Out of the 14 possible draw outcomes for us, that is probably the 2nd worst.

Wyness101, would you like me to close this thread, on compassionate grounds :P
  3. Wyness101, what team has that awful pink and grey one?

I think I'm a better finisher than Duncan!
  5. Didn't we lose 2-1 there? Making us better than Man U, on the away goals rule.
  6. [Makes note of idea for half-time entertainment]
  7. Blending in kind of defeats the purpose of having a visible pitchside presence. Does a circus ringmaster or a master of ceremonies turn up in t-shirt and jeans?
  8. It's not quite on a par with Lee Clarke a few years ago. A Newcastle supporter, he was pictured in the Newcastle end at a match, wearing a "Sad Mackem B******s" t-shirt - while he was a Sunderland player. Don't think he ever played for them again.

I like the idea of using famous literary works to analyse the situation at our club. War and Peace anyone?
  10. HL players expect signing on fees? Anything more than ?25 and they're getting ideas above their station.
  11. What with the catering shortages, I'm surprised and disappointed that there was no chant of "Who ate....."
  12. Brave move CaleyD, sounds like it paid off.
  13. You can't win the league if you don't win home games against the likes of Ayr. :021:
  14. At present he's right up there in our league table of biggest ever wastes of money, he owes us a few goals and he really ought to get quite a few this season. But with so many striking options, it still remains to be seen how often he'll get a start.
  15. And yet you saw fit to give up a few moments of your life to read a thread entitled "Norwich City Manager Sacked", and then post on it?! Edit - and then post on it.....twice, and counting!

    Nairn's website says 75.
  17. I think I read that Burley has 2 wins from 12 matches. Winning 2 from 2 isn't going to happen. The SFA will wait until the campaign is over before getting rid of him.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...rem/8182090.stm Saw this on BBC, mapping the birthplaces of current Premiership players. The map of the UK in the bottom left shows that there are none from anywhere north of Dundee. 20 years ago (the grey circles) there were 3 from Elgin area.
  19. You can always rely on Scotland to let you down. That was just dismal, against a poor international side with very predictable and basic tactics.

And then of course there's Les Fridge, Thistle to Chelsea. Plenty of great names here (and Les Fridge), but how many achieved a big step up in the last 25 years? What happened?

Tokely went from HL to the lower leagues, and then progressed up with ICT over many years, which isn't quite the big step-up I had in mind.

Was reading recently about the rapid rise of this young Scot, getting an U21 call-up and now a regular in Championship side Peterborough. He joined them a year ago from Cove Rangers, where he'd been for 3 seasons. I'm trying to think of other Highland League players of recent times who have gone on to much greater things, but I'm struggling. Ritchie Hart going to ICT was a success, but not as impressive a story as this Coutts chap.
  23. So we should have accepted Hamilton's offer then? :022:
  24. For Scotland U16, or Scotland representation at any level?
  25. How many points do you reckon Strathspey can get this season?
