Great find. It's both fascinating and mind boggling! The club can use this data to boost attendances - what our fans really want is Woody Guthrie played over the tannoy, golf scores to be read out at half time, Thai Fish Curry Puffs at the kiosk, and copies of Conde Naster Traveller to be sold by the programme sellers.
  2. Bold move, that one! You certainly can't fault the club for trying. The horse is being led to water.....
  3. Here's a wee challenge for anyone with too much time on their hands. I'd be interested to know which teams: 1. we have played most times 2. we have the largest number of wins against 3. we have the largest number of defeats to There was definitely a time (probably about 8 or so years ago) that the team we had lost to the most was Falkirk. I suspect it is now Celtic. As for our largest number of wins, it it would be nice if it were County, although I'd expect St Mirren to be up there too.
  4. And here is that anorak, with Renegade and myself looking on enviously. Meanwhile, Sneckboy was overjoyed at receiving his well deserved accolade.
  5. It's not as if international defenders have to be perfect all the time. Here's a German defender who faced Scotland recently: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29985141
  6. I'm disappointed and surprised that Barry's doing so badly. It's not that long ago that some people here wanted him to be ICT manager!
  7. And the winner of Geek Wars 2014 is.....!
  8. 25 scored out of 28. I'm pretty sure one of the keepers, Reidford, was on trial with us about 5 years ago. I can also recall a Caley v Clach shoot-out in one of the cups that ended up with a similar high score, in the early 80's.
  9. And, I believe, the first time in just over 3 years that we've won a league game after conceding the first goal. The curse is broken!
  10. First time we've ever been top of the league as late as November.
  11. Whilst not "news" as such, at Perth fireworks last night I bumped into ICT legends Paul Sheerin and Alex MacLeod!
  12. It is so much cheaper to change your name to match the plate, rather than the other way round!
  13. Billy has again been called up for the NI squad.
  14. Remember it well, it was notable for being the only time Darran Thomson made a worthwhile contribution!
  15. Incredible how all the "big" teams are drawn against each other, as are the lower league/non-league sides. 5 all-premier ties with the other 2 Premier sides facing Rangers and Hearts, meaning 7 of the the top 14 sides in the league set up will be knocked out at the first opportunity. Increases the prospect of a relatively easy tie for the sides that get through.
  16. One of the most unattractive draws possible.
  17. He once was on fire, but now he's just dire!
  18. He's by no means the first striker to go through phases of form and confidence. Remember with Wyness we used to sing "he used to be sh1te but now he's alright"? Maybe for Billy it's "he used to be prolific but now he's horrific!"
  19. This makes it 1-1 on aggregate this season, which is pretty darn good given the vast gulf in resources.
  20. Very much under the cosh in that half, but defending well and sticking to the game plan.
  21. You can watch it over and over again from 1:38 onwards. We won 4-0 that day, great stuff.
  22. Are there any other ex-ICT players who have won a national league title?
  23. After finally departing Easter Rd in September, I see Steve Marsella has joined Grimsby Town in the Conference as part-time goalkeeping coach. In this interview he mentions that as he is only part time there he is still doing some scouting work in that league for Scottish clubs. Also says he brought 27 players up to ICT - was it really that many? http://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/Marsella-ready-work-Mariners/story-23251499-detail/story.html
  24. Interestingly the results suggest we've done much better without him this season: We've won 7 games, with Doran only starting 2 of them. We've lost 3 games, with Doran starting all 3.
  25. Here's the news. At the first time of asking, John Hughes has given us our best ever start to a top flight campaign! Having played every team once, we have 23 points, one more than last year under "Sir" Terry. In both seasons, the GD at this stage is +7, but last year we had scored and conceded 3 more goals. Two points of note compared to last season: 1) we've achieved this without our captain and (so often) inspirational leader on the pitch. 2) this time last year Billy Mckay had notched 9 goals. This season he has the same tally as the Hibs goalkeeper. On the negative side, this season we were knocked out of the League Cup at the first hurdle, going out tamely to a lower league side. Note also that last year we went on to win all of our games in November. All in all though we are currently in a far better position than most of us would have expected. Well done Yogi, credit where it's due.
