abandon today, there were loads of fancy turns and touches from Christie, Vigurs and Mutombo in the first half, all very nice to watch. If only we had the right kind of striker to capitalise.

Ryan Christie
Hughes said pre-match on the radio that there are no other bids on the table other than Celtic. Also mentioned that Bournemouth were very keen on Christie last season. Incidentally, Ryan put in a performance that justified the hype, for 60 minutes or so, before fading out after missing a great chance to seal the win.

Dundee -V- Inverness CT
Today's game was a carbon copy of the Perth one a few weeks ago. Sooo frustrating. A draw snatched from the jaws of victory, fans and players gutted. Really good performance for 80 minutes, equaliser out of nowhere. Mutombo deserves the absolute pelters he was getting from both sets of fans as he walked off, after a vicious and unneccessary late lunge on the half way line, born out of frustration at the equaliser. He will have to face the wrath of Hughes and his teammates after leaving our depleted squad short of yet another player, effing idiot.

Injury Updates
The Gods of long-term injury seem to be playing some sort of name game when it comes to selecting victims. Foran, Doran, Warren. Raven next?

Wee Billy
I'm sure we'd all like to wish him all the best on his return to Scottish football. Break a leg, Billy.

Ex-ICT players' news
Philip Roberts is finished at Dundee. Not clear if he's had his contract terminated or just been told to find another club, but he won't be gracing their bench again. Hartley inexplicably signed him on a 2 year contract in 2014 after Roberts had been sacked by Falkirk (attitude, lack of discipline etc). He only made a few appearances for Dundee, and will be remembered by fans for those traits rather than contribution on the pitch. Owners of the city's pubs, clubs and takeaways are said to be devastated by the news.

Replacement Striker?
Reported to be a six figure sum, which we couldn't compete with, and which would allow Wigan to pretty much recoup their outlay. Hope it doesn't happen.

Did they specify which month?!

Hughes Hamiton post match interview
I'm available and meet one of those criteria - which is one more than the legendary Dean MacDonald did!

It's not so much a case of patiently seeking Mr Right as desperately searching for a Mr Right-Now.

Inverness CT -V- Hamilton
Before today's game, I was fairly optimistic and would have been disappointed with a draw. But as it turned out, we aren't even good enough to get a disappointing result!

Replacement Striker?
Regardless of his ability or otherwise, we couldn't afford to meet his wage demands before he became a high scoring striker with Europa experience, so we certainly couldn't afford them now.

Replacement Striker?
Translated article from a Romanian news site after last night's Europa defeat: Gregory Tade will be fired from Steaua, says owner Steaua, Gigi Becali. "You can not miss from two meters and not your head of 3 meters. I said to Argăseală. Tade - out. Tahar - out. Tade's my fault, I brought it. If someone gives me 5,000 on him, do not accept. I give free! "said financier after defeating Steaua categorical, 0-3 with Rosenborg in play-off CPC Europa League.

Trialists
At least this one's an outright striker! Has one or two years left on his contract but put in a transfer request in June when other Irish sides were sniffing around. Then last week he had a trial with Morton. But on Friday he withdrew his transfer request and committed himself to Portadown. And now he's on trial with us. http://www.portadowntimes.co.uk/sport/football/portadown-fc/murray-i-m-staying-with-the-ports-1-6904703

Aberdeen's Andrew Considine seems to prefer a different style of music. WTF! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWFGL4kbgVc

Ryan Christie
This season, Ryan seems to have become more of a direct goal threat than before, likely due to instructions from the manager. This added proof that he can score quite regularly when played in the right role has got to add a bit to his value. He has actually scored twice as many goals this season as the rest of our squad added together!

Scottish Cup 2016 - our defence of the trophy!
I've just realised that, whilst the Scottish Cup was the 5th trophy we have won, it's the first one we'll actually get the opportunity to retain!

Remember this former County striker? Don't recall him having much pace on the pitch, but I see he got banned from driving last week for doing a remarkable 156mph. ICT players aren't paid enough to afford cars that go that fast!
