Scottish Fans Supporter Roadshows
Apologies if this has already been mentioned elsewhere but I noticed on the SPL site that a football supporters forum/Q&A thingy is visiting Inverness (TCS) in a couple of weeks. There's no mention of any "celebrities" attending the Inverness one, but I don't know if that just means they haven't got anyone confirmed yet. Even though it's free, I'd have thought they would need somebody of interest to make it appealing to your average punter. http://www.scotprem....s2&newsid=11800 "Supporter Roadshows Scottish Fans are delighted to announce a series of roadshows around the country, offering football fans the chance to have their say on the future of the game. They are visiting nine venues across Scotland with great speakers (including Alex Smith, Jimmy Calderwood, Jocky Scott, Gary Mackay and many more) talking about a range of issues affecting the game. Fans are encouraged to give their views in a Question Time style format, knowing that their views will be collated and used to influence change within the game. Admission to all events is free but please pre-register your place by e-mailing them at [email protected] with your name and event you're attending. Anyone who preregisters will be entered into a prize draw for £100 worth of vouchers to a sports store (of our choice). The dates are as follow (click the link to find out more and confirm you're coming): + October 28th – Corn Exchange, Edinburgh (with Pat Stanton and Gary Mackay) - 6.30pm + November 4th – East End Park, Dunfermline (with Jimmy Calderwood and Jimmy Nicholl) - 6.30pm + November 6th – Dens Park, Dundee - 6.30pm + November 11th – Venue TBC, Aberdeen (with Jocky Scott and Jimmy Calderwood) - 2.30pm + November 12th – Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, Inverness - 6.30pm + November 18th – Rugby Park, Kilmarnock - 2pm (with Dave McKinnon) + November 19th – Palmerston Park, Dumfries - 6.30pm (with Des McKeown) + November 20th – Falkirk (TBC) + November 26th – The Arches, Glasgow - 6pm (with Tom Boyd and Pat Nevin)"

Televised Games
The home games against Hearts and Motherwell are televised, but I think that's all until 2013.
- I.C.T. -V- St Johnstone
-
Crowds
3,000 or so seems to be the norm this season, unless it is a game with a big away support. More today than v Dundee Utd.

If if if....
It's often said that "if" is the football fan's favourite word. But here's something to consider. IF we'd held onto our 1-0 leads in the home draws against Killie, Aberdeen and St Johnstone, all of which we could or should have done.......we'd be top of the SPL.

Oh well, that's a shame. I had got my hopes up because I work on the principle that a foreign player with an exotic name MUST be good. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Tour de France
Interesting, I hadn't heard about that. I also only learnt last week that footballers pump themselves up with caffeine pills before a game. This was in the news when England's game in Poland was postponed and the players then needed sleeping pills, which some were speculating might have explained their lethargic performance the next day. All that is perfectly legit of course, but I just wondered if the use of caffeine is across the board eg at our level?

Just out of interest CaleyD, what are your thoughts on the persecution of Jimmy So-vile? "Was never charged with anything, no evidence at all, just the word of 300 unreliable witnesses...."

U20s results since Killie
It's always hard to get good info on the U20s. Almost 24 hours after the latest round of matches, the only place google can find the results is on a French gambling website. No mention on the ICT official site and nothing yet on the relevant U20 sections of the SPL site nor the sponsor's Clydesdale Bank Football site.

Ouch, just noticed that Newport lost 1-3 at home last night to "Yate Town" who now reach the 1st round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history. They play in the Southern Football League Division One South and West.

Here's a question for the Newport fan. I remember back in the 80's when watching Final Score on Grandstand, that the Newport score was always late and wouldn't come in til about 5pm. I used to think they must always kick off at 3.15 for some reason, but then I heard something about the lack of a telephone at the ground for journalists. Was that the reason?

U20s results since Killie
Won 8-0 in the Scottish Youth cup. The 4th round was drawn today, and on 25 November we are away to the winners of Edinburgh City v Partick, who play this Friday.

Has Rangers going to Div three
Yes, yes and yes. Can't quantify the lost income but TV money, sponsorship, advertising, hospitality and gate receipts were all expected to drop after the SPL clubs refused to let Newco straight back in. Things are so bad we've had to dip into the Conference to find players We don't miss the unpleasant aspects of their support, but if you ask any ICT fan for a list of our most memorable games, wins over Rangers will always feature. So we don't miss playing them, but we do miss beating them. We are perhaps fortunate that our local rivals got promoted which means we haven't suffered a drop in the number of big games, and I think most fans would rather see us play County over Rangers anyway.

SPL voting structure
You beat me to it, I wondering the exact same thing. The only team that would benefit financially from the status quo is the team that gets 2nd place. Are Aberdeen that confident?

FOUND HIM! Lionel Djebi-Zadi

St Johnstone roll call
Very interesting game in store, 3 wins in a row v 5 wins in a row. Something's gotta give.

Roberts extending his stay?
The Sun reports that he'll be happy to extend, but lets not get excited until a deal is done. A Dee supporting colleague was very impressed with Roberts.
- Congratulations DJS

ICT -V- Ross County
- Dundee -V- I.C.T.
Just out of interest, what accent does the London based Irishman have?- Dundee -V- I.C.T.
From what I've seen so far Dundee look the worst team in the league by far. BUT if County hadn't got a soft penalty at Dens, both those sides would be level on 5 points.- Dundee -V- I.C.T.
I must have missed that one! Nicky Riley? - Dundee -V- I.C.T.
