  1. I'm ashamed to admit I once said to a waiter "I'll have the crocodile please........and make it snappy!" Also had kangaroo.
  2. And when those weren't on, there was some badly dubbed French or Spanish series, Flash of the Blade?
  3. Just home. I can confirm that we played very well today, and derved a point if not 3. Even the defence did well! Great effort all round, and Brewster looked a class above Marius (who faded out of the game in the 2nd half). Wilson was the playmaker on the left wing and had a good game, just lacking a decent cross or shot. Our shooting was atrocious though. For many years I have had a theory that that the standard of shooting in the warm-up indicates how the game is going to go. Today they fired in dozens of shots from 18 yards and none of them went in. When that happens, you know the team aren't gonna score. (It was pretty much the same last week as well!) But overall if we play like that every week, we'll do fine this season.
  4. I'm very disappointed that we have ended up with Brewster, simply because he failed so miserably at Tannadice and proved that his real impact on ICT was as a Player not a manger. I'm not a member of the Board, yet, but I would guess they chose him because : 1) Immediately available (important with transfer window shutting) 2) Extremely keen on the job 3) No qualms about moving to Inverness 4) No transfer fee 5) Affordable salary (meaning more funds available to get players in transfer window) 6) Still a great player into the bargain 7) Knows most of the squad (and staff behind the scenes) so can hit the ground running 8) We DID do very well under his last reign, (despite some very vocal revisionists on this site) 9) Last time around his sides were ALWAYS organised, fit and very hard to beat. That's what we need right now. 10) No other credible candidates with sufficient track record seem to be available at the moment, or affordable, or interested in the job. At the end of the day our previous 3 managers may have been the best candidates. They all failed when they moved on, so take your pick!

I doubt we'll ever see Ridgers again.
  6. Bungle's saying "Oh Zibby, you are awful....."
  7. Relegation beckons if that's the best we can do. Is there a transfer window I can jump out of?
  8. Been getting a lot of these this week. You probably know about them already, but it's worse than ever this evening. 9. Last season's final standings. The sad truth is that all the unseeded teams will be praying they get us in the draw. But there's nobody we should be afraid of.
  10. The return of Proctor was announced on Radio Scotland about half an hour ago, not confirmed but they said a deal was being done. Straight afterwards they said Bullen is not coming.
  11. Radio Scotland reporting that he is NOT now coming to ICT. They said this straight after a pre-recorded interview with Brewster saying that the defender he was hopeful of getting would sort the defence out. I presume he wasn't referring to Proctor. :017:
  12. Proctor didn't make the grade with us. The fact that we were able to offload him to the mugs at Tannadice AND get a ?20k transfer fee was one of the best pieces of business we have ever done. He was absolutely gash at Tannadice and was culpable for a few of the goals their defence leaked early last season. Never got anywhere near the first team after that. Disappointing signing, yet rather predictable.
  13. He is probably a better shotstopper than fraser. If he can cut out the howlers (and I believe he did so in his loan spell at Gretna) he could well become first choice.
  14. I'd rather have Zbigniew Boniek in goals. At least it's competition for the place, which we didn't have before.
  15. Yet another person spouting off that Brewster is a bad appointment, but without coming up with a single alternative! Come on Bigmack, give us the names of better candidates who would actually be interested in the job.
  16. I know the SFA are trying new things, but how does that work? Triangular pitch?
  17. Yes. First Round draw : Brora Rangers v Cove Rangers Golspie Sutherland v Preston Athletic Coldstream v Dalbeattie Star Glasgow University v Buckie Thistle Wigtown & Bladnoch v Burntisland Shipyard Civil Service Strollers v Selkirk Fort William v Spartans Newton Stewart v Linlithgow Rose Vale of Leithen v Gala Fairydean Wick Academy v Deveronvale Culter v Hawick Royal Albert Rothes v Nairn County St Cuthbert Wanderers v Pollok Fraserburgh v Huntly Girvan v Forres Mechanics Lossiemouth v Whitehill Welfare Clachnacuddin v Edinburgh City Edinburgh University received a bye
  18. Keep up! Changes for this season were announced earlier this year, abolishing the Qual Cups and bringing in more non-league and junior teams, with an extra round being added.
  19. How about a book! History of the website, relations with the club, the media appearances, infamous posters and threads, the scandals, Mrs Mann...... And after the book, the film. Scotty and Don, who do you want to play you?
  20. I would understand and support the stewards' actions if they were ejecting fans for poor grammar and spelling.
  21. It has crossed my mind that our freeze in transfer activity while the manager vacancy was filled could be a factor in our missing out on him, but I suspect not. The indications were that he was never keen to move to the Highlands. No reason to panic. Rabbits, hats.
  22. Got the answer. It is all run through the SPL sponsors, on cbfootball.co.uk Fans vote online for which players/managers should appear on the shortlist, with the top 3 in each category going through for consideration. However, the panel then add to this their own preferred candidates, and then decide the winner. Fans do not have a say in the winner. Complete waste of time.
  23. Good to get a win, but still no clean sheet. :024:
  24. Wyness scores against Arbroath - just like the good old days!
  25. I heard that this season the monthly Clydesdale Bank awards for Manager, Player and Young Player of the month will include some kind of public vote. Previously they were decided by a panel of pundits over a boozy lunch. Anyone know how they are going to do it?
