Goals goals goals
Looking at the table, only the league leaders have scored more than us. The bad news of course is on goals conceded, where in just 7 games we have let in 6 more than anyone else. Ouch. 11 months ago I started a thread pointing out that at that stage, our average goals conceded of 2.0 per game was worse than that of the relegated team in 9 of the previous 11 seasons (see below). 2000/01 - 1.89 - St Mirren 2001/02 - 1.63 - St Johnstone 2002/03 - 1.87 - Motherwell 2003/04 - 1.76 - Partick 2004/05 - 1.87 - Dundee 2005/06 - 2.07 - Livingston 2006/07 - 1.45 - Dunfermline 2007/08 - 2.18 - Gretna 2008/09 - 1.53 - ICT 2009/10 - 1.50 - Falkirk 2010/11 - 1.55 - Hamilton 2011/12 - 2.16 - Dunfermline Back then most of us thought our defence was really poor. Well this season we are up at 2.29, with the Celtic and Motherwell thrashings obviously having an impact. I'm not concerned about it. And I'm not going to mention the northbound departures of **** ****** and ***** *****. It's very early days, and last season we tightened up considerably as the season went on, and I'm sure we will again as the defensive line-up settles down, injuries are overcome, and they finally get to gel at the back. It's also a consequence of the radical overhaul in the style of play this season, which is leading to more goals at both ends. I like it this way. The game is all about goals, and we now know that a game ain't over if we give the opposition a 2 goal head start. And I'm very pleasantly surprised that we are scoring so many without having replaced our top scorers from last season. There will always be criticism of a defence that concedes more than we'd expect, but at least nobody can complain about the lack of entertainment in our season so far.

Hibernian -V ICT
But still no goals from open play against 11 men!

Hibernian -V ICT
After the Hearts game Terry announced on the radio that Connor "gets paid peanuts" (salted or peppered?) which I'm sure was noted by his agent and other clubs! If he does well enough to earn a better deal from us or a more lucrative elsewhere move then fair play to him.

JD Sports Inverness - County merchandise
Just bear in mind that there are two sides to every story, that our commercial manager would have been acting in our interests whilst JD act in JD's interest! Did your JD man mention how little ICT would actually make on everything they sold?

Shane Sutherland injury
Glad its not as bad as I feared.

Hibs roll call
Don't think I can make this one.
-
ICT -V- Aberdeen
Appeal successfull, Anderson's red card rescinded. I'm slightly surprised, I thought he made enough contact with the player before reaching the ball to make it a penalty.

ICTFC Launches Monthly Magazine
I've come up with some hilarious cartoons of Mohammed that I'd like to submit to the magazine. Guaranteed to get people talking and boost sales. All I ask in return is that you give me a full credit in the publication, by adding my details : " © Derek Adams, c/o Victoria Park, Dingwall". Thanks.

First SPL manager to be sacked/resign?
Got to be careful what we say, but presumably something to do with this? http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/st-johnstone-boss-faces-sex-1318313
- U20s win again!

Richard Hastings
Just to confirm that Brora have officially announced that they have signed Hastings til the end of the season.
-
Owain Tudur Jones
The best thing about this thread is that it has distracted people from having the exact same red card/passion/recklessness debate regarding Foran. Who's going to be next?

FOUND HIM! Lionel Djebi-Zadi
After years of searching and worrying about the whereabouts of Lionel the ICT legend cult figure, I think I have tracked him down. It appears that in 2011 he joined Saint Louisienne who play in the top flight in.....La Reunion (French island in the Indian Ocean). The team's wikipedia page shows a Lionel Zadi, now age 30, in the squad, along with a Serge Zadi who is his 37 year old brother. Was there not some suggestion years ago that Lionel wanted ICT to give his brother a trial? Some cynics might say that wikipedia is not 100% reliable, but I think this you-tube video removes any doubt. First of all, look at who uploaded it. Then at the line-up, look at the guy in the green team standing next to the keeper. And best of all, check out the spectacular winning goal at 1.50, I'm pretty sure that it was Lionel wearing number 28. That would certainly explain why he uploaded it. PS Can someone please create an "I've got way too much time on my hands" smiley?

The Rules Should Be Bent To Suit Rangers
God Save the Queen (of the South!)

Hospitality
But the downside at County is that you've then got to sit through a pretty inevitable 0-0 borefest.

Steven Fletcher
I don't blame Levein on this one. Fletcher withdrew from selection, so Fletcher is the one who needs to make himself available by informing the manager, and more than that, Fletcher needs to convince the manager that he is committed to the cause, unconditionally, regardless of whether he likes the tactics or whether he gets picked or not.

Shane Sutherland injury
Getting a hospital scan on his right knee tomorrow, and Terry not sounding optimistic. "We keep losing key players and this looks like being another blow." To me that suggests months rather than a few games. Let's hope it's not too bad. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19628440

Weekly Diving Awards
Perhaps diving is so rife that these awards should be daley rather than weekly......

ICT -V- Aberdeen
Ta, no trick question, I just wasn't paying attention. Just imagine if we had a natural finisher to get on the end of balls like those. Perhaps a penalty is the best we could hope for, which at least is an improvement on last season, when every time Tade was put through on goal I'd find myself thinking "Yes! We might get a corner out of this!"

ICT -V- Aberdeen
Which of our players made the killer passes to put Sutherland and then Doran through on goal?
-
ICT -V- Aberdeen
Noooo, don't start all that!

Owain Tudur Jones
Radio reckoned it should only have been a yellow.
-
ICT finances
Yes, let's get back to the football and talk tactics for tomorrow's game. Do you think we'll be playing high balls to our pint sized striker?

Scotland vs Serbia and Macedonia
I wouldn't expect them to punt a manager until the end of a campaign, or when its arithmetically impossible to qualify.
